Family of UberEats driver murdered by teenagers confronts 15-year-old in court after she receives short sentence

The family of Mohammad Anwar, the upstanding Pakistani immigrant who drove for UberEats to help make a better way for his family, confronted one of Anwar’s killers in court last week during her sentencing.

What is the background?

Anwar’s accused killers — two female teenagers, aged 13 and 15 — were charged with felony murder for killing Anwar.

The girls, armed with a stun gun, were attempting to carjack Anwar when, while he attempted to defend himself, the girls sped off with Anwar on the outside of the car. The car then crashed down the road, flipping on its side and flinging Anwar’s body into a building. The girls were quickly detained by National Guard soldiers.

Shockingly, as one of the girls was being detained, she voiced concern for her cellphone, which she believed was still inside the vehicle, as Anwar’s broken body lay on the sidewalk. Neither the soldiers nor nearby witnesses rushed to Anwar’s aid.

Despite the callousness of the crime, prosecutors declined to charge the 15-year-old as an adult and were prohibited by Washington, D.C., law from charging the 13-year-old as an adult. Still, prosecutors offered the girls a plea bargain that allowed them to plead guilty to murder in exchange for other charges being dropped. The result is that both girls will serve minimal detention sentences.

What did the family say?

A judge sentenced the 15-year-old girl in juvenile court on Friday, handing out the maximum sentence allowable — just six years inside a juvenile detention facility. She will be released when she turns 21.

D.C. Judge Lynn Leibovitz denounced the “unthinkable crime” and chided the defendant for being “unfeeling,” but it was Anwar’s family who delivered the real verbal punch.

Unfortunately, Anwar’s family was not allowed in court and were forced to read their victim statements virtually.

Anwar’s daughter told the defendant directly that she will never forgive her.

I cannot get past the fact of him enduring the pain of the injuries you caused him, I cannot move past that sidewalk of N Street on March 23rd, where my Abbu [father] lay broken, while one of you was only concerned about your phone. Please tell me have you ever had a fracture? It is the worst pain anyone can go through and let me tell you clearly, you broke most of the bones in his body. I can never forgive you for that PAIN, the fact that you killed him comes way after his pain. No amount of years you spend in any facility can ever make you go through even one percent of that pain.

Even if you try to shake it off as a mistake in your life, always remember that you INTENDED to cause him pain. You had planned to tase the person whoever come in your way. How DARE YOU? How dare you use that taser on my father? The kindest man who never even killed an ant, why did he had to be in so much pain? I hope you never forget your intention to harm an innocent human. You did not kill one person that day, you killed his whole family. That pain he had to go through, will be our heartache till our last days, and we will never ever forget you were the cause of this pain.

Anwar’s niece also decried the defendant being more concerned about a cellphone than Anwar and rebuked the sensational media coverage of Anwar’s tragic death.

There is so much our family has endured in these few months since March 23rd
. While we were
literally at the cemetery for his burial, we learned a video of the incident was uploaded to the
internet and went viral quickly after, including in Pakistan which is half a world away. I cannot
begin to tell you how agonizing and devastating it is to watch your loved one die so violently and
have the world view it as entertainment on websites like World Star Hip Hop and TMZ.

There
are nights we cannot sleep and the horrific video replays in our heads over and over and over
again. We are haunted by the image of his broken, crumpled body lying on the pavement and
him struggling to move. It is incredibly heartbreaking to watch the respondents lack empathy
and immediately cry out for their cell phones while he is lying literally at their feet. We can’t
believe that a witness would share this video with the world and no longer trust many people
outside our family. While the respondents and their privacy are protected by the juvenile court
system, the video now lives on the internet forever and my uncle isn’t even afforded dignity in
his death.

However, when Anwar’s niece addressed the defendant directly, she voiced the value of the defendant’s life and expressed hope that hers would not be wasted.

“Any sentence you receive today will not bring my uncle back. While you may not have seen value in his life in those moments, we do see value in yours,” she said. “Your life is valuable. Your entire life is ahead of you and you will have the opportunity to live a good life, if you so choose. We hope you will learn from this and choose to go on to do great things and be a productive member of society.”

Anything else?

Tragically, prosecutors revealed in court that Anwar displayed kindness to the girls, even up to the moment they killed him.

“Anwar had shown the girls nothing but kindness on March 23, 2021, even as they plotted to steal his car, according to prosecutors. He agreed to give the girls a ride in his Honda Accord, but when they got to a side street near the ballpark, the girls tried to take his car and his belongings, according to prosecutors,” WUSA-TV reported.

Still, the 15-year-old reportedly expressed remorse during her sentencing.

“No matter how much stuff I’ve been through, I never wanted to hurt someone,” she said, according to WUSA. “None of this was intentional, in other words, I never thought this would go through … If I could take it back, I would.”

The 13-year-old girl pled guilty to second-degree murder last Thursday. She will be sentenced next month.

‘F*** you, Chinese people! I hate you!’: Video shows Asian store owner punched in face, knocked to floor by customer

Surveillance video caught the moment when an angry customer walked up to Chong Hu Lu, owner of Max Trading in Washington, D.C., and punched him in the face and knocked him to the floor of his business Tuesday, WRC-TV reported.

What are the details?

Lu told the station the customer was upset that opening store items is prohibited.

With that, video shows the man approaching Lu and suddenly punching him in the face, after which Lu fell to the floor.

Lu noted to WRC that the customer yelled, “F*** you, Chinese people! I hate you!”

After the punches were thrown, surveillance video shows Lu’s wife Cong Cong Hu stepped in and tried to help, the station said.

Later she told WRC, “I was so scared. What if the guy go crazy, have a gun or knife? I don’t know what would happen, so I’m so scared.”

Lu went to the hospital after the attack and needed 14 stitches, the station said.

The family told WRC the attacker ran off after the incident and has not been arrested.

But D.C. police told the station an investigation is ongoing, and that they’re treating the attack as a possible hate crime.

Lu added to WRC that he hopes police make an arrest and that he’s tired of the attacks upon Asian Americans.

The couple’s daughter told the station that she begged her parents to close the shop the next day for fear of their safety.

But Hu and Lu told WRC they had no choice but to stay open as they have to make a living. The station said Max Trading has been operating for 22 years, and that the family works six days a week, every week, and that the pandemic has made business especially tough.

“I just don’t understand,” Hu told WRC. “I couldn’t sleep the whole night last night. Why do they treat us like this? We didn’t do nothing wrong.”

Washington Football Team is growing more woke: No more cheerleaders next season

The Washington Football Team — previously known the world over as the “Redskins” before ownership ditched the increasingly controversial moniker last summer amid a left-wing wave that crashed upon America’s institutions — appears to be growing even more woke.

What now?

The NFL franchise will not have cheerleaders this coming season — a first after more than 50 years, USA Today reported.

In their place will be a coed dance squad, according to Petra Pope, the team’s newly hired senior adviser, who told the paper “we want to be more inclusive.”

“Being super athletic” is the new goal, she added to USA Today: “We’re able to do more things with the strength of a male, and lifts, so that’s changed a great deal. The inclusivity, strength, and interest of choreography has changed.”

More from the paper:

Pope brings more than three decades’ experience in NBA entertainment to her new role overseeing creative direction and gameday entertainment. She redesigned the Nets’ gameday experience as the team moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn, in addition to spending 14 years with the Knicks. In Los Angeles, Pope managed the Lakers’ “Laker Girls.”

Pope said all contracts with Washington’s cheerleaders have expired, but all of them are eligible to audition for the 2021 dance squad, the paper said.

Anything else?

As for the team’s new moniker, it was reported last summer that it was a temporary fix while the front office searches for a new name and mascot for future seasons.

Before settling on “Football Team,” the franchise announced in early July — the height of the George Floyd rioting — that it was reviewing the Redskins moniker “in light of recent events around our country and feedback from our community.”

Team owner Dan Snyder has said previously he’d never change the team’s name, but soon he was on board with it. The new direction coincided with pressure from elected officials who said they’d fight against the team’s intention to build a new stadium in Washington, D.C., unless the team changed its name.

Also last July, numerous women who worked for the franchise claimed they were sexually harassed by team employees. Not coincidentally among the women in question were members of the 2008 and 2010 cheerleading squads; it was alleged that team employees created videos of outtakes from calendar shoots when the women weren’t fully dressed, USA Today added.

The franchise denied the existence of videos, and an attorney representing the team and owner Daniel Snyder told the paper that the matter “has been resolved.”

National Guard could be stationed in DC until at least the fall: report

Department of Defense officials are considering keeping National Guard troops in Washington, D.C. through the fall, according to internal communication obtained by WTTG-TV.

There are currently approximately 6,000 National Guard troops patrolling Washington, D.C., following the Capitol riot on Jan 6. At one point, there were an estimated 26,000 National Guard members in D.C. to provide security for President Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20.

An internal communication between the Department of Defense and the National Guard reportedly discusses keeping troops in the nation’s capital until the fall.

Robert G. Salesses, who is the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Global Security, allegedly discussed an extension of the National Guard in D.C.

“If it’s not possible to sustain at the current level with [National Guard] personnel, we need to establish the number of [National Guard] personnel (DCNG and out-of-state) we can sustain for an extended period – at least through Fall 2021 – and understand additional options for providing [Department of Defense] support, to include use of reserve personnel, as well as active component,” Salesses reportedly wrote to the Capitol Police and National Security Council in an email.

Currently, there are plans to keep the National Guard in Washington, D.C., until mid-March. On Monday, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said the cost of having the National Guard secure Washington, D.C. from Jan. 6 until March 15 will cost taxpayers $483 million — $284 million for personnel and $199 million for operations, according to Forbes.

Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) questioned why there are still National Guard troops in Washington.

“We still have National Guardsmen out there, away from their families, away from their jobs, supplementing the police,” Waltz told Fox News host Martha MacCallum. “And yet we can’t get a briefing on what is this dire threat that requires so many people. We still don’t have answers.”

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) also questioned why there were still troops in D.C.

“I sit on the Intelligence Committee, but I’m aware of no specific, credible threat reporting — as distinguished from aspirational, uncoordinated bluster on the internet — that justifies this continued troop presence,” Cotton wrote in a Fox News op-ed. “Thus, I believe the rest of these soldiers should also go home to their families and civilian jobs.”

The National Guard created a three-mile perimeter around the Capitol grounds after the Capitol riot, complete with barriers, fortified fences, and barbed wires.

Several Republican lawmakers have called for the barriers to be removed after pointing out the hypocrisy of the border wall being canceled by President Joe Biden.

The National Guard provided a statement to WTTG, “The National Guard is conducting prudent planning for the eventual end of the security mission and the return of its Soldiers and Airmen to their home stations.”

Maj. Matt Murphy, a spokesman for the National Guard, told DCist, “We are providing assistance such as security, communications, medical evacuation, logistics, and safety support to state, district and federal agencies.”

Law enforcement agencies involved with securing Washinton, D.C. and the federal buildings in the city will reportedly will discuss possible plans during a meeting on Feb. 17.

BLM and Antifa march in DC, threaten to ‘burn down’ Washington

Black Lives Matter and Antifa protesters marched in the streets of Washington, D.C., where demonstrators scuffled with police officers and the crowd shouted threats to “burn down” the nation’s capital.

On Saturday night, members of BLM and Antifa protested in D.C., where they regularly chanted, “If we don’t get it, burn it down!”

Independent photojournalist Brendan Gutenschwager shared videos from the protest in D.C., where Antifa members waived an “Antifascist Action” flag as they marched.

The crowd yelled the popular Black Lives Matter phrase, “Whose streets? Our streets! Whose streets? Our streets!”

During the “FTP March” (an acronym for “F*** The Police”), the mob shouted the anti-police battle cry, “A.C.A.B. All cops are bastards!”

The demonstrators stopped near a row of restaurants, where protest leaders delivered lectures about “race, Black and Indigenous lives” to nearby diners.

At one point, things escalated after a black bloc protester shined a light into the face of a police officer, who then slapped away the flashlight. The black bloc member retaliated and smacked the police officer. The officer then pushed the crowd back by using his bicycle. The black bloc protester then slaps another cop. The officer thrusts his bike even more aggressively into the crowd dressed in all black. During the tense situation, a female in the crowd tells the officer to put his face mask on.

The BLM march ended with a speech honoring Eric Garner, according to Gutenschwager.

“We are here tonight because black lives matter,” the BLM crowd repeated after the main speaker. “Despite black lives mattering, black people are still dying at the hands of the police paid for by our tax dollars.”

The group recited the story of Eric Garner, a New York man who died while in police custody in 2014. During the story, the crowd called police officers the derogatory name of “pigs” on multiple occasions.

There were then several chants of “I can’t breathe!”

Washington, D.C., has been heavily guarded since the Capitol riots on Jan. 6. There were more than 26,000 National Guard troops in D.C. before President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

“There are currently about 7,000 National Guard members in the city providing security,” ABC News reported. “That number is expected to slowly go down to 5,000, and they are set to stay until about mid-March. The total cost for the deployment is expected to be close to $500 million.”

The U.S. Capitol building has been fortified with barricades and fencing, which many are calling for the structures to be removed.

2nd Amend. concealed carry Congress gun rights Guns capitol Intelwars Lauren boebert Self-Defense washington dc

Outspoken Republican US Rep. Lauren Boebert granted concealed carry permit in DC

After infuriating Democrats by carrying a gun on the job, outspoken freshman U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) was granted a concealed carry permit in Washington, D.C., the Hill reported.

What’s the background?

So, why did the 5-foot, 100-pound congresswoman stir up so much angst among her leftist colleagues? Well, the following tweet from Boebert — a staunch Second Amendment supporter — may have been part of it:

The video in the latter tweet shows Boebert appearing to carry a gun around the Capitol — and The Hill said members are allowed to do so.

What did the DC police chief have to say?

While the video suggested the congresswoman was armed, Boebert never has been seen with a gun, D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee said at a press conference Thursday, the outlet reported. Contee also said after the ad was released that he learned a permit application was “in the works” at the department, The Hill added.

“As we do with all our permits, if citizens are allowed to carry, then we grant them a permit,” Contee continued, according to the outlet. “In this case, she was allowed to carry, and she was granted a [concealed carry] permit. And yes, we did reach out to the office.”

Anything else?

Boebert had expressed her desire to carry a gun on Capitol grounds well before she was sworn in early last month. In fact, 21 Democrats signed a Dec. 15 letter to House Leadership requesting a “change in House Rules for the 117th Congress to ensure that Members of Congress are held to the same firearm safety rules as the public while they are on Capitol grounds.”

“Ultimately, the current regulations create needless risk for Members of Congress, their staff, members of the Capitol Police, and visitors to the Capitol grounds,” the Democrats wrote.

In response, Boebert penned her own letter — signed by “83 members and member-elects of Congress in an effort to block a gun grab recently proposed by House Democrats.”

“I refuse to give up my Second Amendment rights,” Boebert wrote. “I’m a 5-foot tall, 100-pound mom with four children and will be walking to work and serving in one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. I choose to defend my family and my life with all of the force the Constitution provides. I will not let a bunch of gun-grabbing House Democrats take away my Constitutional right to protect myself.”

Soon after, new rules for the 117th Congress did not appear to include the Democrats’ proposed ban on lawmakers carrying guns inside the U.S. Capitol building — notching a win for Boebert on her first day at work.

But the her path forward still came with its share of bumps.

On the heels of the Capitol riot, a number of GOP members were reportedly “furious” Jan. 12 upon discovering they would need to pass through metal detectors manned by U.S. Capitol Police officers in order to gain entry to the House chamber. Boebert refused to comply with officers searching her bag before entry.

And then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced the following day that the House will be considering a new rule that would impose hefty fines on lawmakers who refuse to comply with the added security measures.

Boebert’s name first hit the public consciousness in 2014 with stories about her Colorado restaurant “Shooters Grill,” where servers exercise their open-carry rights. She made even bigger headlines in 2019 by standing up to then-presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke — who infamously declared, “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47” — by telling him, “I am here to say: Hell no, you’re not.”

FBI releases new information on DC pipe bomb suspect, increases reward to $100,000?

The FBI is now offering a $100,000 reward for any new information that can lead to the arrest of the individual suspected of placing pipe bombs at the headquarters of the Democratic and Republican national committees in Washington, D.C.

The bureau on Friday released new photos and information from its investigation, revealing that it believes the bombs were placed between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 5, the night before the riot at the Capitol building. The photos show pieces of the explosive devices used, including a timer, and identify the suspect’s shoes as Nike Air Max Speed Turfs.

“The unknown individual wore a face mask, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes in yellow, black, and gray. The individual carried a backpack in their hand,” the FBI said.

On Friday, the Washington Post obtained exclusive video of the suspect moments before the unknown person allegedly placed a bomb in an alley behind the Republican National Committee building.

From the Post’s report:

On Jan. 5 at 8:13 p.m., a security camera captured the suspect carrying a backpack, according to a resident who reviewed the footage and provided a copy to the FBI. The suspect was walking eastbound on C Street SE, headed toward an entrance to an alley that curved toward the Republican National Committee building. The Post did not obtain that footage but confirmed the homeowner’s account with a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation.

Seconds later, in video obtained by The Post, the suspect can be seen in the alley, known as Rumsey Court. The individual is wearing a light-colored sweatshirt and carrying a backpack near their waist, matching photographs that have been released by the FBI, and walks west past a row of homes. The suspect is believed to be walking toward the area behind the Republican National Committee building and the Capitol Hill Club to place the explosive device, according to the official familiar with the investigation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.

Another video shows the suspect carrying a backpack near their waist as they approach the area where the bomb was discovered on Jan. 6. They appear to be wearing a mask and gloves. According to the law enforcement official, this is the last known sighting of the suspect before the placement of the bomb.

When federal officials asked the public for information about the suspect, they circulated still images drawn from this video. For unknown reasons, the suspect did not immediately leave the area. Another video obtained by The Post shows the suspect retracing their steps on Rumsey Court at 8:16 p.m., again walking westbound toward the RNC building. The individual is moving at a brisk pace and still carrying a backpack near their waist.

The Post reported that the FBI suspects this same individual of placing the bomb at the Democratic National Committee building.

More than 175 people have been arrested in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, during which five people were killed and more than 50 police officers were injured.

Finding the suspect who placed bombs at the RNC and DNC headquarters remains a top priority of the FBI.

51st state D.c. statehood Intelwars senate democrats US Constitution us senate washington dc

Senate Democrats introduce bill to make DC a state and effectively expand their Senate majority

Senate Democrats on Wednesday reintroduced a bill to make Washington, D.C., a state, an effort supported by President Joe Biden.

The legislation reintroduced today was first drafted and proposed in 2013. It would give citizens of the District of Columbia full authority over local issues and grant them full representation in Congress, the Hill reported.

“This isn’t a Republican or Democratic issue; it’s an American issue because the lack of fair representation for D.C. residents is clearly inconsistent with the values on which this country was founded,” Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), the bill’s sponsor, said.

Proponents for D.C. statehood argue that the city’s population of 712,000 residents is larger than small states like Vermont or Wyoming and comparable to others including Deleware and Alaska. They note that D.C. residents pay the highest per-capita federal income taxes in the U.S., that the city receives between 25% and 30% of its budget from the federal government, and that the only representation the district has in Congress is the non-voting Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton. The issue at hand is D.C. residents in support of statehood believe they are being taxed without representation.

Opponents of D.C. statehood raise constitutional concerns before discussing the merits of whether D.C. should be a state. The Department of Justice has previously advised Congress that it lacks the power to grant D.C. statehood. Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution stipulates that Congress retains the power “to exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of Government of the United States.” The District of Columbia was founded after Maryland and Virginia ceded territory to the federal government that was accepted by Congress for the purpose of creating the nation’s capital. The creation of a state government, critics say, would interfere with Congress’ exclusive powers over the District.

The response to that argument from D.C. statehood advocates such as D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is that the Constitution sets a maximum size for the District, “ten miles square,” but does not prohibit Congress from shrinking that area. “Creating the new state will require a simple reduction in the size of the federal district to an unpopulated area which includes the US Capitol, the National Mall, museums, some federal office buildings, the White House, the Supreme Court, and major national monuments,” a pro-statehood website set up by Mayor Bowser states.

Regardless of the constitutional questions, it is unlikely the bill will pass, even in a 50-50 Senate with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking tie votes. To overcome a filibuster, Democrats supporting the bill will need to win over at least 10 Republicans, who are not inclined to vote to admit two new likely Democratic senators representing D.C. into the chamber, strengthening the Democratic majority.

March for Life organizers announce no 2021 gathering, virtual event instead

Organizers for the March for Life announced Friday that the annual gathering of pro-life activists to protest abortion will take place virtually this year because of the coronavirus pandemic and the risk of unrest at the nation’s capital.

This year’s virtual march will take place on Jan. 29, the Catholic News Agency reported. There will still be an event in Washington, D.C., but attendance will be limited to a small number of pro-life leaders and speakers.

“The protection of all of those who participate in the annual March, as well as the many law enforcement personnel and others who work tirelessly each year to ensure a safe and peaceful event, is a top priority of the March for Life,” said Jeanne Mancini, president of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund.

“In light of the fact that we are in the midst of a pandemic which may be peaking, and in view of the heightened pressures that law enforcement officers and others are currently facing in and around the Capitol, this year’s March for Life will look different,” Mancini continued. “The annual rally will take place virtually and we are asking all participants to stay home and to join the March virtually.”

Those who wish to participate in the march are encouraged to do so virtually through the March for Life’s website.

“We will invite a small group of pro-life leaders from across the country to march in Washington, D.C., this year,” Mancini said. “These leaders will represent pro-life Americans everywhere who, each in their own unique ways, work to make abortion unthinkable and build a culture where every human life is valued and protected.”

Catholic News Agency reported that the pro-life leaders who will be in the nation’s capital will carry roses with them, which they will bring to the steps of the Supreme Court to honor the lives lost to abortion.

Mancini concluded saying the March for Life “is profoundly grateful for the countless women, men, and families who sacrifice to come out in such great numbers each year as a witness for life — and we look forward to being together in person next year. As for this year’s march, we look forward to being with you virtually.”

The March for Life takes place annually on or near Jan. 22, the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion across the United States. In past years, the march has drawn crowds hundreds of thousands of volunteer activists to protest in support of the victims of abortion.

Report: National Guard briefed on improvised explosive device threat in DC

United States National Guard troops deployed in Washington, D.C., have been told to prepare for the possibility that individuals plotting violence in the Capitol during and around President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration may use improvised explosive devices like those found during the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.

Two Guardsmen who were reportedly briefed on the matter told Politico that law enforcement officials believe the pipe bombs discovered at the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee headquarters were not isolated events. The individual(s) who planted those bombs have not yet been identified by authorities. The FBI has posted a $50,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension of the perpetrators.

In anticipation of armed protests on Inauguration Day, National Guard troops have been authorized to bear arms in the Capitol. A “significant majority” of troops are carrying M-4 rifles and many are also armed with M-9 handguns, Politico reports.

“Our primary objective is to provide support to local authorities,” said Guard spokesperson Tracy O’Grady Walsh. While deployed, the Guard will be tasked with crowd management, traffic control, parking coordination and medical and logistical support to local authorities.

“The public’s safety is our top priority,” she added.

Local and federal officials say as many as 20,000 National Guard troops will be deployed in the Capitol for security purposes. The District of Columbia has received commitments from the Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York National Guards to send reinforcements, WTTG-TV reports. Other states will send troops as well.

In the week since the Jan. 6 riots, the Guard has constructed a 7-foot tall non-scalable wall around the perimeter of the Capitol building. Armed troops are stationed in the halls of the Capitol building.

Democratic lawmakers say they have been briefed by law enforcement on three plans for demonstrations in the Capitol that could potentially turn violent. One of these plans involves a call to arms for thousands of armed “patriots” who want to attempt to surround the Capitol building and prevent Democratic lawmakers from entering, according to Rep. Conor Lamb (D-Pa.) who described the briefing to CNN.

On Wednesday, the Daily Beast reported that the Secret Service has issued an intelligence briefing warning of additional armed protests as well. The briefing, which was unclassified but not distributed outside of law enforcement, states that one demonstration is scheduled to take place before the inauguration and that the organizers were encouraging attendees to bring weapons.

Federal and local law enforcement and the National Guard are working to ensure the safety of everyone in Washington, D.C., and other state capitals that may experience protests.

Inauguration Day is usually one where hundreds of thousands of people from both parties pack the National Mall to celebrate the swearing in of the president. It’s marked by celebrations, parades, concerts, and other events.

But not this year.

President-elect Joe Biden and his team already announced the event would be scaled back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Now the mayor of Washington, D.C., is looking to make it even smaller by asking everybody to stay put and avoid the capital city, and she is calling for a massive increase in the already significant federal security presence.

What did she say?

At a news conference Monday, Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser urged Americans to stay away from the Jan. 20 Inauguration.

The mayor said she was worried about a repeat of what the world saw at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday because, she said, “Trumpism won’t die on Jan. 20.”

“If I’m scared of anything, it’s for our democracy,” Bowser said, “because we have very extreme factions in our country that are armed and dangerous.”

Her statement echoed what she told CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday:

I think what we have seen is real domestic terrorism in our nation’s capital, and that’s what we need to call it. Who we saw charging the Capitol building were trained people in many cases — former military, former law enforcement. I think we may find other trained people, trained at marching and surging and sieging buildings. So we have to take it seriously. We, too, have to take seriously how we’re spreading our resources. That’s why we’re very focused on making sure that the federal government is providing enough coverage for federal facilities, including the Capitol, but many federal buildings across the district so that other law enforcement, our law enforcement can focus on other threats across the district’s eight wards.

With that mindset, the mayor declared, “Our goals right now are to encourage Americans to participate virtually and to protect the District of Columbia from a repeat of the violent insurrection experienced at the Capitol and its grounds.”

Bowser also asked the Department of Homeland Security extend the span of time and perimeter for the Inauguration’s “national special security event” designation and told CBS News that she want the president to “declare a pre-emergency declaration” for the district that will allow for greater federal coordination.

CNN reported that the Pentagon is considering boosting the number of guardsman in the city to 13,000 for the Inauguration, up from about 7,000 that were planned before Wednesday’s riots.

Trump supporters clash with police in DC protest ahead of Wednesday’s planned rally

Supporters of President Donald Trump clashed with Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police on Tuesday night, on the eve of a planned rally in support of the president’s ongoing challenge to the results of the 2020 presidential election called for President-elect Joe Biden.

Footage on the ground shows pepper spray being deployed by officers and some protesters condemning law enforcement as officers sought to keep the peace at Black Lives Matter Plaza, where counterprotesters had also reportedly congregated.

What are the details?

Trump supporters from across the U.S. converged on the nation’s capital city ahead of the “Save America March” set for Wednesday, when
the president plans to address the rally.

Late Tuesday evening, video from independent journalists and photographs from Getty Images showed skirmishes from the scene and one woman with a bloodied face who said she was assaulted by a Black Lives Matter activist.

Journalist Brendan Gutenschwager reported that Trump supporters and the Proud Boys attempted to enter BLM Plaza but police pushed back against the protesters seeking access. Several clips show officers using pepper spray to push back the crowd, in what the reporter called a “chaotic scene.”

Following pushback from police and the arrests of some Trump supporters, one man was seen on camera berating officers, telling them, “You lost both sides of support. We had your f***ing back, but we ain’t got your back no more!”

Journalist Tomas Morales shared footage online showing a woman badly bloodied, who says on the video that she was hit by a BLM supporter and that the police protected the alleged assailant.

A photographer from Getty Images also documented the woman’s injuries, saying the woman was “struck in the face when police attempted to push back a group of pro-Trump protesters that tried to push through their lines into Black Lives Matter Plaza.”

According to Morales, as of around 11 p.m. EST, riot police remained “on standby outside of BLM Plaza.”

Mayor of DC Reuested National Guard Presence at Wednesday’s MAGA Rally

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has requested National Guard troops to be present during Wednesday’s “Stop the Steal” rally in support of President Donald Trump. Bowser has also urged residents to avoid downtown as Trump supporters plan to descend on the United States capital to protest the certification of Joe Biden’s election victory.

The presence of the military during a rally is definitely a ramping up of tensions. However, ironically, the mayor made no such call for military help when Black Lives Matter protesters set fires, vandalized national monuments, and hurled rocks and bottles of urine at Secret Service agents earlier this year, as RT pointed out.

In fact, Bowser in June called on Trump to withdraw National Guard soldiers and other federal forces who had been deployed to help quell riots at the time.

“This Quickly Escalates Into Open Warfare” – Why The Government Is Preparing For Post-Election Chaos

Bowser’s office told media outlets on Monday that she had asked the National Guard to send about 340 unarmed troops to help District of Columbia police and firefighters to manage demonstrations by supporters of President Trump, but noted only 115 would be deployed at once. The mayor advised Washington residents to stay out of the downtown area and refrain from engaging with protesters who come to our city seeking confrontation.”

But some have been reminding the mayor of which groups have been notorious for violence and destruction.

The mayor has often sided with destructive and violent groups. She renamed a street in front of the White House Black Lives Matter Plaza and ordered that the BLM slogan be painted on the pavement in giant letters. Some people are rightly pointing out her cowardice and hypocrisy.

Perhaps the national guard presence is more about the possible confrontation between the two divided political factions, and less about who throws the first punch.  Hopefully, people start to figure out who is keeping the public divided so they can enslave them. Spoiler: It’s the ruling class, aka, politicians like Muriel Bowser.

Proud Boys leader arrested for burning Black Lives Matter banner, police investigate as hate crime

The leader of the Proud Boys was arrested Monday upon entering Washington, D.C., for allegedly destroying a Black Lives Matter banner that belonged to a church.

What are the details?

Enrique Tarrio, chairman of the Proud Boys, was traveling to the nation’s capital to participate in protests happening there on Wednesday. Supporters of President Donald Trump are gathering in Washington to demonstrate against congressional certification of the Electoral College results.

Police arrested Tarrio, who is from Miami, for allegedly burning a Black Lives Matter banner at Asbury United Methodist Church last month, one of the oldest black churches in Washington, D.C.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department told the New York Times that Tarrio was charged with destruction of property.

Police said they were investigating the incident as a “potential hate crime,” according to the Times. It happened during protests in mid-December when Trump supporters gathered for a “stop the steal” rally. The demonstrations later gave way to violent clashes between Antifa and the Proud Boys.

What has Tarrio said?

Tarrio has admitted to stealing and burning the Black Lives Matter banner.

CNN reported:

He took responsibility for the act last month, writing in a post on the social media website Parler that “against the wishes of my attorney I am here today to admit that I am the person responsible for the burning of this sign.” In the same post, Tarrio also dared the police to arrest him, writing: “Come get me if you feel like what I did was wrong. We’ll let the public decide.” Tarrio also took responsibility during a “WarBoys” podcast interview last month, praising himself as “the person that went ahead and put the lighter to it and engulfed it in flames.”

In an interview with the Washington Post, Tarrio even admitted that he would plead guilty to the crime.

“I’ll fly there on my own dime. I have nothing to hide,” Tarrio told the Post last month. “So, let me make this simple. I did it.”

Anything else?

Not only was Tarrio charged with destruction of property for the Black Lives Matter banner incident, but police also charged him with “possession of a high capacity feeding device.”

“At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of two high capacity firearm magazine,” police spokesman Sean Hickman told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Possession of high capacity firearm magazines is prohibited in Washington, D.C., and are defined as “magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition.”

DC mayor calls in National Guard ahead of Jan. 6 protests that President Trump will attend

The mayor of Washington, D.C., activated an estimated 340 National Guard troops on Monday as the city prepares for expected protests later this week when Congress will vote to affirm President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory.

The Associated Press reported that on New Year’s Eve Mayor Muriel Browser requested a National Guard presence within the city from Jan. 5 to Jan. 7 in anticipation of the vote. The troops will not be armed and will not wear body armor. They are mostly expected to be used for traffic control and “other assistance.”

In a statement released Sunday, Bowser asked city residents to avoid the areas in downtown D.C. where President Donald Trump’s supporters will gather to protest the results of the 2020 election. She told residents “not to engage with demonstrators who come to our city seeking confrontation, and we will do what we must to ensure all who attend remain peaceful.”

On Monday, she repeated her warning at a news conference, urging residents to avoid those “looking for a fight.” She also warned “we will not allow people to incite violence, intimidate our residents or cause destruction in our city.”

According to the Associated Press, about 115 troops will be on duty at any one time in the city, setting up traffic control points and working with local law enforcement to manage crowds.

“Some of our intelligence certainly suggests there will be increased crowd sizes,” acting Police Chief Robert Contee said. “There are people intent on coming to our city armed.”

Demonstrators are reportedly planning to gather at the Washington Monument, the Freedom Plaza and the Capitol.

It is illegal to openly carry firearms in Washington, D.C. Concealed-carry permits from other states will not allow the permit holder to carry a firearm inside the district. Additionally, federal law prohibits firearms at popular protest sites including Freedom Plaza, and the National Mall, while D.C. law bans guns within 1,000 feet of a protest.

President Trump said Sunday he will attend the protests in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, when Congress will vote to certify the Electoral College results that Biden won 306-232. Trump has not yet conceded the election and continues to claim that widespread voter fraud stole the election for Biden.

Some Republican lawmakers plan on objecting to the certification of the Electoral College votes, which will trigger several hours of debate that could delay the process but will likely fall short of persuading enough members of Congress to vote against rejecting the results.

Antifa violence christian Intelwars Jesus Christ Physical attack Stop the steal rally Sucker punch washington dc watch

‘Jesus Christ is coming back!’ declares apparent Trump supporter after DC rally. Antifa militant punches him from behind in head soon after.

With every cowardly attack, Antifa is drawing a pretty clear picture of what the leftist militants are all about:

What’s the latest?

Oh, almost forgot: Antifa bros also like to attack their opponents from behind. And that stomach-turning tactic was on full display after the rally supporting President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

A couple was caught on video strolling down the sidewalk with a gang of Antifa militants following them.

Image source: Instagram video screenshot via @livesmatterofficial

Then the man — an apparent Trump supporter — declares as video rolls that “Jesus Christ is coming again!”

There’s a brief cut in the clip that shows the couple having moved down the sidewalk about a building’s length — and then a rather large Antifa militant comes up to the man from behind and wallops him in the side of the head:

Image source: Instagram video screenshot via @livesmatterofficial

Soon after the victim apparently was maced:

Image source: Instagram video screenshot via @livesmatterofficial

But does the leftist who hit the man stick around to finish him off? Nope. As noted above, Antifa also are very adept at running away — and that’s just what this tough guy did.

Not that it deterred the victim at all, who put aside turning the other cheek for the moment and ran after his assailant:

Image source: Instagram video screenshot via @livesmatterofficial

But alas, it was to no avail; the Antifa bro was rather fleet of foot.

At some other point in the proceedings the victim — after being punched in the head from behind and maced — was tackled from behind near a bicycle by yet another Antifa militant who also punched him from behind several times:

Of course, like clockwork, the assailant scoots away. The victim appears to have some sort of baton on him. Maybe it would come in handy — if his attackers ever manage the guts to come at him face to face.

VIDEO: BLM and Antifa brawl with Trump supporters ahead of ‘Stop the Steal’ rally in DC

There will be a large pro-Trump rally in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, where supporters will gather in solidarity for the president challenging the results of the 2020 election. Ahead of the Trump rally, there were already violent clashes on Friday night between pro-Trump groups and purported members of Black Lives Matter and Antifa.

Hundreds of Trump supporters gathered in D.C. on Friday, the night before the “Stop the Steal” rally, as seen in footage from videographer Tomas Morales. Video from Raws Media shows pro-Trump groups sing the Star-Spangled Banner, and chanting: “America first!” and “U-S-A! U-S-A!”

Trump supporters carried a massive American flag through the D.C. streets to display their patriotic pride.

Meanwhile, a music band was playing a song with anti-Metropolitan Police lyrics: “DC hates you, f*** you MPD.” The video was shared by TheBlaze reporter Elijah Schaffer, host of the “Slightly Offens*ve” show.

(Content Warning: Explicit language):

While walking through Black Lives Matter Plaza, Trump supporters were harassed and threatened by Antifa and BLM members. Antifa allegedly maced a Trump supporter in the face.

Then just before midnight, several brawls erupted between a reported coalition of Antifa with BLM versus pro-Trump groups, including Proud Boys, according to investigative reporter Drew Hernandez. Members of the Proud Boys could be heard chanting: “F*** Antifa!” There were reportedly several injuries and arrests because of the fighting.

Friday’s rally happened just three days before the Electoral College formally casts their votes in the 2020 presidential election.

As of 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Trump supporters had begun to assemble at Washington’s Freedom Plaza for the “Stop the Steal” rally.

Michael Flynn delivered a speech outside the Supreme Court at the “Stop the Steal” rally on Saturday morning in support of President Donald Trump challenging the election results.

Nearly a month ago, there was a pro-Trump rally dubbed the “Million MAGA March” in Washington, D.C., where supporters of the president were attacked, including the elderly and families.

BLM counterprotester who attacked Trump supporter at Million MAGA March reportedly ID’d as journalism student

A Black Lives Matter protester who was filmed punching a Trump supporter in the head at last weekend’s Million MAGA March in Washington, D.C., has reportedly been identified as a journalism student.

Violence erupted in the nation’s capital Saturday when Black Lives Matter and Antifa groups clashed with Trump supporters marching to protest the disputed results of the 2020 presidential election. Graphic videos of multiple attacks in D.C. were posted on social media, including video of a protester running up and punching a Trump supporter from behind at Black Lives Matter Plaza.

The Post Millennial reported that the assailant in the video is Brittany S. McAlister, 29, of Washington, D.C. McAlister is a student studying journalism at Howard University and also works as a freelance journalist, according to the Post Millennial.

In another incident captured on video, McAlister allegedly kicked an unconscious man after he had reportedly been been sucker-punched by Kenneth Wayne Deberry, 39, who was arrested and charged by police.

According to a news release from the Metropolitan Police Department, McAlister has not been arrested and is not yet charged with any crime, though police say they are looking for the suspect in the film.

D.C. police are asking for help identifying suspects in violent crimes captured on video Saturday.

The Post Millennial reported screenshots of a tweet from the far-left group Refuse Fascism that has since been deleted profiling McAlister, who gave a speech at Black Lives Matter Plaza. McAlister’s social media accounts have been deactivated.

Thousands of Trump supporters had gathered in D.C. for a “Stop the Steal” rally at Freedom Plaza to show support for President Donald Trump as his campaign continues to challenge the results of the election. During the day protests were peaceful. But as night fell, counterprotesters committed acts of violence against Trump supporters. People were attacked from behind, an elderly man was shoved to the ground, a couple was harassed, and others were brutally beaten, with horrifying video of the attacks circulating on social media.

Police arrested at least 21 people in D.C. following these violent incidents.

President Trump weighed in on the violence on Twitter, criticizing D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for “not doing her job.”

In a statement given to Fox News, Howard University strongly condemned “all forms of violence and abhorrent behavior.”

“The University has stringent policies and procedures in place to investigate potential wrongdoing and will take the appropriate action against any student found to be in violation of our Code of Conduct,” the university said.

Elderly Trump supporter attacked, protesters shoot fireworks at diners, surround hotel of Million MAGA March attendees

Thousands of Trump supporters gathered in Washington, D.C., on Saturday for the Million MAGA March. The first hours of the rally for President Donald Trump was a peaceful protest. Then counterprotesters entered the area by mid-afternoon. Right before nightfall, there were numerous attacks on Trump supporters, including an assault of a multiracial family and one man was knocked out. The violence against Trump supporters only grew as the massive crowds from the “Stop the Steal” rally diminished and the sun set.

A swarm of counterprotesters surrounded and harassed an elderly couple holding a Trump flag in Washington, D.C. Some in the group were holding signs for Refuse Fascism, a self-described “national movement organizing to drive out the Trump/Pence regime.”

An elderly man was shoved to the ground when he attempted to get on a bicycle in Black Lives Matter Plaza. Then an agitator held the man’s bike down, and he retaliates by shoving him. As the man is walking away, the crowd tosses a liquid at him and starts chanting: “Black lives matter!”

A teen couple attempted to flee from a gang of counterprotesters; the girl is seen terrified and crying. They are hit with liquid, and then two women try to rip the girl’s “Make America Great Again” hat from her hands, as seen in footage taken by Drew Hernandez.

Black bloc assailants brutally attack a man and then beat him with a flagpole attached to an American flag. A person on a megaphone shouts, “What the f*** did you think was gonna happen?”

Black bloc protesters shot fireworks at Trump supporters who were dining outside. One of the fireworks exploded dangerously close to a couple.

Hundreds of anti-fascist and Black Lives Matter supporters swarmed hotels that Trump supporters were staying in try to intimidate them. The crowd, some waving Biden flags, chant: “F*** Donald Trump.”

Police used a chemical agent on anti-Trump protesters after they refused to back away from the Capital Hilton.

A street store selling MAGA merchandise was completely ransacked.

There was a huge brawl between Proud Boys and anti-fascists.

Despite all of the violence directed against them, Trump supporters rallied on Saturday night to sing the national anthem in unison.

Daily Caller photojournalist Jorge Ventura shared his footage of physical attacks that occurred during the Million MAGA March with authorities, which reportedly led to the arrest of five assailants.

Several Trump supporters brutally assaulted at Million MAGA March, man knocked unconscious

For days, anarchist and anti-fascist groups planned counterprotests to “overwhelm” Trump supporters at the Million MAGA March on Saturday. A group of counterprotesters were carrying signs that said, “Punch MAGA in the face.” Some counterprotesters became violent, and footage from the Million MAGA March shows several Trump supporters being attacked. One Trump supporter was brutally knocked out.

The mood was mostly festive at the Million MAGA March for the first few hours with exuberant chants of “U-S-A!,” Stop the steal,” and “Trump 2020!”

However, there were outbreaks of violence as more anti-Trump agitators assembled in Washington, D.C. A female Trump supporter was punched in the back of the head when she wasn’t looking as seen in footage captured by photojournalist Savanah Hernandez.

A man was reportedly attacked by a “man in black bloc at a counter-protest march.” The victim appears visibly dazed from the assault and his head is bleeding.

An anti-Trump assailant also punched another Trump supporter in the back of the head. Video from field reporter Jorge Ventura shows a mob of people attacking a man, landing several sucker punches. Then one attacker winds up and punches him in the head from behind, knocking him unconscious. As the man lay motionless on the ground, several counterprotesters stepped on his body. The man’s face was covered in blood.

Protesters stole a Gadsden flag and were sharpening the wooden flagpole, according to independent reporter Brendan Gutenschwager.

Black bloc vandals attempted to open the door of Jeep with Trump supporters inside, then attempted to smash the car windows. As the vehicle drove away, it appears that they hurled a golf ball at the car in a video taken by Drew Hernandez.

BLM and anti-fascist supporters attack multiracial family at Million MAGA March

An ugly scene developed at the Million MAGA March on Saturday when a Black Lives Matter supporter and a man who was marching with an anti-fascist group harassed a multiracial family that was out showing their support for President Donald Trump.

Thousands of Trump supporters converged on Washington, D.C., on Saturday to rally around Trump. However, tensions flared in the afternoon after hordes of counterprotesters assembled.

One of the counterprotest groups at the Trump rally was Refuse Fascism, a self-described “national movement organizing to drive out the Trump/Pence regime.” The anti-fascist group had announced days earlier that they were holding a counterprotest to “overwhelm” Trump supporters.

“We are gathering non-violently,” Lucha Bright of Refuse Fascism told WUSA-TV. “We are not intending to engage them. We want to overwhelm them with our numbers. If they attack us, that is not out of the realm of possibilities of what they do. But we are hoping, especially if we gather in large numbers, that we will overwhelm them with our strength.”

Video from Saturday shows a group dressed in all black holding bright orange “Refuse Fascism” signs pursue a multiracial family, which included three young children. Several people in the mob get in the face of the black mother who is wearing a Trump jacket and pushing a stroller with an infant at Black Lives Matter Plaza.

A woman wearing a “Black Lives Matter” shirt gets in the face of the mother, but is separated by a man, presumably the father. Then the BLM supporter gets in the face of the father, and it sounds as if she screams at him, “You’re an ugly b****!” The mother yells, “Get away!” One of the daughters is seen crying.

The father prods the woman with his flag pole to keep the woman at a distance. The woman then charges at the father to try to take away his Gadsden flag, he waves her off with his hand. Then a man dressed in all black that was walking with the anti-fascist group advances at the father and attacks him.

The father retaliates by hitting the man with the flagpole. The woman runs at the father and is also struck with the flagpole. The father gets shoved to the pavement, and he falls on top of the small child, who screams in pain. Police immediately separate the two sides.

Video taken by photojournalist Jorge Ventura shows the woman and the man had bruises on their heads.

In another video, couple holding a “Refuse Fascism” sign harass a reported Trump supporter who’s son appears to be wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

Earlier in the day, there were black bloc protesters with signs that read: “Punch MAGA in the face,” who antagonized Trump supporters gathered near the Supreme Court, where a scuffle broke out.

Before the counterprotesters arrived on the scene, thousands of Trump supporters sang the “Star-Spangled Banner” in unison.

Before the Million MAGA March kicked off, Trump drove by in his motorcade and gleefully waved to his supporters.

Anarchist and anti-fascist groups planning to ‘overwhelm’ ‘Million MAGA March’ in DC — Trump hints at attending

Trump supporters will gather Saturday in Washington, D.C., for the “Million MAGA March” and a “Stop the Steal” rally. Anarchist and anti-fascist groups have responded by planning counterprotests.

Pro-Trump groups from around the country will converge on the nation’s capital this weekend to rally around President Donald Trump. The Trump supporters will assemble at noon Saturday at Freedom Plaza, near the White House and along the National Mall.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Thursday she expects the Million MAGA March to be “quite large.”

Trump supporters had already gathered in D.C. on Friday afternoon, 24 hours before the Million MAGA March.

On Friday afternoon, President Trump hinted that he may make an appearance at the event.

“Heartwarming to see all of the tremendous support out there, especially the organic Rallies that are springing up all over the Country, including a big one on Saturday in D.C. I may even try to stop by and say hello,” Trump tweeted. “This Election was Rigged, from Dominion all the way up & down!”

Several counterprotests have been scheduled by left-wing groups.

Refuse Fascism, a self-described “national movement organizing to drive out the Trump/Pence regime,” has scheduled its counterprotest to take place 30 minutes before the Trump rally at Freedom Plaza in an effort to “overwhelm” Trump supporters.

Andy Zee, a member of the Refuse Fascism Editorial Board, said, “We must not allow the Trump/Pence regime to illegitimately overturn this election. That is why it is so urgent that people come out on Saturday to say no to Trump still trying to steal the election.”

“Trump and his minions LOST! Now they are planning a One Million MAGA March this Saturday in Washington D.C. We must STAND on our victory and not allow them to dominate the public discourse or the public square,” the description of the counterprotest reads. “They are trying to steal the elections by sewing confusing about the election results & to intimidate people.”

At the time of publication, only 19 people have signed up on the website to attend the event.

They/Them Collective, a self-described “anarchist abolitionist” group, has planned a “F*** MAGA” protest at noon Saturday at the Supreme Court, according to DCist. The invitation for the protest reads, “Last time white liberals told us to ignore the fash back in 2016 he became president for 3 years, 297 days, 6 hours, 49 minutes, 48 seconds.” The group encourages participants to “wear black.”

All Out D.C., a “collective of D.C. antifascist activists” aiming to “burn down the American plantation,” planned a noon protest Saturday to “defend D.C. from white nationalism and secure a trump-free future.” The group advocates attendees “wear black to show solidarity.”

The right-wing Proud Boys group, self-described “western chauvinists,” will also be at the Million MAGA March. Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio told CBS News, “We’re known for fighting back. I’m not going to hide that, I’m not going to apologize for it.”

“There’s 70 million pissed off Americans and not one building has been burned down. I think if the president wouldn’t won that night, there would have been chaos,” Tarrio said of Election Day results.

District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) said police would be out in numbers to ensure peaceful First Amendment demonstrations.

“We continue to follow those activities and be prepared for those activities,” Bowser told reporters on Tuesday. “Our police chief will have a similar posture this weekend as he did last week. And we will be there to support peaceful exercise of First Amendment demonstrations.

“The gun laws here are different than in other places. People who have a permit to carry a weapon can carry a weapon,” she added. “We call it a concealed carry permit.”

Pro-Trump groups plan weekend #StopTheSteal MAGA march in D.C.

An assortment of pro-Trump groups will rally Saturday in Washington, D.C., to protest perceived election fraud and support President Donald Trump, who has not yet conceded the presidential election to former Vice President Joe Biden.

Various groups, including the Million MAGA March, Women for Trump, and Stop the Steal DC have invited all Trump supporters to participate in an organized protest at noon Saturday at Freedom Plaza, near the White House and along the National Mall, multiple outlets reported.

According to WDVM-TV, counterprotests are planned at Black Lives Matter Plaza. The Metropolitan Police Department released plans for no parking zones in and around the downtown area to accommodate the protests.

“Our Police Chief will have a similar posture this weekend as he did last week, and we will be there to support peaceful exercise of First Amendment demonstrations,” D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said at a news conference.

D.C. police reportedly advised those who plan to attend the protests that the capital’s notoriously strict gun laws will be enforced.

WTOP national security correspondent J.J. Green reported that while the planned protests are gaining attention and interaction on social media, some followers are skeptical of the wisdom of traveling to Washington.

“There are not a lot of people biting on this; there are a lot of people following them on social media. But there are a lot of people that are doubtful about the wisdom of coming here to do this,” Green said.

The protests are already being characterized as “white nationalist” by mainstream media outlets. Politico reported that “Oath Keepers, Three Percenters, Infowars fanatics, Groypers, Proud Boys, white nationalists, neo-Nazis and the people who would simply call themselves die-hard MAGA” plan to attend.

WTOP’s report noted that federal, state, and local law enforcement organizations are monitoring the groups planning to attend the protest. Green reported that it is “not likely” that a repeat of the 2017 clash between white nationalists and counterprotesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, will happen again.

“In part because authorities here are so well-prepared and have that knowledge under their belt. And … you can’t carry guns in D.C. … I’m pretty sure that any organizers are making it very clear to people who come to D.C., ‘Do not bring a gun.’ Other weapons maybe, but it’s not likely that this is going to turn into that,” Green said.

The Twitter account for Million Mega March posted a public prayer asking God to let the march happen peacefully, “without conflict from those who wish to agitate and cause violence.”
