Pat Gray: A sperm bank on the moon?

Scientists are beginning to map out how they will send and store “6.7 million of Earth’s species [including human]” to a sperm bank on the moon.

The New York Post reported, “In what they’re calling a ‘modern global insurance policy,’ mechanical engineers have proposed that humans establish a repository of reproductive cells — sperm and ova — from 6.7 million of Earth’s species, including human.”

Pat Gray, Jeffy Fisher, and Keith Malinak covered the story and raised some poignant questions. Who will guard the sperm bank on the moon? How much time and resources will be required to build the sperm bank?

The guys also discussed the massive load of batteries recently launched into outer space adding to the growing space litter problem. Watch the clip for more from Thursday’s episode of “Pat Gray Unleashed.”

The Absurdity of Lockdown 2.0

This article was originally published by Shane J. Coules at The Mises Institute.

“A man walks through an eerily quiet, once-busy street lined with closed-down stores and burnt-out vehicles. Some of the storefronts display boarded-up windows, others with spattered red paint on the glass-like blood on a wrecked car’s windshield. Some of the stores have been victims of looting, the shards of glass on the ground a diamond-like reminder of the recent mayhem. Our protagonist takes a deep breath; the sound audible in the vast silence. He releases the breath slowly and continues to walk. His nostrils flare. He detects a familiar smell in the air: something’s burning. His ears twitch as he hears the distant roar of a mob, the volume rising with each step he takes. He sees in the distance a fiery orange glow growing larger; the fire that has been raging for months, continuing to spread.”

The above scene may sound like the prologue of an apocalyptic novel by, say, Stephen King. But it could easily be a blend of scenes from 2020: moments pulled from a nightmarish year—the end of which most of us will be happy to see.

And as countries throughout Europe and some states in the US move into a second wave of covid-inspired lockdowns, it’s worth reflecting on what we’ve encountered thus far in this surreal year, and ruminating on the absurdity of a second lockdown.

“Stay at Home. Wear a Mask. Science Is Real.”

If I had a dollar for every time I heard or saw those three short statements bandied about on- and offline, I’d have quite a few, although admittedly I wouldn’t be rich. But I’d likely be in a better position than many small businesses that have been thrown into the unforgiving sea by their government only to be tossed a meager life vest by the same people who wrestled them overboard in the first place. It’s worth noting that the life vest hasn’t been enough to save some from sinking to the murky depths—with many more to follow suit.

Let us take a moment to consider those three regularly regurgitated phrases:

Stay at home. This was and still is the order given by many governments around the world, telling their citizens that they should venture outside only if it is “essential” or for a spell of light exercise. Limits on how far you can travel (in Ireland, for example, it’s within a five-kilometer radius of your home), and how many people from other households you can invite into your privately owned property (again, in Ireland this number is zero as of this writing, and that includes your front and backyard), have been declared by the powers that be. Fines, public shaming (do not dare question these measures or partake in anti-lockdown protests!), and a bad reputation await those who break these rules.

Wear a mask. While this writer personally has no problem wearing a face mask if a business owner requests it, it is interesting to note that years of scientific analyses on the effectiveness of face masks when it comes to hampering the spread of infectious respiratory illnesses like the flu, have shown it to be negligible. Go to the CDC’s (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) website right now and you’ll read that “no recommendation can be made at this time for mask use in the community by asymptomatic persons, including those at high risk for complications, to prevent exposure to influenza viruses.” While Covid-19 and flu are similar illnesses, they come from different viruses, and the former is more infectious than the latter. It is also worth noting that the science around face masks is indeed still disputed by experts, and it’s even been argued that wearing masks can enhance the spread of the virus because people can be less mindful of social distancing while touching their nose and mouth more than they would when not wearing one.

But even if we accept that masks are definitely effective in slowing the spread of the disease—as recent studies have indeed claimed—overconfidence and inconsistency from experts and public figures throughout the pandemic has left public trust in them wanting to say the least. For instance, the US surgeon general in February urged citizens (in all caps no less) to “STOP BUYING MASKS!,” adding that they weren’t effective in preventing the general public from catching coronavirus. Even as late as March, New York mayor Bill de Blasio told residents to “get on with your lives” and “go out on the town despite coronavirus,” while the UK chief medical officer told UK denizens to not wear face masks. Meanwhile, the WHO and the CDC had both argued against the use of masks in the early months of the outbreak. While things may have changed in recent months due to the aforementioned new studies, we still have countries like Sweden not mandating mask-wearing as we approach the end of this bizarre year (note: Sweden’s daily number of covid deaths hasn’t risen above ten since mid-July and has since generally been below five). Can you really blame people for being just a little skeptical of those in positions of power?

Science is real. To end so emphatically (and condescendingly), you would hope that the person speaking those patronizing words has science on their side. But as one of the world’s most senior epidemiologists, Johan Giesecke, advisor to the Swedish government, said back in April: UK and European policies on lockdown are not evidence-based. And then we can remind ourselves of the now infamous Neil Ferguson–led Imperial College London study which determined that up to five hundred thousand lives could be lost in the UK alone. It was later revealed that the modeling used for the study was outdated, and thus the calculations dramatically inflated. For what it’s worth, Ferguson also said back in 2005 that 150 to 200 million people could die from the bird flu. The number of worldwide fatalities from bird flu between 2003 and 2009 was…282. So, science is real. Stop being a bad person. Listen to the experts and do not question them. Ever.

Prolockdowners Are de Facto “Pro-recession”

Another common line that has been doing the rounds over the last nine months is “placing the economy above society is wrong.” This statement brings to mind F.A. Hayek’s famous words regarding socialists: people who don’t understand economics fail to understand how societies—and markets—function. Economies are essentially societies, and societies are essentially economies; a healthier economy is conducive to a healthier society. Of course, there will still be problems brought on by bad government policy (e.g., the war on drugs), individual behavior (e.g., poor choices), and misfortune (which can be alleviated by support networks and charities). Societies will always have issues: utopias are impossible.

By calling for lockdowns, people are essentially welcoming a recession. And with recession come countless societal ills—in case that hasn’t already been made evident by the depressions of the past. If government measures are about ensuring the well-being of the people, plunging a country into a recession and piling up debt sure is a strange way to go about it. At the national level, lockdowns and recessions cause sometimes irreparable damage to people’s livelihoods, their mental health, and their physical well-being. At the global level, widespread lockdowns are predicted to greatly exacerbate third-world famines, with “virus-linked hunger tied to 10,000 child deaths each month.” With tragedies like these, lockdowns are indeed a strange way to go about protecting the most vulnerable people.

The Immorality of Lockdowns

Pandemics like covid-19 are unusual for Europe and the United States. Being 100 percent prepared for them is impossible, because while tax-funded research is regularly conducted in the hope that countries can be as pandemic ready as possible, each new virus brings with it an air of mystery, and fears of the unknown aren’t completely irrational, after all.

But, putting such life-altering power—over matters such as forced lockdowns—in the hands of people who pay a negligible price for being wrong (some political damage, maybe) is not only asinine, it is plain wrong. Coercion is wrong. Taking the freedom of choice away from people by force is wrong. Tell the old woman living with a terminal illness that she must spend the final months of her life in isolation; that she can’t take a trip to the lake she’s visited since she was a child; that she can’t be surrounded by her loved ones during the remaining time she has left. Tell a business owner that their business isn’t essential. Tell the man who’s prone to depression and lives alone in a tiny studio apartment that this lockdown is for his own good. Tell the woman whose cancer diagnosis will be delayed—and thus her chances of survival reduced—that this lockdown is for her own good.

This is no different from telling an individual driver that “speed kills,” so tough—you can’t drive a car anymore. Or that alcohol is one of the biggest yearly killers, so tough—you can’t enjoy a beer anymore. Or that more than two hundred thousand children alone are treated in hospital every year from accidents related to bike riding, so tough—you can’t enjoy cycling anymore. The role of government isn’t to keep people safe from themselves or the dangers that come with living freely; there’s no reason why this shouldn’t apply to covid-19.

The Absurdity of Lockdown 2.0

For months now, data and experts have raised major questions around the efficacy of lockdowns in stopping the spread of the coronavirus and highlighted the damage caused by them. In the words of the Great Barrington Declaration (led by infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists), “lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short- and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings, and deteriorating mental health—leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden.” Even the WHO has said that lockdowns should be a very, very last resort. Argentina recently entered its two hundredth day of nationwide lockdown, yet daily new cases have been hovering between ten thousand and twenty thousand since August. These and countless other examples and warnings have gone unheeded in many countries as they enter another lockdown—all the while not giving people a say in the matter.

The Future Is a Choice

For many of us, the latest covid calamity is just another disappointing chapter in the dreadful tome that is big government. When we consider that “one cannot violate moral and economic laws without having to pay a price, and that one violation will, according to the ‘logic’ of state action, lead to more violations until the price that must be paid becomes intolerable,” more scenes of social unrest are likely. The scene we opened with today maybe a collage of moments from 2020; if things keep going in the same direction, it may be a glimpse into the not-too-distant future.

But there’s still time for people to see the major failures of bloated, bureaucratic government made up of people who pay little to no price for being wrong and wreaking economic havoc—covid or not—on its citizens (far from being punished, those in charge regularly reward themselves with hefty taxpayer-funded pensions). Gross mismanagement by distended governments that leads to further social unrest and far worse doesn’t have to be the future. As Ludwig von Mises said, “Whoever wants peace among nations must seek to limit the state and its influence most strictly.” Those wise words are applicable to peace within nations, too.

More Lockdowns Around The World As COVID-19 Cases Surge

Many European authorities have been reluctant to reimpose harsh lockdown measures after previous restrictions caused deep recessions and widespread bitterness. However, other countries, such as Ireland, have taken to intentionally destroying people’s livelihoods over what’s turning out to be a mild illness.

Economic Terrorism Continues: Ireland Imposes A 6-Week Lockdown

Ireland became the first European country to enter a second national lockdown and Germany’s daily cases leaped to a record high as the second wave of coronavirus spread gloom across the continent on Thursday. Germany is expected to launch new shutdowns and more restrictions on basic human rights to fight the “invisible enemy.” Heads of state governments and representatives of the federal chancellery and Chancellor Merkel have met to decide on new measures (harsher restrictions on freedom.)

Faced with the sharp rise in cases, authorities have toughened the scamdemic measures, such as banning large gatherings and making face masks compulsory on certain streets in Berlin.

Europe Locks Down Again, China Institutes MASS TESTING Of ENTIRE CITY

But Ireland’s five million people have been ordered to stay at home for six weeks, with non-essential businesses urged to shut up shop. The government has said this will result in about 150,000 jobs being lost.  Irish authorities have also imposed a strict five-kilometer (three-mile) travel limit, limited bars, and restaurants to takeaway only, and extended a ban on visits between households.

“It’s devastating to see us locked down again… during our busiest line-up for the Christmas period,” Dublin antique jeweler John Farrington told AFP this week.

The county of South Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom, which includes the city of Sheffield, will enter into “very high” alert or tier three restrictions for at least four weeks from Saturday, the UK government announced. This horrific decision will affect around 1.4 million people, taking the number under the very toughest restrictions to 7.3 million, or about 13 percent of England’s population, according to Medical Xpress.

In France, major cities including Paris were virtually deserted on the fifth night of a curfew affecting some 20 million people from 9pm. The number of patients in intensive care in France has surged past 2,000 for the first time since May. Elsewhere in Europe, Poland’s prime minister said he wanted “red zone” lockdown measures to be extended to the entire country amid a record spike in infections.

Back when the coronavirus news first broke, we warned that the harsh lockdowns imposed in China would spread, and they probably will again.  It doesn’t matter whether the public is in agreement with the totalitarian lockdowns or not, the ruling classes of the planet don’t give a damn and will take your freedom at will.

Do not assume we are out of the woods yet. Please prepare. That’s all the best advice I have right now.  There is no way to say what’s coming down the pike for us, but one thing for sure is that it is not going to be for our good.

Economic Terrorism Continues: Ireland Imposes A 6-Week Lockdown

The economic terrorism committed by governments worldwide is growing yet again. Ireland will be the first European country to return to a nationwide shutdown as COVID-19 cases rise, Prime Minister Micheal Martin said Monday.

Additionally, the government knows they are committing terrorism, as they admitted the lockdown is going to result in another 150,000 people losing their job or source of income over the next “couple of days,” Deputy Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said. The country is entering its highest level of coronavirus restrictions for six weeks, beginning midnight Wednesday night, according to a report by Activist Post.

The lockdown is being blamed on a “surge” in COVID-19 cases. Residents of Ireland are banned from traveling more than three miles away from their homes or going anywhere that is deemed “non-essential.” Following in Australia’s footsteps, it looks like Ireland may be the next country to see the New World Order’s martial law rolled out in force.

Australia is a Full-Scale Pilot Test For The New World Order

“We’re making a preemptive strike against the virus, acting before it’s too late,” Varadkar said during the news conference Monday. “Our objective is to change the structure of the virus to flatten the curve again to get it under control.” These new measures will be enforced by the police.

Police will continue to use road checkpoints to deter longer and nonessential journeys. Varadkar said there will be a penalty for travel beyond that distance, but he added that details are being finalized. There will be exemptions for work and essential purposes.

Ireland has seen nearly 51,000 confirmed cases and more than 1,850 deaths, according to the nation’s Department of Health. Cases have risen by 75% since the beginning of September, and the infection rate is 261 cases for every 100,000 people.  That means that for 51,000 cases, 150,000 people will lose their jobs in a country of almost 5 million.

Lockdowns are ramping up all over and the mainstream media continues to report on the surging cases of COVID-19 in the United States.  Be ready, because this scamdemic is not over. Anything is still possible. Stay prepared.

Here We Go: MSM Begins Propagating a “Third Wave” of COVID-19

The mainstream media has switched from reporting on the surge in coronavirus cases to propagating a “third wave” of COVID-19.  The MSM is calling the outlook “dire” as a way to panic the masses.

At this point, it would be a complete shock if we didn’t go into another lockdown.  Be ready, because the predictive programming is there once again.

With more than 40 million reported cases globally and 1.1 million deaths, the pandemic shows no sign of slowing down. In Ireland, a lockdown has been reimposed, as other pockets of Europe weigh similar restrictions again.

In the U.S., more than 8.2 million cases and more than 220,000 deaths have been reported to-date. While the rate of deaths has slowed, there is still a concern for some of the most vulnerable populations, where increasingly asymptomatic cases are being reported. Meanwhile, the case count has already hit more than 60,000 daily, with all regions of the country affected. –Yahoo

Dr. Leo Nissola, an immunotherapy scientist at Parker Institute in San Francisco, told Yahoo Finance: “Things are not looking pretty. The most difficult phase of the epidemic is ahead of us,” he said.

Axios reported that the “third wave is gaining steam.” The outlet further reported that high positivity rates indicate a worsening outbreak, and put together with the rise in cases and hospitalizations across the country, suggest that the U.S. is in bad shape. The big picture then, according to MSM, is that the virus is spreading throughout the U.S. It’s not concentrated in any one region, as it was during the previous waves.

Because they don’t have “isolated pockets of infections,” another more brutal lockdown could be coming. In fact, at this point, it would be shocking if they don’t try to pull off another one. Especially considering this little blurb from Axios:

This all means more deaths, more economic devastation, and more isolation and psychological strain. If we’d gotten the virus under control during the summer, we’d have saved ourselves from a lot of this coming pain.

Brace yourselves. Prepare. Remain alert. They are pushing this. This “third wave” reporting has ramped up substantially in the past 24 hours. People didn’t buy the second wave narrative, but will they fall for this one? Will something more sinister happen? Will the virus become more deadly? Everything is possible right now.  Use discernment, and most of all, check your preps and make sure you have what you need. Something is coming.

If You Feel Like Something Really, Really Bad Is About To Happen, You Are Definitely Not Alone

In 1847 Native Americans sent help to the Irish during a famine — now Ireland is returning the favor under coronavirus

The citizens of Ireland are raising money to help Native Americans in the United States suffering because of the pandemic in order to honor the gift that was sent to them during the Irish potato famine of 1847.

“From Ireland, 170 years later, the favour is returned!” read one message from a donor to the GoFundMe page set up to collect the donations. “To our Native American brothers and sisters in your moment of hardship.”

The campaign has collected more than $3.7 million for the beleaguered Navajo Nation and Hopi reservation.

Ethel Branch, who organized the campaign, said they are able to provide food, water and other necessary supplies because of the fund.

“It’s very unexpected, but it’s just incredible to see the solidarity and to see how much people who are so far away care about our community and have sympathy for what we’re experiencing,” Branch said to CNN.

Historians document that the Choctaw Nation responded to the famine and starvation the Irish people experienced in 1847 by collecting donations. They sent $170, the equivalent of $5,000 in today’s money to Ireland.

But the pandemic aid is just the latest act to recognize the selfless charity of the Choctaw in 1847. The Irish have commemorated the gift with a statue in 2017, and a scholarship fund in 2018.

Coronavirus COVID-19 Intelwars IRELAND National Emergency pandemic school closures

Ireland closes all schools, universities and restricts hospital, prison visits amid COVID-19 panic

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar announced Thursday that schools and colleges in Ireland would temporarily close their doors due to the ongoing coronavirus — or COVID-19 — outbreak, according to the BBC.

At least one person has died in Ireland at the time of this writing due to COVID-19.

What are the details?

Varadkar announced Thursday morning that the closures begin on Thursday and to last at least until March 29.

He also said that any indoor gatherings of more than 100 people — as well as outdoor gatherings of more than 500 people — should also be canceled. Varadkar added that people should begin to work remotely if they have the option.

“I know that some of this is coming as a real shock, and it is going to involve big changes in the way we live our lives, and I know I’m asking people to make enormous sacrifices, but we’re doing it for each other,” he said.

He continued, “Our economy will suffer, but it will bounce back. … Lost time in school or college will be recovered, and in time, our lives will go back to normal.”

“Ireland is a great nation,” Varadkar continued. “We’re great people. We’ve experienced hardship and struggle before [and] we’ve overcome many trials in the past.”

Airports and ports will remain operational, Irish Deputy Prime Minister Simon Coveney said, as well as shops and public transport.

“The actions we are announcing today are absolutely necessary and justified,” Coveney insisted. “We are asking people to continue to work. Those who go to their places of work should limit their contacts, particularly face-to-face meetings.”

He added, “We do need to respond with calm, with unity, with discipline, and resolve. These are the right measures at the right time based on the best public health advice.”

Irish Health Minister Simon Harris also revealed that all museums, galleries, and tourist attractions will close for the time being.

Tony Holohan, who is Ireland’s chief medical officer, also announced restrictions on visitors at public facilities such as hospitals and prisons.

“We’ve recommended that there be restrictions now on visiting hospitals, long-term care settings, mental health facilities, prisons, and spacing measures applied in homeless shelters,” he said. “We’ll continue to meet — not necessarily to identify new measures, but to continue to provide advice and guidance.”

Eavesdropping Intelwars IRELAND Russia

Russia Is Trying to Tap Transatlantic Cables

The Times of London is reporting that Russian agents are in Ireland probing transatlantic communications cables.

Ireland is the landing point for undersea cables which carry internet traffic between America, Britain and Europe. The cables enable millions of people to communicate and allow financial transactions to take place seamlessly.

Garda and military sources believe the agents were sent by the GRU, the military intelligence branch of the Russian armed forces which was blamed for the nerve agent attack in Britain on Sergei Skripal, a former Russian intelligence officer.

This is nothing new. The NSA and GCHQ have been doing this for decades.

Boing Boing post.
