Kamala Harris says she will NOT bring socialist policies to a Biden administration

“60 Minutes” correspondent Norah O’Donnell pressed Sen. Kamala Harris on her reputation of being considered “the most liberal United States senator.”

In this clip, Pat Gray discussed the interview, and how O’Donnell pushed Harris about being a socialist.

“As we’ve said multiple times, [Kamala Harris] is the most liberal person, the most progressive senator we had in all of the Senate,” Pat said, “including Bernie Sanders, including Elizabeth Warren.”

O’Donnell sought clarification on whether Harris would support the policies of running mate, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Harris noted that Biden did not share her support for socialist policies, including the Green New Deal and legalizing marijuana.

“Are going to bring those progressive policies — that you supported as senator — into a Biden administration,” O’Donnell asked.

In Harris’ response, she claimed part of a deal she made with Biden was to share her lived experience and give an honest perspective on policy matters.

“And is that a socialist or progressive perspective?” O’Donnell asked.

Harris said she would not bring a socialist perspective to the table. Harris added that she would not have joined the Democratic ticket if she didn’t support Biden’s vision for America.

China dependency Congress Coronavirus COVID-19 Intelwars kentucky National defecit Rand Paul Senate Senator Rand Paul Stay-at-home orders Youtube.com

Rand Paul blasts nationwide lockdowns, says they’re ironically making US even more dependent on China

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says the nationwide stay-at-home orders must cease if America is ever to get back on its feet.

What are the details?

Speaking on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” the Republican senator said that states continuing to enforce lockdown measures are sabotaging themselves as well as the United States and its economy in the long run.

“We have no money, we have no rainy day account, we have no savings account,” he said on Wednesday. “The $3 trillion that we’ve already passed out is imaginary money. It’s being borrowed, basically, from China. So the irony is we got the virus from China, and now we’re going to be more dependent by borrowing more money from China.”

Paul explained that the only way to avoid such a pitfall is to reopen the U.S. economy.

“The only thing that recovers our economy is opening the economy,” he reasoned. “It’s not a lack of money. It’s a lack of commerce. If you let people have commerce, if you let them trade, if you take them out from forcible home arrest, our economy will recover.”

“But,” he continued, “if you keep everybody under home arrest, and you say you cannot practice your business, you cannot sell your goods, there will continue to be economic calamity.”

The Republican lawmaker said that Democratic governors are also contributing to the overall problem by refusing to open their states, and thus, their state economies.

“All these blue state governors who don’t want to open their state, now they’re clamoring for federal money to bail them out because no state revenue is coming in. We don’t have any money,” Paul insisted.

MSNBC’s Katy Tur under fire for tweeting and deleting: ‘Kim Jong Un is brain dead’

MSNBC’s Katy Tur apologized after tweeting that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is “brain dead” following a surgery.

CNN announced on Monday that Kim recently had a surgery and had suffered complications as a result.

What are the details?

To her 724,000+ Twitter followers, Tur wrote, “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is brain dead, according to two US officials. He recently had cardiac surgery and slipped into a coma, according to one US current and one former US official. @NBCNews confirms and adds to CNN scoop.”

Following apparent questions — and swift backlash — over the tweet, Tur deleted the tweet.

“I’ve deleted that last tweet out of an abundance of caution,” she admitted. “Waiting on more info. Apologies.”

At the time of this writing, Tur has not tweeted further on the alleged status of Kim Jong Un.

The North Korean leader has reportedly not been seen in public since April 11.

You can read more about Monday’s late-breaking story here and here.

What else?

On Monday night, CNN’s Jim Sciutto said, “I’m told by a U.S. official with direct knowledge that the U.S. is monitoring intelligence that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is in grave danger following a surgery.

“Now we should note that Kim, he recently missed the celebration of his grandfather Kim Il Sung’s birthday on April 15,” he added. “This raised speculation about his wellbeing, about his health.”

The Los Angeles Times later announced, “The Daily NK, a Seoul-based website that gathers information from informants inside the isolated nation, reported Tuesday that Kim underwent ‘a cardiovascular surgical procedure’ and was now mostly recovered.” The Times noted, however, that it was it was “impossible to immediately verify the report, which the Daily NK said was based on one person inside North Korea.”

On Tuesday, national security adviser Robert O’Brien appeared on Fox News and promised that the U.S. is “keeping a close eye” on the reports.

“We’re monitoring these reports very closely,” O’Brien said. “As you know, North Korea is a very closed society.”

Man allegedly breaks into eatery amid COVID-19 lockdown — and spends 4 days eating, drinking thousands of dollars in inventory.

According to police, a Connecticut man broke into a closed eatery in New Haven and camped out for four days, eating and drinking his way through thousands of dollars of the store’s inventory.

What are the details?

Authorities identified the intruder as Louis Angel Ortiz.

The manager of Soul de Cuba Cafe was reportedly visiting his restaurant during the COVID-19 lockdown, and discovered Ortiz asleep inside the eatery on Tuesday.

The unnamed manager phoned police, and caught up to Ortiz — who was reportedly making his way down the road with one of the restaurant’s bottles of rum in hand.

A review of the restaurant’s surveillance footage determined that Ortiz broke into the restaurant on Saturday and “helped himself over the course of four days to the restaurant’s food, liquor, and beer.”

Authorities say that Ortiz is accused of drinking or stealing approximately 70 bottles of liquor.

The New Haven Police Department shared further information on its
Facebook page, writing, “The 42 year old New Haven man was found in possession of a bottle of the restaurant’s rum.
Investigators reviewed security video footage which confirmed the initial burglary occurred several days prior on Saturday when Ortiz made entry through a side window of the restaurant.”

“Officers learned Ortiz helped himself over the course of four days to the restaurant’s food, liquor, and beer. In addition to eating and drinking at the restaurant, Ortiz removed beverages and property from the building,” the post continued. “The business had been closed during this time and it was a manager’s routine check of the establishment that led to the discovery of the burglary.”

The department reported that the restaurant estimates the loss of inventory to total “several thousand dollars.”

Authorities charged Ortiz with burglary, larceny, criminal mischief, and failure to appear on a warrant.

Ortiz was held in lieu of $12,500 bail and is awaiting an arraignment hearing on Friday.

Democratic governor admits to not considering the Bill of Rights before banning religious gatherings

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, admitted to Fox News host Tucker Carlson that he didn’t think about the Bill of Rights before issuing an order that has resulted in people being arrested for attending religious gatherings, according to the Daily Caller.

Coronavirus-related state lockdown orders include bans on gatherings of more than 10 people, making most normal religious gatherings impossible. In a heavily Jewish community in New Jersey earlier this month, 15 people were charged for attending an Orthodox Jewish funeral.

Carlson asked Murphy about the potential constitutional considerations of an executive order that hinders religious expression. Murphy, apparently, hadn’t thought about it.

“Now, the Bill of Rights, as you well know, protects Americans’ right, enshrines their right to practice their religion as they see fit and to congregate together, to assemble peacefully,” Carlson said. “By what authority did you nullify the Bill of Rights in issuing this order? How do you have the power to do that?”

“That’s above my pay grade, Tucker,” Murphy responded. “I wasn’t thinking of the Bill of Rights when we did this. We went to all — first of all, we looked at the data and the science …”

“I can tell,” Carlson said.

As Murphy continued to return to the talking points about the need for social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19, Carlson acknowledged the public health considerations but continued to press Murphy on the specific question of where he, an elected official, drew the authority to order something that directly contradicts the Bill of Rights by telling people where and how they can worship.

Murphy still didn’t answer that directly, but said he had spoken to religious leaders in the state and that his policies were supported.

“Government’s not allowed to tell people how to worship,” Carlson said.

Joe Rogan hilariously trashes Trump-Biden 2020 matchup: ‘Like Mike Tyson versus a 3-year-old’

Hit podcast host Joe Rogan smashed former Vice President and presidential candidate Joe Biden’s chances in defeating President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election in November.

What are the details?

During a new episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan compared Biden to a 3 year old and Trump to professional boxing legend Mike Tyson, and said that the Democratic Party is “crazy.”

“It shows you how crazy the system is that they wanted him,” he said. “That they wanted Biden to be their guy, that they don’t, they can’t admit that he’s in cognitive decline. I mean, it’s very strange.”

Rogan, a former MMA fighter, said that Biden is simply unable to carry on a coherent conversation or discussion for any prolonged period of time.

“Look,” he said. “If someone wants to ask me questions about things that I understand — like MMA or like comedy — like if you want to ask me questions about these things that I think about and talk about all the time, I could talk to you really clearly about those things and make a lot of sense.”

He also noted that the COVID-19 crisis is also going to highlight how ill-equipped Biden is when it comes to being able to defeat Trump.

“Right now, we’re in the s***, right? We’re in the April s***, it’s the worst time of the corona,” Rogan said. “A lot of people are dying. … So and then you go June, July, August — hopefully everything’s up and running again, the economy starts coming back on track. Trump makes a couple of great speeches, but Biden is more in decline.”

“It’s not gonna get better,” he insisted.

What else?

Rogan promised his listeners that there would be “no way” Biden could beat Trump in a hypothetical matchup.

“[Trump’s] already dismissing [Biden],” he continued. “He’s gonna destroy him. He’s gonna kill him man. I mean it’s such an easy target, it’s like Mike Tyson versus a 3-year-old.”

During his latest Wednesday night special, Glenn Beck explained why a study released by two Chinese scientists indicates that it’s far more likely the coronavirus originated from the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and not from bat soup as the Chinese Communist Party has been telling their own citizens — and the rest of the world.

Several Western governments have come to the same conclusion. Yet, despite all the evidence, the Chinese government continues to pump out propaganda, not only lying about the origins of the virus, but also trying to blame this pandemic on America.

Sunday is coming: US surgeon general says it’s not a coincidence deadliest COVID-19 week yet is taking place during Holy Week

U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams says that he doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that the deadliest week of COVID-19 is taking place during Holy Week.

At the time of this writing, 486,490 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the U.S. According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 18,000 people in America have died because of the virus.

What are the details?

In an interview with CBN News, Adams said that it is important to rely on your faith during these times of trials.

“I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this is happening at this time,” he admitted. “During this week we celebrate the ultimate sacrifice that was made for us. God sent His only son to die for us, and it was sad, initially, but then we saw salvation at the end of it.”

Adams pointed out that there are many ways to continue staying connected with families, friends, and other Christians while under lockdown, and suggested that people pray for one another, especially now.

“I would tell them to pray for each other,” Adams said during the exclusive interview. “I would tell them to look for their neighbors. Social distancing doesn’t have to mean social disengagement.”

What else?

Last week, Adams warned that this week would be the country’s “Pearl Harbor moment” in battling the virus.

“Well, it’s tragically fitting that we’re talking at the beginning of Holy Week because this is going to be the hardest and the saddest week of most Americans’ lives, quite frankly,” Adams said during a “Fox News Sunday” appearance.

“This is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment, only it’s not going to be localized,” he added. “It’s going to be happening all over the country. And I want America to understand that.”

Adams said that Americans should remain optimistic, but exercise extreme caution.

“I want Americans to understand that, as hard as this week is going to be, there is a light at the end of the tunnel if everyone does their part for the next 30 days,” he promised.

The surgeon general added that the fight against COVID-19 could very well be the greatest feat Americans have ever faced — but he, too, remains optimistic.

“This is going to be a test of our resolve,” Adams said. “It’s going to be the test of our lives. But I am confident that we can come out on the other side, based on the data and based on what I know about the American people.”

California man stranded on side of road with car trouble calls tow truck for help. Before the tow can arrive, Jay Leno comes to the rescue.

Dwayne Henry, a luxury real estate agent from Los Angeles, was out for a joyride in his vintage Mercedes-Benz when he received roadside assistance from a most unlikely mechanic: Jay Leno.

Henry appeared on Thursday’s broadcast of “The Glenn Beck Program,” where he detailed his experience with Leno and more.

What’s a brief history?

On Sunday, Henry and his girlfriend were driving around Los Angeles near West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip.

The pair decided to get some air during the coronavirus pandemic while still maintaining social distancing measures with the public.

Henry, who works at Westside Estate Agency, discovered that the car — a 1953 Mercedes-Benz — was experiencing mechanical trouble after the brakes failed to work correctly.

He pulled over on the side of the road to assess the trouble and place a call for roadside assistance. Just minutes later, Leno — a car aficionado in his own right — pulled up in his Tesla next to Henry to offer help. A tow truck showed up shortly after Leno’s arrival, and armed with the mechanic’s tools, Leno worked to diagnose the brake issue.

What did Henry say about the chance meeting?

During Thursday’s chat, Henry told Beck that he was driving near Charing Cross Road — home of the $30,000,000 home price tag as well as the Playboy Mansion — when he experienced the car trouble.

“While I’m waiting [for the tow truck], this little Tesla pulls up. Jay Leno gets out of the car,” he said and noted that he greeted Leno.

Leno asked if he was having car troubles, and offered his help.

“I think I’m having some brake issues here, I’m not really sure,” Henry recalled telling the longtime entertainer.

Henry said that Leno directed him to pop the hood of the vintage car to give it a once-over.

“Tow truck driver pulls up, my buddy Jimmy pulls up, they’re trying to figure out what the hell is Jay is doing in the hood of my engine compartment working on the car. He was looking at stuff, looking around. He turned around and asked if the tow truck driver had a wrench,” Henry recalled.

The tow truck driver obliged, and armed Leno with a wrench so he could diagnose the issue with the vehicle.

“Jay’s looking around,” he said. “[He] takes the nut off to release … pressure where the brake fluid and all this stuff is, and kind of diagnosing the car, breaking stuff down, telling me this, showing me that, wants to know who worked on the car, told him who worked on my car. He goes, ‘Well, when you talk to the guy, tell him I think it’s this.’ You know, this brake issue.”

He added, “It was so surreal. I’m looking at Jay, literally in my engine compartment with a wrench, working on my car.”

Beck shared a Leno encounter of his own, in which he and his wife and, at the time, two young children were able to visit Leno’s personal garage, which housed Bugattis at the time.

“He took the kids for probably 15 minutes and was driving them around in some of the cool electric cars from the turn of the century,” he recalled. “This guy is the real deal. I really like him.”

AOC: ‘COVID relief should be drafted with a lens of reparations’ for ‘Black + Brown communities’

In a Friday morning tweet, freshman Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) wrote that any future relief legislation should be drafted with a view toward providing reparations for minority communities because, she said, the disease has disproportionately affected those communities.

It is, by and large, true that wealthy people tend to live longer and have better health outcomes, as we have repeatedly emphasized here at TheBlaze as a reason that it is vitally important to get the economy moving again — not so that people can have more money, but so they can live longer.

And it is also true that the economic downturn is at least somewhat disproportionately affecting certain minority communities. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the overall American workforce is 12.3% “Black or African American” and 17.6% “Hispanic or Latino.” Meanwhile, the leisure and hospitality industry, which has been hit the hardest by the coronavirus shutdown by far, is 13.1% black and 27.0% Hispanic.

The question remains, however, whether the proper response to the economic damage caused by coronavirus should be directed to people specifically because of their skin color, or because they work in industries that have been devastated by the shutdown. Presumably, workers of all colors in the leisure and hospitality industries will be devastated by the loss of several weeks’ pay.

Still, as compared with some of her other coronavirus pronouncements, this one is actually not as bad as it could have been. As BlazeTV host Stu Burguiere has pointed out: almost literally every single word that has come out of her mouth about this crisis has been wrong.

Bill O’Reilly: Trump’s reelection chances depend on WHEN the coronavirus is under control

Bill O’Reilly joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Friday to talk about how he thinks President Donald Trump will fair in the 2020 election given the current struggling economy due to the coronavirus crisis.

O’Reilly said he believes President Trump will win in November if the coronavirus pandemic is under control by this summer, but if schools and businesses are still closed by September, it may be trouble for Trump — even with former vice president Joe Biden’s seemingly declining health.

“What I’ve said from the very beginning of this whole ordeal, is that if Donald Trump can get the pandemic under control this summer, he wins. If by September, it’s not under control, the kids cannot go back to school in many places, people are not opening up businesses again, he loses,” O’Reilly said.

However, the Democrats have a major problem because Joe Biden … is tottering. His mental acute is not what it used to be and everyone around him knows that. That’s why Andrew Cuomo is warming up in the bullpen,” he added. “But Trump knows that his whole future in politics depends on getting this pandemic to subside.”

‘The View’s’ Joy Behar tries to get Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom to blast Trump — but he hits back with only praise for the president

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) appeared on “The View” Friday, where he sang President Donald Trump’s praises over the COVID-19 outbreak.

What are the details?

During an exchange about coronavirus in the U.S., co-host Joy Behar asked if Newsom was sucking up to President Trump in order to avoid retribution.

Newsom, however, lauded the president’s efforts as “proactive” and refused to say anything negative about him.

“Governor, it’s no secret that you’ve had a combative relationship with Trump in the past, but lately, you’ve been praising him for the help he’s giving,” Behar said. “Of course, you have to, because look at how he treats governors who don’t kiss the ring. The governor of Washington, the governor of Michigan, he said they were not appreciative and told Mike Pence, ‘Don’t call them back.’ Do you feel like you have to feed this guy’s ego to get the respirators, to get the PPEs? Is that what’s going on?”

Newsom admitted that he’s had issues with the president in the past and has had differences of opinion as well.

“Let me just acknowledge the frame of your question,” he responded. “We’re involved in over 68 lawsuits with the Trump administration, and so there’s no question we have had our differences of opinion on many issues, but I just want to remind you that you and many others that maybe are not aware of this.

“We have been at this since late January. California got a head start in many respects, where no one was really paying much attention. We started working with the administration directly to get these repatriated flights from mainland China into the state of California. Many states turned their back on those flights and those repatriation missions. California embraced them,” he continued.

“We also had that Grand Princess, that large cruise ship, where we worked very collaboratively with the federal government and developed strong relationships of trust with emergency planning and how we can bring those passengers back into our diverse communities and all across the rest of the country,” he added.

“As a consequence of that, our relationship began earlier than most. And so from that perspective, all I can say is that, from my perspective, the relationship has been strong,” Newsom noted. “I’m not doing it to kiss the ring — I’m not doing it in a way, you know, I’m just being forthright with the president. He returns calls, he reaches out, he’s been proactive.”

Newsom concluded, “We got that Mercy ship down here in Los Angeles. That was directly because he sent it down here. Two thousand medical units came to the state of California, these FMS, these field medical stations. That’s been very, very helpful, and to the extent, we’re going to need more, and I’ll let you know in a few weeks if that relationship continues.”

The TRUTH about face masks and COVID-19: Here’s what they’re not telling you

For weeks now, our political leaders and the media have been repeating the World Health Organization’s claim that non-medical-grade face masks don’t work when it comes to preventing the spread of COVID-19. So, why are infectious disease experts now reconsidering their guidelines?

According to the New York Times, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Robert Redfield, said the guidance on wearing non-medical masks is “being critically re-reviewed, to see if there’s potential additional value for individuals that are infected or individuals that may be asymptomatically infected.”

In actuality, they didn’t trust the American people to do the right thing and prioritize healthcare workers to receive masks first, opined Glenn Beck on the radio program Thursday. But they do work, and “if we’re going to open the country up, we are going to all have to wear face masks,” he said.

Dr. Anthony Fauci speaks out on alleged threats against him: ‘I’ve chosen this life’

Dr. Anthony Fauci says that he doesn’t put too much stock in threats against him — because there’s much bigger problems in the U.S. with the spread of COVID-19.

What are the details?

Fauci, who appeared Thursday on NBC’s “Today,” said that he refuses to be distracted from his job working with the White House as a top medical adviser.

Fauci, 79, is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Host Savannah Guthrie asked Fauci whether he feels threatened because of his celebrity, and if his family feels safe.

“I’ve chosen this life,” he responded. “I mean, I know what it is. There are things about it that are sometimes disturbing. But you just focus on the job you have to do, and just put all that stuff aside and try as best as possible not to pay attention to it and just forge ahead.”

He continued, “We have a really, really, very, very difficult situation ahead of us. All that other stuff is secondary.”

Guthrie’s questions come on the heels of reports that Fauci has been put under federal protection because of personal threats.

According to the Washington Post, “The concerns include threats as well as unwelcome communications from fervent admirers, according to people with knowledge of deliberations inside the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Justice.”

“The exact nature of the threats against him was not clear,” the report continued. “Greater exposure has led to more praise for the doctor but also more criticism.”

What else?

Elsewhere during the interview, Fauci added that the “idea of someone who’s asymptomatic shedding high titers of virus is very disturbing.”

“[T]hat person could be out there, feeling well, and inadvertently and innocently spreading the infection,” he said. “It’s very strange how one individual can get infected and have either mild or no symptoms and another individual could rapidly deteriorate with viral pneumonia and respiratory failure.”

Fauci added that it’s high time science and medicine determine the mechanism behind the virus.

“We really need to figure it out, because it can be completely devastating rapidly in one person and absolutely nothing in another person,” he insisted.

Doctors say it’s not a good idea to wash fruits and vegetables with soap and water — and here’s how to deal with groceries during COVID-19

Benjamin Chapman, a professor at North Carolina State University and a food specialist, says that washing fruits and vegetables with soap and water is not necessarily a good idea.

Other experts also weighed in with their own tips for food safety and staying healthy during the COVID-19 outbreak.

What’s the deal with fresh foods?

Chapman told Live Science that there are “toxicity issues” with household dish soaps.

“We’ve known for 60 years that there are toxicity issues about consuming household dish soaps,” he said. “Drinking dish soap or eating it can lead to nausea, can lead to upset stomach. It’s not a compound that our stomach is really built to deal with.”

Chapman said that a good rinse with cold water will suffice.

How about grocery shopping?

In a now-viral video, Dr. Jeffrey VanWingen, a private practice doctor out of Michigan, warned about the dangers of grocery shopping.

“I felt an urgency to get the word out to people that despite the stay-at-home order, we need to use caution when we go out,” he said. “That’s really the most important piece of the message: If you don’t have to go out, don’t. But if you must, to get food, do so with caution.”

VanWingen says that people who have no choice but to leave the house and grocery shop should take the highest precautions when keeping germ-free.

Some recommendations include wiping down grocery carts with disinfectant or disinfectant wipes. He also recommends that people store newly purchased dry goods on a porch or in a garage for at least three days, and says that containers should be disinfected or discarded.

Chapman added, however, that there’s no evidence that food or its packaging can transmit the virus, and says that VanWingen’s suggestion isn’t “based on any science.”

Chapman said that people should simply put away their groceries and wash their hands well with soap and water.

“[R]inse fresh fruits and vegetables with running cold water,” Chapman says. “That may remove 90 to 99% of what’s there.”

What else?

Donald Schaffner, a professor at Rutgers University, echoed Chapman’s sentiments about washing hands after returning from the grocery store.

“[I]f you’re still feeling worried after you put all your groceries away, wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer,” he said.

Schaffner also said that if COVID-19 is on the food, “it’s not going to make you sick from eating that food” because coronavirus reportedly dies in stomach acid.

Conclusions?

Schnaffner says that people should be more worried about spending time in the grocery store rather than disinfecting their foods — and to wash your hands.

“That’s the big risk right there,” he said.

Mark Cuban says President Donald Trump should get ‘all the credit in the world’ for handling COVID-19 pandemic

Billionaire businessman Mark Cuban sat down for an interview with The Daily Caller where he praised President Donald Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic that is gripping the country and the rest of the world.

At the time of this writing, more than 148,000 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the U.S. At least 2,575 people have died because of the virus.

What are the details?

During the interview with outlet’s White House Correspondent Maranda Finney, Cuban said he gives credit to the president for his strong grip on the country and the COVID-19 crisis.

Finney said, “I’m curious how do you think the president is doing when it comes to addressing citizens of America during this COVID-19 pandemic, and what kind of grade would you possibly give him?”

“Look, I’m not gonna throw anybody under the bus,” he began, echoing sentiments he made during last week’s tele-appearance on “The View” when co-host Sunny Hostin attempted to bait him into bashing the president over his response to the coronavirus.

“I’m not a fan of Donald Trump’s as president, I haven’t been for awhile, but, that said, he’s obviously adjusted and adapted, and he’s doing his best,” he continued. “We are where we are.”

Cuban said that Trump has taken a backseat to let others shine in the fight against the virus, and the positive benefits are obvious.

“In the past, it wasn’t all that long ago when he was saying — people were thinking, wondering how he understood medicine so well. They thought he was just a genius for being able to understand all this stuff, but now he’s kind of evolved to the point where he’s putting his experts up front,” he reasoned. “There’s a reason why Dr. [Anthony] Fauci became a rock star, and he’s only a rock star because Donald Trump stepped aside.”

He also pointed to Dr. Deborah Birx, who he also called a “rock star” for her hard work in educating the public about the severity of the disease.

What else did Cuban say?

“The head of FEMA, the surgeon general, there’s just people who have really put themselves out there and put themselves at risk, and during the press conferences, he steps aside,” Cuban added. “He’s not even in camera shot, and that’s good. And I give him all the credit in the world. Do I like the side comments and all the picking on journalists? No, never have, never will. That’s who he is, but credit earned is credit deserved, and so I’ll give him credit where we’re at right now.”

Sunny Hostin tries to bait Mark Cuban into Trump-bashing while on ‘The View’ — but Cuban won’t do it: ‘I’m not gonna throw him under the bus’

Sunny Hostin, co-host on “The View,” attempted to bait billionaire Mark Cuban three times into attacking President Donald Trump over his COVID-19 response.

Three times, Cuban refused.

What are the details?

Cuban appeared via video on Tuesday’s broadcast to discuss the coronavirus pandemic gripping the U.S. and the rest of the world.

“You know, in January, though, experts were raising the alarm about the coronavirus to President Trump, and some say that his refusal to respond quickly, efficiently, appropriately enough cost lives, American lives,” she said. “What are your thoughts about his leadership during the pandemic?”

Cuban responded by saying he believed the president was doing the best of his ability.

“You know,” he began, “I’m not a fan of President Trump, but I’m not going to rip on him either, because any senator could have stood up and said something and screamed loud. Any congressperson could have. I mean, nobody did. I didn’t have high expectations from President Trump, but I’m not going to throw him under the bus.”

When it was clear that Hostin wasn’t getting what she was looking for, she attempted a more direct approach.

“Trump’s approval ratings match his all-time high — 49% — the highest mark since he’s been in office,” she said. “Are we underestimating how Americans are viewing his handling of this crisis?”

Cuban was unmoved.

“No,” he responded. “You know, he’s doing the best he can, and here’s what I’ll say, and I’m not a fan of his, but what’s real is real. When you have imperfect information, you make imperfect decisions. We’re not in a ready, aim, fire mode. That makes it tough. No matter what he did, it’s going to be wrong for some people.”

Hostin, determined, attempted one last time to encourage Cuban to attack Trump.

“Mark, you know, many people are calling Governor Cuomo ‘President Cuomo’ at this point for the way he’s leading New York state during this pandemic, but President Trump berated him saying, he needs to do more … Is this how President Trump should be spending his time?” she asked. “Criticizing the governor of one of the hardest hit states?”

Although he agreed personal attacks were unnecessary, Cuban reiterated a third time that he would not take the bait.

“There’s no good reason just to rip on, you know, I’m ripping on politicians generically, but the decisions that have been made particularly from the president, he is who he is. I’m not just going to stand around and tear him apart,” Cuban insisted. “President Trump can tweet about whatever he wants. I’m looking to see people doing work, and are we trying to solve things coming out of the government? Yes, we are. That’s what I focus on.”
