Defund the police Intelwars Minneapolis Minneapolis city council Police violent crime

After vowing to abolish police, Minneapolis City Council demands to know ‘Where are the police?’ as violence plagues the city

After the tragic death of George Floyd rocked the nation, the Minneapolis City Council — which is composed of nearly all Democrats — took the lead in the anti-police movement, voting to defund the city’s police department. The council sought to replace traditional law enforcement with newer community-based, alternative forms of policing.

But as violent crime has plagued the city for months, the city council is now asking: “Where are the police?”

What’s the background?

As TheBlaze reported, the Minneapolis City Council passed a resolution in June to replace the city’s police department with an alternative “community safety” model.

The development came days after the council promised anti-police residents that they would completely dismantle the city’s policing system.

What is happening now?

During a two-hour meeting with Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo this week, the Democratic city council, in brazen fashion, demanded to know why city police are not responding to the violence with enhanced law enforcement measures.

From Minnesota Public Radio:

The number of reported violent crimes, like assaults, robberies and homicides are up compared to 2019, according to MPD crime data. More people have been killed in the city in the first nine months of 2020 than were slain in all of last year. Property crimes, like burglaries and auto thefts, are also up. Incidents of arson have increased 55 percent over the total at this point in 2019.

“Residents are asking, ‘Where are the police?'” Councilman Jamal Osman said, MPR reported. “That is the only public safety option they have at the moment. MPD. They rely on MPD. And they are saying they are nowhere to be seen.”

Council President Lisa Bender, one of the loudest anti-police voices just months ago, claimed police are being “defiant,” according to MPR.

“This is not new,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, Phillipe Cunningham chided his colleagues for looking to the police for solutions when they called for the department’s abolition just a few months ago.

“What I am sort of flabbergasted by right now is colleagues, who a very short time ago were calling for abolition, are now suggesting we should be putting more resources and funding into MPD,” Cunningham said.

How was the response?

Arradondo told the council that he actually has taken measures to combat the spike in crime.

Arradondo explained that more officers have been added to patrols, additional resources have been allocated for investigative duties, and he has reiterated the seriousness of the crime issue with top department brass.

However, the department is also hemorrhaging personnel, Arradondo explained. In fact, more than 100 officers have left the department this year alone, more than double the usual number. With fewer officers, law enforcement becomes much more difficult.

Anything else?

As TheBlaze reported, momentum driving the push to disband the Minneapolis police department has dissipated because, as the Minneapolis City Council has learned, highly emotional rhetoric does not translate into functional policy.

“I think when you take a statement and then move into policy work, it gets more complicated,” Bender told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Horrifying video shows man attempting to rape women in broad daylight on NYC subway platform

New York City police are frantically searching for a suspect who was caught on camera attempting to rape a woman in broad daylight.

What are the details?

The heinous incident happened Saturday around 11 a.m. on an Upper East Side subway platform. According to WNBC-TV, the 25-year-old victim was waiting for her train when a man shoved her to the ground and began assaulting her.

Police said the man attempted to rape her in broad daylight, and only stopped when a crowd of bystanders confronted him. The witnesses, however, did not directly intervene; one man was seen in a video of the incident just staring in the direction of the suspect and victim.

Video shows the man get off the woman, pick up his sunglasses, turn toward the bystanders and mouth several words. It is not clear what the suspect said because the video released by the NYPD did not contain audio.

The victim suffered minor injuries, but refused medical assistance, police said.

The suspect, a black male with an afro and facial hair, fled the scene. Police are asking that anyone with information about the brazen attack to come forward or call 800-577-TIPS.

(Content Warning: The following video is extremely graphic):

Abbey Collins, a spokesperson for the MTA, told WNBC, “This is disturbing and disgraceful. No one should ever have to experience this type of horrific attack in the transit system. The MTA is working closely with the NYPD to find the suspect and hold him accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

What’s the background?

Amid the coronavirus pandemic and unrest in cities across America, New York City has been experiencing a record-setting crime wave this summer. Violence crime is up across the city, but shootings and homicides are experiencing the greatest year-over-year increase.

City leaders have responded by further slashing the police budget — not imposing law and order.

“We are reducing the size of our police force by not having the next recruit class. We are reducing our overtime levels. We’re shifting functions away from police to civilian agencies,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in July, NPR reported.

“We think it’s the right thing to do. It will take work,” he added. “It will take effort and we’re going to be reforming that work in the meantime.”

Following the tragic death of George Floyd, progressive activists across the country called for police agencies to be defunded. Progressive leaders like de Blasio have responded by mostly obliging activist demands.

Louisiana Attorney General Warns “Violent Crime” Will Reach “Epidemic” Levels

The attorney general, Jeff Landry of Louisiana says that violent crime is going to reach epidemic levels in the United States soon. Landry warns that crime in the U.S. will get worse before it gets better, and we are going to reach a tipping point soon.

Given the current state of affairs in cities across the country, the economic terrorism committed against every person on this globe, and the constant division being propagated by the mainstream media over an election they have already promised us will be disturbing at best, things are not set to get better. In fact, the worst is yet to come.

In a phone interview with Fox News, Landry said that while he has tried to be tough on crime in his state, he realized years ago that in other parts of the country there were signs that crime would reach “epidemic” levels. Humans are being backed into corners by the very people responsible for cracking down on crime, so it stands to reason that once they cannot be pushed any further, they will lash out. This is likely what the ruling class is waiting for too.  They want violence so they can enact martial law, treat people like cattle to be owned, and force everyone to comply.

“When I became attorney general back in 2016, one of the first things that we tackled was we took a very proactive fight against crime,” Landry said. “I predicted four and five years ago that this country was headed towards an extreme violent crime outbreak, that it was going to become an epidemic.”

With homicides and gun violence on the rise in cities across the country, Landry said he is not surprised. “I called that. And this thing is something that’s been building, and has only been heightened by this particular lawlessness,” he said. “I do believe that there’s a tipping point that’s coming in this country because I believe that every violent crime creates an exponential number of victims.”

Could this all be further predictive programming about the left/right paradigm lie that will cause election malcontent? Possibly. Or it could be just one more politician wanting martial law to control people after the government’s policies destroyed their livelihoods. There’s a lot of possibilities here, but the one thing left out is that this violence has been, and will continue to be the fault of the engineered destruction of the United States. People are going to be facing starvation soon as the food supply collapses (which is also being engineered) and people get violent when they get hungry.

Wake up. This is all a setup. Don’t fall for it. We have no say in this election, the Federal Reserve is in charge, and they will create whichever scenario will be the most destructive to manufacture our compliance in the New World Order. They aren’t even hiding this anymore.

It All Comes Back To The Federal Reserve: The NWO Is Being Shoved Down Our Throats

This is all brainwashing, predictive programming, and engineering. They own the minds of so many Americans that waking people up is going to really be an uphill battle. Understand, this is all psychological warfare and the real battle is for your perception, make sure you employ critical thinking and apply it to your preparedness.

Portland murder rate skyrockets to more than 30-year high after Democratic leaders cut police budget

As violent protests grip the streets of Portland, violent crime is also skyrocketing.

According to the Oregonian, 15 people were murdered in the Oregon city during the month of July, making it the deadliest one-month period for Portland in more than 30 years.

Prior to July’s violence, the city had seen just nine murders in 2020.

Not only have homicides surged, but so has other violent crime, like robberies. Property crime, including burglaries and vandalism, have also increased, the Oregonian noted.

Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell has attributed the increase in crime to his department’s budget being targeted by city officials, amid calls by far-left activists to reduce police budgets — or eliminate traditional policing altogether.

Last month, at the direction of Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and the city council, Lovell was forced to can his 34-member Gun Violence Reduction Team.

Wheeler called for the team’s elimination as part of an “action plan to increase police accountability and reinvest in Black and Brown communities.”

In June, the Portland City Council approved millions in budget cuts to the city’s police department.

Lovell explained on a podcast, “The loss of the gun violence reduction team, in particular, has a diminishing effect on how we’re able to investigate shootings, which is some of the most important crimes that we investigate. So we still have to do that work and figuring out how we’re going to do that without the experience that that team had has been a bit of a challenge.”

Unfortunately, surging violent crime is not a problem unique to Portland, one of America’s most far-left cities.

In fact, the Wall Street Journal reported that homicide rates have increased by double-digits in 36 of the 50 biggest U.S. cities.

From the WSJ:

A Wall Street Journal analysis of crime statistics among the nation’s 50 largest cities found that reported homicides were up 24% so far this year, to 3,612. Shootings and gun violence also rose, even though many other violent crimes such as robbery fell.

Police, researchers, mayors and community leaders see a confluence of forces at work in the homicide spike. Institutions that keep city communities safe have been destabilized by lockdown and protests against police.

In some major cities, like Minneapolis, crime is becoming so prevalent that police are now encouraging residents to cooperate with criminals and “do as they say.”

Minneapolis, plagued by violent crime, wants victims to cooperate with criminals, surrender property

As violent crime surges in Minneapolis, the city is now telling residents they are essentially on their own.

The Minneapolis City Government has circulated a letter informing residents what to do if they are targeted by carjackers or robbers. The letter, addressed to residents living in the city’s 3rd precinct, was written July 28.

“Robberies and Carjacking’s have increased in our precinct. Cell phones, purses, and vehicles are being targeted. Some victims have been maced, dragged, assaulted, and threatened with a gun,” the letter states.

“100 Robberies and 20 Carjackings have been reported to the 3rd Precinct Police in July alone,” the letter adds.

However, instead of committing to increase police activity in areas plagued by violent crime, the letter goes on to suggest that residents protect themselves — and if they are targeted by violent criminals, to surrender their property.

Under a section titled, “Robbery Prevention Tips,” the letter tells residents, “Be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse/wallet.”

The letter goes on to instruct residents to — if confronted by a violent robber — “do as they say.”

Violent crime has been especially prevalent in Minneapolis’ 3rd precinct following the death of George Floyd, which sparked violent protests in Minneapolis.

In fact, just days after Floyd’s tragic death, violent protesters breached the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd precinct building, igniting a fire inside the police station.

Unfortunately for city residents, the Democrat-controlled Minneapolis City Council has voted to defund the city’s police department, and is searching for alternatives to traditional policing.

Now, as shootings have tripled in the city since Floyd’s death, Minneapolis neighborhoods are forming patrols in hopes of curbing crime.

WaPo fails miserably at fact checking Trump, actually proves his point on Democrats, violent crime

The Washington Post attempted to fact check President Donald Trump last week on his claim that Democrat-run cities have the highest rates of violent crime.

However, the newspaper ended up just proving the president’s point.

Last Wednesday, Trump said, “You hear about certain places like Chicago and you hear about what’s going on in Detroit and other — other cities, all Democrat run. Every one of them is Democrat run. Twenty out of twenty. The 20 worst, the 20 most dangerous are Democrat run.”

In response, the Post published an analysis article declaring that Trump was incorrect. “Trump keeps claiming that the most dangerous cities in America are all run by Democrats. They aren’t.”

Using FBI data on violent crime occurrences per city, the Post found that, indeed, Democrats control almost all of the top-20 most violent American cities.

From the Post:

Most of the current mayors of these cities are Democrats. Two of the mayors of cities with the most reported violent crimes overall, though, are independents and one, the mayor of Jacksonville, Fla., is a Republican. Among the 20 cities with the most violent crime per capita, one isn’t a Democrat: the independent mayor of Springfield, Mo.

The graph included in the Post article was visually damning.

So, while Trump was incorrect to say that all of the top-20 most violent cities are ran by Democrats, the Washington Post confirmed the sentiment that Trump tried to convey: when Democrats are in charge, crime is more likely to happen with increased prevalence.

But, according to Washington Post writer Philip Bump, that doesn’t really matter.

“Trump would no doubt shrug at that detail, decrying as ‘fake news’ the revelation that his assertion was only slightly wrong. And, in fairness, it actually doesn’t matter that four of the 32 cities listed above have non-Democratic mayors — because it doesn’t really matter that the other mayors are Democrats,” Bump, the author behind the analysis, wrote.

Bump justified the correlation between crime and Democrat-controlled cities by showing that Democrats almost always win urban areas, which typically have higher occurrences of crime than suburban and rural areas.
