Facebook suppresses bombshell Hunter Biden story pending fact-check

Facebook is limiting the distribution of the New York Post’s bombshell story about a “smoking gun” email appearing to show that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden met with a top Ukrainian natural gas executive while he was vice president, contrary to Biden’s prior claims.

According to the Post, a 2015 email between Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden and Vadym Pozharskyi, an advisor to Burisma, a Ukrainian natural gas company, shows Pozharskyi thanking the younger Biden for introducing him to his father, then the vice president. At the time, Hunter Biden served on the company’s board.

The alleged meeting would have taken place less than a year before Vice President Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating Burisma.

The elder Biden has denied that he ever had any conversations with his son related to foreign business dealings. The email, if true, contradicts Biden’s claims.

A spokesman for Facebook said Wednesday the social media platform would be reducing distribution of the Post’s story and noted that the report is eligible to be fact-checked by Facebook’s third-party partners.

“While I will intentionally not link to the New York Post, I want be clear that this story is eligible to be fact checked by Facebook’s third-party fact checking partners,” Facebook’s Andy Stone tweeted Wednesday. “In the meantime, we are reducing its distribution on our platform.”

“This is part of our standard process to reduce the spread of misinformation,” he added in a follow-up tweet. “We temporarily reduce distribution pending fact-checker review.”

Stone serves as the policy communications manager at Facebook. He previously worked as a press secretary for Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and the communications director for the Democratic House Majority PAC.

Facebook’s policies on reducing misinformation state that the company will refer stories it thinks contain misinformation to third-party fact-checkers for review. While an article is under review, Facebook suppresses the story in people’s news feeds so that fewer people see it. The intent of this policy is to prevent the spread of what Facebook deems as misinformation.

Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the New York Post on why it targeted the Post’s report and whether the fact-checking process had begun.

The Trump campaign weighed in on Facebook’s decision, accusing the big tech company of “actively interfering in the election” and “rigging the election for Joe Biden.”

According to the Post, Twitter also added a warning label stating “headlines don’t tell the full story” that is visible to some users who attempt to share the article. The warning “is part of a test we’re doing right now. It does not depend on the outlet of the article, or the contents of the article,” Twitter spokesman Trenton Kennedy said.

1619 project American History culture History Intelwars Media New York Times Nikole hannah-jones

National Association of Scholars calls on Pulitzer Prize Board to revoke award given to ‘1619 Project’ author

The National Association of Scholars on Tuesday published an open letter calling for the Pulitzer Prize Board to rescind its prize awarded to the lead author of the New York Times “1619 Project.”

The letter was signed by 21 scholars and public writers declaring that the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary awarded to Nikole Hannah-Jones earlier this year was given in error, criticizing Hannah-Jones’ essay as “profoundly flawed” and “disfigured by unfounded conjectures and patently false assertions.”

“We call on the Pulitzer Prize Board to rescind the 2020 Prize for Commentary awarded to Nikole Hannah-Jones for her lead essay in ‘The 1619 Project,'” the letter states. “That essay was entitled, ‘Our democracy’s founding ideals were false when they were written.’ But it turns out the article itself was false when written, making a large claim that protecting the institution of slavery was a primary motive for the American Revolution, a claim for which there is simply no evidence.”

Stanley Kurtz, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and one of the signatories, says the impetus for the letter was the recent revelation that the New York Times stealth edited the central claim of the “1619 Project” — That America’s “true founding” was in 1619 when slaves were first imported to North America, not 1776 when the Founding Fathers of the United States published the Declaration of Independence of the 13 colonies. The Times edited that claim out of Hannah-Jones’ essay.

“These actions on the part of both the Times and Hannah-Jones are profoundly irresponsible and disturbing,” Kurtz wrote for National Review. He criticized how Hannah-Jones has repeatedly denied ever claiming that “1619” was America’s true founding, when it is easily demonstrable she’s made this claim repeatedly since her essay was first published.

“Imagine that a Pulitzer Prize for Literature had been awarded to a novel for which it later emerged that the most famous passage had been plagiarized. At that point the prize would rightly be revoked. Now imagine that a Pulitzer Prize for Literature had been awarded to a novel whose author, after receiving the prize, surreptitiously edited out the most famous passage from the e-book and denied repeatedly that the passage had ever been in the novel to begin with. In that case, the prize would not be revoked, but the author would be considered to have gone at least semi-mad,” Kurtz wrote.

“What do we say, then, about a Pulitzer Prize for journalism where the publisher edits out the most famous passage/claim and the author repeatedly denies that the claim had ever been there to begin with (although she herself made the claim repeatedly in a variety of public contexts well after publication of the original text)? What do we say when the author points to the stealthily edited text as proof that the claim edited out was never actually made to begin with, despite the fact that she herself repeatedly made the claim for months on end?”

Since its publication, the “1619 Project” has faced substantial criticisms from historians and scholars of all political persuasions for historical inaccuracies. Conservatives have widely opposed curricula based on it being taught in schools. President Donald Trump in September denounced the project and issued an executive order to create the “1776 Commission” to make recommendations for “patriotic education” to be taught in American schools to counter its “toxic propaganda.”

The National Association of Scholars letter reviews the record of stealth edits to Hannah-Jones’s essay and uses evidence to accuse her of “duplicity” in defending her essay.

“The duplicity of attempting to alter the historical record in a manner intended to deceive the public is as serious an infraction against professional ethics as a journalist can commit,” the letter says. “A ‘sweeping, deeply reported and personal essay,’ as the Pulitzer Prize Board called it, does not have the license to sweep its own errors into obscurity or the remit to publish ‘deeply reported’ falsehoods.”

The Pulitzer Prize Board erred in awarding a prize to Hannah-Jones’s profoundly flawed essay, and through it to a Project that, despite its worthy intentions, is disfigured by unfounded conjectures and patently false assertions. To err is human. But now that it has come to light that these materials have been “corrected” without public disclosure and Hannah-Jones has falsely put forward claims that she never said or wrote what she plainly did, the offense is far more serious. It is time for the Pulitzer Prize Board to acknowledge its error rather than compound it. Given the glaring historical fallacy at the heart of its account, and the subsequent breaches of core journalistic ethics by both Hannah-Jones and the Times, “Our democracy’s founding ideals were false when they were written” does not deserve the honor conferred upon it. Nor does The 1619 Project of which it is a central part, and which the Board seeks to honor by honoring Hannah-Jones’s essay. The Board should acknowledge that its award was an error. It can and should correct that error by withdrawing the prize.

Without mentioning the National Association of Scholars by name, Hannah-Jones responded to “efforts to discredit my work” on Twitter, noting how Ida B. Wells received a Pulitzer Prize 100 years after the New York Times called her a “slanderous and nasty minded mulattress.”

She said she takes the criticism as “a badge of honor.”

Gallup Intelwars Liberal Media Media Media Bias Trust

New poll finds 60% of Americans don’t trust the media to report the news ‘fully, accurately, and fairly’

The distrust the American people have for the national media to provide fair and accurate reporting is continuing unabated, Gallup
revealed this week.

And it is not just Republicans — who have long had problems with the the nation’s TV and newspaper outlets — keeping the media’s numbers low. Independents have trust issues with the media — as do a fair share of the country’s Democrats.

What’s going on?

A new Gallup poll published Wednesday reveals that a majority of Americans do not trust the mass media to tell the full story.

According to Gallup, only 40% of U.S. adults admit to having “a great deal” or “a fair amount” of trust and confidence in the media to report the news “fully, accurately, and fairly.” And 60% of adults say they have “not very much” trust or “none at all.”

Of the four options on level of trust — “a great deal,” “a fair amount,” “not very much,” and “none at all” — a plurality of respondents (33%) chose “none at all.”

The overall trust in media (40%) is the lowest it has been since 2016, when it dropped to 32%. And it hasn’t been above 50% since 2003.

Broken down by political affiliation, the data is not encouraging for the media.

Naturally, Republicans are unwilling to say they trust TV, newspapers, and radio to report the news accurately. This has been a decades-long fight for the GOP. And today, only 10% of Republicans are willing to say they trust the media. Some 58% of GOPers told Gallup they have no trust at all in the media.

But the news is not good among independents, either. Just over one-third (36%) of voters who identify as independent said they trust the media.

Even the party seen by many Americans as in bed with the liberal media is showing that it has some trust issues. Not even three-quarters (73%) of Democrats are willing to say they trust the media. Gallup noted that the share of Democrats who said they trust the media “a great deal” dropped from 24% to 16%.

Antifa Cbs reporter Intelwars Kayleigh McEnany Media Videos white house briefing White House Press Secretary

Kayleigh McEnany dramatically concludes briefing by taking on media and Democrats for turning a blind eye to Antifa violence

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Thursday went after the mainstream media and the Democratic Party for turning a blind eye to Antifa’s violence and destruction.

What are the details?

During the media briefing, McEnany issued pointed remarks, accusing the media of misrepresenting President Donald Trump’s words about condemning white supremacy.

Kicking off the briefing, Fox News’ John Roberts asked whether the press secretary would be able to provide a “declarative statement” from the president that explicitly condemned white supremacy.

In response to his — and others’ — remarks, McEnany pointed to many of the president’s past remarks about denouncing the Ku Klux Klan and more.

She later pointed out that Trump has “denounced [white supremacy] more than any other president in modern history.”

“And in fact, something else lost upon the media is the absolutely turning of a blind eye to Antifa. Carrying the water for the Democrats, the media apparently agrees with Jerry Nadler that Antifa violence is a myth,” she said.

She then went on to cite examples when Democrats had apparent opportunities to publicly condemn Antifa, and pointed out various crimes and assaults perpetrated by those who claim to support Antifa.

“Ideas do not target police officers, ideas do not burn down buildings, ideas do not kill innocent Americans, organizations do,” she insisted. “And Democrats should condemn the shameful group the same manner President Trump continues to condemn white supremacy,” she said before dramatically ending the scrum.

Anything else?

Earlier in the briefing, McEnany also snapped at CBS reporter Paula Reid, who attempted to talk over McEnany when she was attempting to answer a question.

McEnany, while pointing out the president’s actions to denounce white supremacy — including a plan to “prosecute the KKK as domestic terrorists” — Reid interrupted and said that the president’s record was “mixed” on the topic.

McEnany fired back, “His record is not mixed in the slightest,” and attempted to provide more examples of such, but Reid continued to interrupt as the two talked over each other.

“Let me speak, Paula,” she demanded. “Paula, we’re not having a debate on a cable news network. Right now you need to let me finish. You need to let me finish. It’s quite funny that the media goes haywire about interrupting in debates, and then chooses to pursue that very same tactic themselves. This is a White House briefing. You ask a question and you give me time to answer.”

Abortion Acb Amy coney barrett Intelwars Media Pro-Life Supreme Court

Progressives attack Amy Coney Barrett for signing letter opposing abortion in 2006

Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett is facing renewed attacks for signing a letter in 2006 that endorsed Catholic doctrine on the sanctity of life and called for an end to Roe v. Wade.

The letter, reported by the Daily Beast and The Guardian, was sponsored by St. Joseph County Right to Life, a pro-life group based in Indiana, and was published in a newspaper advertisement. Barrett and her husband, Jesse, signed the letter along with hundreds of other people in 2006, when Barrett was working as a law professor at the University of Notre Dame.

The advertisement, which appeared in the South Bend Tribune, stated: “We, the following citizens of Michiana, oppose abortion on demand and defend the right to life from fertilization to natural death.”

“Please continue to pray to end abortion,” it said under many signatures.

On a separate page, St. Joseph County Right published a commentary on the organization’s position regarding Roe vs. Wade.

“The Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion for any reason,” the commentary said. “Now, after more than thirty-two years under Roe more than 47 million unborn children have been aborted. The majority of those abortions were performed for social reasons. Yet poll after poll continues to show that an increasing majority of Americans are opposed to abortion as a method of birth control. And in 2000, the Supreme Court ruled that Roe v. Wade allowed and protected the brutal partial-birth abortion procedure — a practice opposed by over 70% of all Americans.

“It’s time to put an end to the barbaric legacy of Roe v. Wade and restore laws that protect the lives of unborn children,” the message concluded.

The Guardian’s report identified St. Joseph County Right to Life as “an extreme anti-choice group.” It also called out the pro-life group for supporting the criminalization of abortionists and the criminalization of discarding frozen embryos created in the in vitro fertilization process.

Jackie Appleman, the executive director of St. Joseph County Right to Life, told the Guardian in an interview that the organization believes in Catholic doctrine that teaches life begins at conception.

“Whether embryos are implanted in the woman and then selectively reduced or it’s done in a petri dish and then discarded, you’re still ending a new human life at that point and we do oppose that,” Appleman said.

“We support the criminalization of the doctors who perform abortions. At this point we are not supportive of criminalizing the women. We would be supportive of criminalizing the discarding of frozen embryos or selective reduction through the IVF process,” she said.

Barrett’s public signature on the 2006 advertisement “is likely to lead to new questions about how Barrett’s personal views on abortion may not only shape reproductive rights in the US for decades to come if she is confirmed by the Senate, but how her appointment could affect legal rights for women undergoing fertility treatment, as well as their doctors,” the Guardian said.

The letter Barrett signed does not mention IVF, or criminalizing abortionists. Ramesh Ponnuru pointed out for National Review that Barrett and the other signatories signed only the statement opposing abortion on demand and supporting the right to life, not the commentary on the legacy of Roe v. Wade.

Yet, the Guardian reported, “Barrett’s public embrace of a strict anti-choice position will nevertheless fuel concerns of progressives and pro-choice Americans about what the 48-year-old judge’s confirmation to the supreme court will mean for abortion rights once conservatives gain a 6-3 majority on the court.”

Progressives are indeed concerned. Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, declared “everything is at stake” with Barrett’s nomination.

Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-N.J.) labeled Barrett an “extremist” and claimed, without evidence, she “wants to put women in prison for exercising control of their bodies.”

Author Lauren Rankin said Senate Republicans want to nominate an extremist to the court.

Hillary Clinton’s former senior adviser Zac Petkanas said Barrett’s signature on that letter is “disqualifying” for the Supreme Court.

Chris Wallace Donald Trump Election 2020 Intelwars Joe Biden Media presidential debate

Chris Wallace on debate: ‘I’m disappointed for the country’

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace expressed disappointment with the way the first 2020 presidential debate turned out, lamenting in an interview with the New York Times that he couldn’t maintain control over the candidates.

“I’m just sad with the way last night turned out,” Wallace said. “I never dreamt that it would go off the tracks the way it did.”

The debate was a brutal slugfest between President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden. Rather than an exchange of ideas, the two candidates traded insults, personal attacks, interruptions, leaving Wallace at times helpless and ineffective as a moderator. Many reviews called the debate chaotic, with journalists singling out Trump’s performance as “monstrous,” though Biden called Trump names like “clown” and told the president to “shut up.”

“I’ve read some of the reviews, I know people think, Well, gee, I didn’t jump in soon enough,” Wallace said. “I guess I didn’t realize — and there was no way you could, hindsight being 20/20 — that this was going to be the president’s strategy, not just for the beginning of the debate but the entire debate.”

The rules of the debate provided each candidate two minutes to answer the questions however they wanted before being permitted to engage each other. Trump interrupted Biden incessantly, and Biden returned the favor in kind. At times both candidates were talking over each other so loudly that whatever points they were attempting to make were rendered unintelligible to the audience.

At one point, Wallace asked Trump to stop the interruptions, saying “the country would be better served if we allowed both people to speak with fewer interruptions.”

He says he felt a sense of “desperation” as he pleaded with the candidates.

“If I didn’t try to seize control of the debate — which I don’t know that I ever really did — then it was going to just go completely off the tracks,” Wallace said.

Though Wallace said Trump’s behavior “certainly didn’t help” the situation, he declined to put all the blame on the president.

“To quote the president, ‘It is what it is,'” he said.

In response to the overwhelmingly negative reception of the debate proceedings, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced Wednesday it will adopt changes to the debate format. The debate “made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues,” the commission said.

The Associated Press reported that one idea being toyed with is to allow the moderators to shut off the candidates’ microphones if they become unruly while their opponent is speaking.

Wallace is vehemently opposed to the idea.

“As a practical matter, even if the president’s microphone had been shut, he still could have continued to interrupt, and it might well have been picked up on Biden’s microphone, and it still would have disrupted the proceedings in the hall,” he said.

He worries how the American people would react to the debate moderator silencing either one of the candidates at his or her discretion.

“People have to remember, and too many people forget, both of these candidates have the support of tens of millions of Americans,” Wallace explained.

He offered advice to C-SPAN’s Steve Scully, who will moderate the next presidential debate on Oct. 15: “If either man goes down this road, I hope you’ll be quicker to realize what’s going on than I was. I didn’t have that advance warning.”

“Generally speaking, I did as well as I could, so I don’t have any second thoughts there,” Wallace said. “I’m just disappointed with the results. For me, but much more importantly, I’m disappointed for the country, because it could have been a much more useful evening than it turned out to be.”

Al Sharpton Courts Election 2020 Federal judge Intelwars Media MSNBC President Trump Supreme court nomination

Al Sharpton accuses President Trump of attempting a ‘coup’ with SCOTUS appointment, says nominee must ‘recuse themselves’ if election goes to court

MSNBC host the Rev. Al Sharpton on Thursday said that by filling the Supreme Court vacancy left by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, President Donald Trump is attempting to “guarantee … his re-election” in a “coup.”

Sharpton demanded that Senate Republicans insist that whomever Trump nominates to the Supreme Court, if they are confirmed, recuse themselves in the event a contested election goes to court, the Daily Caller reported.

“If we are to have any iota of a democratic process in this election, then Republicans in the Senate, if they move forward as they seem determined to do with the process of the confirmation hearings of whoever the president nominates Saturday and a vote, they are to insist they recuse themselves,” Sharpton said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

Sharpton said confirmation of Trump’s nominee to the court would “checkmate American democracy.”

“In effect this president has therefore not only violated the whole procedure they had set up in 2016 against Justice [Merrick] Garland, nominated by President Obama, he has in fact put in place how he can checkmate American democracy by putting in a judge that will guarantee, if proceedings go through the courts up to the Supreme Court, his reelection,” he continued.

“And for [Trump] to be able to checkmate American democracy is, in fact, a coup rather than an election,” Sharpton added.

Sharpton said the public must challenge Republicans to ensure Trump’s nominee be recused, “otherwise you’ve handed over this democracy to a whole situation that is nothing short of … going into an autocracy headed by a man who is not even able to get through a sentence without really revealing his innermost thoughts of ultimate power.”

President Trump and other Republicans have argued it is necessary to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court before the election precisely because the results could be contested.

“I think this will end up in the Supreme Court, and I think it’s very important that we have nine Justices,” Trump told reporters Wednesday. “I think having a 4-4 situation is not a good situation.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said last Friday that the legitimacy of the election depends on not having a 4-4 tie at the Supreme Court.

“I think it is tremendously important that not only does the nomination happen next week but that the confirmation before Election Day,” Cruz said on Fox News. “Democrats and Joe Biden have made clear, they intend to challenge this election, they intend to fight the legitimacy of the election. As you know, Hillary Clinton has told Joe Biden ‘under no circumstances should you concede. You should challenge this election.'”

“We cannot have Election Day come and go with a 4-4 court,” Cruz said. “A 4-4 court that is equally divided cannot decide anything. And I think we risk a constitutional crisis if we do not have a nine justice Supreme Court, particularly when there’s such a risk of a contested litigation and a contested election.”

At stake are several lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee related to election laws in various states. A tied ruling at the Supreme Court would mean lower court rulings against the Trump campaign remain in place. In Pennsylvania, a federal judge ordered a stay in the Trump campaign’s lawsuit seeking to ban mailed ballot drop boxes and bar counties from accepting absentee ballots that don’t arrive without a second, internal secrecy envelope sent to all voters. A federal judge in Nevada dismissed a lawsuit from the Trump campaign challenging the state’s new mail-in voting law. In Wisconsin, a federal judge appointed by President Obama ordered the state to extend its deadlines for accepting mail-in ballots well beyond Election Day up to Nov. 9 as long as the ballots were postmarked on or before Nov. 3.

There is an expectation that Democratic nominee Joe Biden will challenge the results of a close election in court with the 2016 Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton urging Biden not to concede “under any circumstances.”

President Trump himself was noncommittal in responding to a reporter’s question Wednesday about the peaceful transition of power should he lose the election. Trump complained about mail-in ballots rather than directly answering the question.

“We’re going to have to see what happens. You know that I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots, and the ballots are a disaster,” Trump said. “Get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a very peaceful — there won’t be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation.”

Several Republicans condemned the president’s comments without directly mentioning Trump.

On Thursday, the president committed to accepting the results of the election if it came to a Supreme Court decision.

“One of the things you said when asked about if you lose the election, will you accept the result? You said well we’re going to have to see what happens, you know. I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots, and the ballots are a disaster,” Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade asked Trump in a radio interview reported by the Washington Examiner. “Many think you are saying if you do lose you’ll never ever leave. That’s not what you’re saying. We just spoke to [Sen.] Lindsey Graham. He said, ‘We have every reason to contend anything that may be controversial,’ and I’ll paraphrase, if it gets to the Supreme Court and they decide Joe Biden won, Joe Biden won. Do you agree with that?”

“Oh that I would agree with, but I think we have a long way before we get there,” the president said.

Fallen soldiers Intelwars Joe Biden Media President Donald Trump

Joe Biden claims ‘every outlet’ confirmed Trump bad-mouthed soldiers. But not one source has gone on record to confirm the claim.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden claimed Monday that “it’s been confirmed by every [news] outlet” that President Donald Trump referred to fallen U.S. service members as “losers and suckers.” Biden’s assertion is false, given that not one person has gone on the record to any media outlet affirming or confirming that the president bad-mouthed America’s war heroes.

What are the details?

“Of all the things that Trump has said and done, nothing is more offensive than the way he’s spoken about many of you, and brave women and men who served the nation in uniform — those who have given their lives in service to this nation,” Biden said during a
speech in Wisconsin.

“It’s been confirmed by every outlet that he referred to them as losers and suckers,” the Democrat continued. “That’s what Trump calls those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Early this month, The Atlantic published a
disputed report citing four anonymous sources who claimed that President Trump referred to fallen U.S. service members as “losers” and “suckers” in discussions with senior administration officials during a trip to France in 2018.

The story blew up, and a few outlets, including Fox News and the Associated Press, claimed to have “confirmed” parts of the accounts described by The Atlantic while also citing anonymous sources. Weeks later, as of this writing, not one source has gone on the record in confirming the claims, which Trump vehemently denies.

Biden also acknowledged a day after The Atlantic’s story broke that it was not confirmed, saying in a speech from Delaware, “If, what’s written in The Atlantic is true, it’s disgusting.”

But the former vice president is now claiming the report has been confirmed by “every outlet,” when in fact, it has not been confirmed by a single one — including The Atlantic itself.

As Glenn Greenwald noted in The Intercept, the media has resorted to reporting rumors as fact.

After pointing out another so-called “confirmed” story from anonymous sources that turned out to be false, Greenwald writes:

Quite aside from this specific story about whether Trump loves The Troops, conflating the crucial journalistic concept of “confirmation” with “hearing the same idle gossip” or “unproven assertions” is a huge disservice. It is an instrument of propaganda, not reporting. And its use has repeatedly deceived rather than informed the public. Anyone who doubts that should review how it is that MSNBC and CBS both claimed to have “confirmed” a CNN report which turned out to be ludicrously and laughably false. Clearly, the term “confirmation” has lost its meaning in journalism.

Trump admin disputes account

Current and former Trump administration officials who were on the 2018 trip to France have disputed The Atlantic’s account, including former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and former national security adviser John Bolton, who is now a frequent Trump critic and even wrote a book about his time in the administration.

Bolton told Fox News that the claims made in The Atlantic’s story are “simply false.”

Bolton later told The New York Times that he was present for the discussion when Trump purportedly made the disparaging comments about troops and reiterated that he did not hear any of the alleged remarks The Atlantic had reported, but he did acknowledge that the president could have made the remarks “later in the day or another time” when he was not present.

The day The Atlantic’s story came out, President Trump tweeted, “I never called our great fallen soldiers anything other than HEROES. This is more made up Fake News given by disgusting & jealous failures in a disgraceful attempt to influence the 2020 Election!”

According to CBS News, he declared later that evening at a rally in Pennsylvania, “I would be willing to swear on anything that I never said that about our fallen heroes. There is nobody that respects them more. So, I just think it’s a horrible, horrible thing.”

Iranian President: The U.S. Will Suffer A Humiliating Defeat This Weekend

Speaking in a Wednesday cabinet session, President Hassan Rouhani said Washington failed in its attempts to reinstate a United Nations arms embargo as well as international sanctions on Iran, and these failures amount to major victories for Iran. Rouhani added that the U.S. would “suffer a humiliating defeat this weekend.”

“The US suffered ignominious defeats,” he said. “Our people should pay attention. This Saturday and Sunday will be days of the Iranian nation’s victory and days of humiliating defeats for the U.S,” he added according to Iran Front Page News.

“So, I urge anti-Iran news channels abroad not to fabricate stories that would indicate that the U.S. has made a claim and has waited for a month, so it can use this mechanism,” the president said. “After all, no mechanism ever started in the first place to be producing any results,” he added.

“I congratulate the Iranian nation, in advance, on the success that Iranians will secure on Saturday and Sunday, the same way that I congratulated Iranians on their resistance during the eight-year Iraqi imposed war on Iran [in the 1980s],” he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the president fulminated against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain for normalizing their relations with Israel. “[Israeli authorities] are committing more and more crimes in occupied Palestine every day. How come [the UAE and Bahrain] are extending your hands to Israel? Then you want to give Israel bases in this region. You will be responsible for all grave consequences of this move. Your action is against regulations and regional security,” he said.

A month ago, mainstream media in the U.S. declared that Trump has suffered a “humiliating defeat” at the UN in his efforts to impose sanctions on Iran.

US efforts to indefinitely extend an arms embargo collapsed last week when it suffered a humiliating defeat at the UN Security Council. A resolution sponsored by Washington only secured one other vote from the 15-member UN Security Council.

The US continues to maintain that despite its unilateral withdrawal it nonetheless has “an explicit right” to initiate the snapback sanctions and that any argument to the contrary would “create a perilous precedent that could threaten the force of virtually any Security Council decision.”- Middle East Monitor, 8/20/2020

Hopefully, this doesn’t elude to a war. It’s important information, however. Stay alert and aware. If history has shown us anything, it’s that things will get crazy as the rhetoric ramps up.

2020 Election covid face mask Face mask debate Intelwars Kayleigh McEnany Liberal Media Media peaceful protests

Reporter asks press secretary why it’s OK for the president to have thousands of people at his outdoor rallies. She explains: These are ‘peaceful protests.’

In the wake of President Donald Trump holding another outdoor campaign rally where many attendees did not wear face masks, the media wanted to know why the White House believes such rallies are OK when states have said they are not allowed.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany used the left’s own “peaceful protests” canard to clearly explain that the president was not doing anything his political opponents were not already doing.

What did she say?

President Trump has been holding — and has scheduled several more — outdoor campaign events with thousands of attendees. On multiple occasions, large portions of the audience have been seen not social distancing and often not wearing masks. This, of course, has been a source of ire and criticism from members of the media who are positioning themselves as people who are very concerned that the campaign is allowing such seemingly reckless behavior.

For example, after Trump’s Aug. 27 RNC speech at the White House, CNN repeatedly characterized the convention session as a “possible super-spreader event.”

And following President Trump’s campaign rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tuesday, the media were aghast that the president would hold an event with so many people who might be putting their health at risk in a state where public gatherings are supposed to be capped at 50 people.

During the White House press briefing Wednesday afternoon, a reporter demanded to know why the president insisted on holding outdoor rallies with thousands of attendees when governors have declared a ban on such gatherings.

“Why did the president have thousands of people, many not wearing masks, at a rally last night in a state that has limited outdoor gatherings to 50 people? Why is he going to Nevada this weekend to hold similar outdoor rallies?” the reporter asked, noting that the events are “in violation of his administration’s own guidance and of the best advice and guidance of local officials who he has said should have final say in these matters”

McEnany was ready for the question and made it clear the president believes that if the rally sauce is good for the liberal “peaceful protest” goose then it is good for the GOP campaign gander.

“People have a First Amendment right, if they so choose, to show up and express their political opinion in the form of a peaceful protest, which is what the president held,” she explained.

Then she called out the media’s double standard when it comes to their treatment of BLM protests versus Trump rallies.

“There’s a real double standard here, CNN had on a guest, apparently a doctor, Rob Davidson, who said, ‘Now, true, there are social distancing issues’ with regard to the protests we’ve seen around the country, ‘however, this is a public health crisis — they are marching against systemic racism,'” McEnany revealed, citing an interview Davison gave Anderson Cooper on Aug. 28.

“So if you’re allowed to march in aggregate in those protests, you are also allowed to show up at a political rally,” she concluded. “You have a First Amendment right in this country.”

SUDDENLY SEIZED-UP: Gold Presumed DEAD!

This article was contributed by Lior Gantz of The Wealth Research Group.

Gold stocks might have peaked for the COMING WEEKS. On August 5th, we may have SEEN THE TOP for the time being.

Just how amazing was the RALLY, which started on March 18th?

  1. The GDX index, which is comprised of the world’s BIGGEST AND most recognized gold and silver miners, has gone from $19 to $44.50, a 134% return in LESS THAN five months.

Year-to-date, the GDX index is up 37%, compared with the NASDAQ 100, which is up only 33%!

With all the noise that the media is making about tech being the GREATEST PLAY ever, a simple low-fee position with GDX has beaten all of these cloud-servicing, Artificial Intelligence and payment processing wonder kids of the cyber world.

  1. The GDXJ index looks to have ALSO TOPPED, and is up 34.9% in 2020, but HOLD YOUR HORSES; that’s 400% more than the average S&P 500 annual return, so I assume you’re not feeling TOO BAD about that!

Still, in a mature BULL MARKET, the GDXJ would handily beat the GDX, so the fact that it isn’t is indicative of FURTHER UPSIDE POTENTIAL.

The way American finance works, with the FEDERAL RESERVE having so much authority to CREATE CURRENCY, the markets have ceased to be “free.”

The big problem with the rich getting richer isn’t that the poor are FRUSTRATED, since entrepreneurs COULD INSPIRE the masses to follow them; the problem is that the wealthy aren’t doing anything that’s REPEATABLE or leaves a trail of guidelines, since all they’re doing is capitalizing on their UNIQUE ACCESS to cheap credit.

When the poor don’t HAVE A PRAYER to join the rich, elevating the collective wealth of the nation, something IS WRONG!

If someone is doing ALL HE CAN and still gets nowhere, we have a structural failure.

For now, this entire CREDIT ORGY is fueling a great party, but what the participants don’t know is that once the music stops, they’ll be asked to pay for this shindig and it WON’T COME CHEAP!

A country like the USA can create many trillions in currency to offset the revenues and the income lost by the pandemic, but it can’t put the genie back in the bottle; this is CURRENCY DEBASEMENT.

Courtesy: Zerohedge.com

The credit expands and generates wealth for equity holders, while the average person GOES DOWN!

No country can thrive as a bastion of capitalism when its citizens have no part in the FUN OF PROFITS, but only toil from dusk ‘til dawn to make ENDS MEET.

I own gold, silver and other safe havens for this reason.

THINGS ARE NEARING a breaking point; it’s just the way it is, unfortunately!

Democratic women Intelwars Kamala Harris Media Racism sexism

Control the narrative: Democratic women pre-warn media to report on Joe Biden’s VP pick without being racist or sexist

Ahead of former Vice President Joe Biden’s announcement of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) as his running mate, a group of powerful Democratic women sent a letter to top executives in the media to warn them against any hint of racism or sexism in news coverage about the candidate.

What are the details?

In the letter, provided here by Axios, the group, referred to as “We Have Her Back,” essentially gave marching orders to the media on how and how not to report on the forthcoming news.

The group explicitly positioned itself as a watchdog-of-sorts intending to “collectively and individually monitor coverage” and “call out those we believe take our country backward with sexist and/or racist coverage.”

Translation: If you step out of line, we will bury you.

The letter, sent last Friday, was signed by some familiar names: “Fatima Goss Graves (National Women’s Law Center), Ilyse Hogue (NARAL) Valerie Jarrett, Alexis McGill Johnson and Melanie Newman (Planned Parenthood), Debra Ness (National Partnership for Women and Families), Cecile Richards (Supermajority), Jess Morales Rocketto, Hilary Rosen, Stephanie Shriock, Christina Reynolds (Emily’s List), and Tina Tchen (TimesUp).”

Here is a particularly colorful portion in which the undersigned offer examples about what would be considered racist or sexist coverage — i.e. what will be summarily denounced by the group:

Women have been subject to stereotypes and tropes about qualifications, leadership, looks, relationships and experience. Those stereotypes are often amplified and weaponized for Black and Brown women. Attempts at legitimate investigations of a candidate have repeatedly turned into misguided stories that perpetuate impressions of women as inadequate leaders, and Black and Brown women as worse. There are multiple ways that media coverage over the years has contributed to the facts of the lack of diversity at the top of society’s roles.

For example:
• Reporting on a woman’s ambition as though the very nature of seeking political office, or any higher job for that matter is not a mission of ambition
• Relationships with partners, staff, colleagues and donors are characterized differently if the woman is not seen as subservient or supportive
• Reporting on whether a woman is liked (a subjective metric at best) as though it is news when the “likeability” of men is never considered a legitimate news story.
• Reporting, even as asides in a story, on a woman’s looks, weight, tone of voice, attractiveness and hair is sexist news coverage unless the same analysis is applied to every candidate
• Reporting on questions of electability of women is, in itself, a perpetuation of a stereotype about the ability of women to lead
• Reporting on doubts women may not be qualified leaders even when they have experience equal to or exceeding male leaders
• Reporting on the heritage of Black women or women of color perpetuates a misunderstanding about who is legitimately American
• Reporting on and using pictures of a woman’s, particularly black women, show of anger at injustice or any other kind of passion in communication perpetuates racist tropes that suggest unfairly that women are too emotional or irrational in their leadership or worse “hate America”

That’s a pretty extensive — and specific — list of do’s and don’t’s.

What else?

In her coverage of the news, Hot Air’s Karen Townsend noted the hypocrisy of such a letter coming from Democrats given their past treatment of Republican women such as former potential first lady Ann Romney and former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

“It is as though these liberal women expect conservatives to forget how Sarah Palin was treated,” Townsend wrote. “Democrats said she was uneducated, ignorant, possibly having a child that wasn’t her husband’s, a hick from Alaska, she wore the wrong clothes, she didn’t speak well, they mocked her religion, and so on. It was hideous.”

According to Townsend, it would appear that racist or sexist messages are really only condemned when one’s party affiliation is Democratic. It’s hard to argue the point.

ROTHSCHILD ACUTE HEADACHE: GOLD’S METEORIC MOVE!

This article was contributed by Lior Gantz of The Wealth Research Group.

This isn’t Warren Buffett’s best year, in terms of PUBLIC PERCEPTION. He’s been ridiculed for selling the airlines a number of days before their SHARE PRICES bottomed and began TURNING AROUND. Gold, which Buffett often says does nothing and “Just Sits There” is SITTING PRETTY and outperforming Berkshire’s by miles and miles. Meanwhile Berkshire’s CASH PILE is eroding fast in PURCHASING POWER, but one thing to remember about Buffett is that he is the greatest capital allocator to ever live.

No one has championed the art of deciding where to put your next dollar to get the best RISK-ADJUSTED RETURN like he has. The chief reason for that, according to Warren himself, can be plainly summarized by his first rule of investing: NEVER LOSE MONEY.

The rule is obviously a rule of thumb (since never losing is impossible), which speaks to his STATE OF MIND – his obsession with playing defense, not offense, and with being consumed by the idea of RISK MANAGEMENT, not with maximum leverage.

Of all the quotes and pearls of wisdom that he has shared over the years, this is the one I see as fitting for the crumbling currency system: “Should you find yourself in a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is likely to be more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.”

While Warren has a HUGE BLIND SPOT when it comes to gold, his psychology is incredible when it comes to making DIFFICULT DECISIONS and being disciplined with shareholders’ funds. He cuts losers fast and for good, a habit that a major survey found was the one that most investors just can’t BRING THEMSELVES to do.

Most investors who have a losing position will SINK WITH THE SHIP; they’ll refuse to admit failure and move on. I’ve talked extensively about position sizing, setting stop losses, rationing buy and sell orders, risk tolerance and net worth, more than I’ve talked about any other topic, but most investors just go ALL-IN regardless. They can’t help themselves.

Back in March, the world went ALL-IN on the dollar. It was such a crowded trade that the system couldn’t HANDLE THE DEMAND for cash. The distrust in any financial instrument was one that we did not even reach in 2008.

DOLLAR BEAR MARKET: DEEP STATE BANKERS LOST THE GAME!

As Buffett said above, then, energy spent on patching holes in a chronically leaking boat is a wasted one; the solution is to JUMP SHIP. More specifically, it is to jump to a BETTER SHIP, not into the cold, open ocean.

The media, owned by deep state bankers, will ALWAYS portray the fiat monetary system as the ONLY VESSEL AT SEA, so that if we don’t save it from sinking to the abyss, we’re ALL DOOMED.

That’s a LOAD OF CRAP.

Not only are there other ships better equipped to handle the turbulent waters, but those ships are BATTLE-TESTED, metaphorically speaking.

My message isn’t that Buffett is always right or that one should treat him as an all-wise guru, but that in CUTTING LOSSES, he has shown that there is no such thing as being HALF PREGNANT. We either stop with this MONETARY LUNACY, or we’re doomed to pay a HEFTY PRICE.

Luckily, you and I have figured out that we don’t have to wait for others to see what we HAVE UNDERSTOOD long ago about the national debt. We’re looking at the sinking fiat currency ship, using binoculars from the deck of the GOLD & SILVER superyacht.

Courtesy: Zerohedge.com

The Rothschilds, along with other powerful families, have STIRRED GLOBAL EVENTS for centuries, manipulating currencies and advocating that banks are safe institutions that the general public ought to trust.

Gold is THE ANTIDOTE to this credit and debt disease.

Lord Evelyn, you and your ancestors have amassed a fortune, at the expense of humanity, but you’ve paid with your soul.

There’s definitely a global resistance movement to the idea that MORE debt will solve the deficit nightmare.

Pain is nature’s way of telling man that he is on the WRONG TRACK.

Those who have trusted governments are about to learn the hard way that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

CNN made a stance against airing the president’s COVID briefings, but their hero Dr. Fauci is a fan of Trump’s new updates

President Donald Trump re-launched the White House COVID briefings this week — briefings that CNN opted to show in bits after famously deciding this spring to cut away from the president’s COVID updates, calling them “propaganda” at one time.

For many weeks, Vice President Mike Pence, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Deborah Birx, and other members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force would give nearly daily briefings on current research, policies, and recommendations on the pandemic. Sometimes even President Trump would make an appearance.

Then the briefings went away.

Trump restarted them this week, holding a few COVID pressers between Monday and Friday. The president struck what many considered a new tone — backing off his previous demand that all schools reopen this fall regardless of the prevalence of the virus in the local communities, urging all people to wear masks and touting masks’ effectiveness, and warning that things were going to get worse before they get better.

The president’s new style of briefings — just him, with no real supporting cast, and lots of sticking to the pro-mask position and softening on school openings — upset many conservatives.

But the president’s new briefings have at least one well-known fan, a man beloved by CNN and other liberal outlets that don’t care for the White House COVID updates: Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Fauci appeared on “Washington Post Live” with political reporter Robert Costa on Friday to discuss all things COVID when the discussion turned to Trump’s new COVID briefings.

Costa asked Fauci if the president’s briefings this week have been helpful or unhelpful.

Fauci noted that he was “pleased” with Trump’s new pressers.

“I think that what is good about this, Bob, that I’m pleased with is that the president has gone out there and is saying things now that I think important, having to do with wearing masks, staying away from crowded places,” Fauci said. “So I think that they have been helpful now.”

He also praised the format of the briefings, noting, “They’ve been short and crisp, which I think is good when you’re trying to get a message across.”

Fauci said that he has had good calls with the president and it’s not necessary for him to be part of Trump’s new briefings — not because of differences with the president but because it would take away from the updates.

“I’m not so sure [joining the president at the briefings] is necessary, because what happens when you do that people ask questions that have a little bit to do with health and it gets mixed up,” he said. “Whenever you’re at a briefing with the president, people start throwing questions in there that have nothing to do with the issue at hand. So I tend to like to see press briefings that are crisp and to the point.”

The doctor said he wants the briefings to continue and believes they are “important,” so, will CNN follow their leader and start airing the COVID briefings?

Ghislaine Maxwell Intelwars Jacob wohl Media

Report: Ghislaine Maxwell paid Jacob Wohl $25,000 to smear Epstein victims

According to a report from the Daily Mail, alleged Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell paid conservative muckraker and former Gateway Pundit reporter Jacob Wohl $25,000 to smear Epstein’s victims and attempt to get prosecutor Geoffrey Berman fired, all in order to prevent charges from being filed against Maxwell.

Maxwell allegedly paid Wohl and his partner Jack Burkman $25,000 to “dig up dirt” on Maxwell’s alleged victims. Also, Burkman was reportedly supposed to use his alleged influence with Attorney General William Barr to attempt to get Berman fired, as part of the deal.

The report alleges that a woman named Kristin Spealman — one of the people who was allegedly approached by Wohl and Burkman as part of their plot — told the Mail that Wohl and Burkman bragged to her that Maxwell had paid them $25,000 for their services.

Additionally, documents obtained by the Mail appear to show that Wohl and Burkman were retained as lobbyists by “Granite Realty, LLC,” the fictitious company named by prosecutors as the vehicle Maxwell used to purchase the house she allegedly used to hide from law enforcement as they sought to question her about her dealings with Epstein.

When reached for comment, Wohl told the Mail, “Every person, even those accused of the most odious of crimes, deserves representation and possesses the right to engage lobbyists to petition the government on their behalf. Otherwise, we cannot comment on client matters.”

Wohl has been repeatedly accused in the past of orchestrating plots to discredit public figures by pushing stories of fake or fictitious sexual assaults. In 2018, Wohl was accused of soliciting women who would falsely accuse Special Counsel Robert Mueller of sexual misconduct. At the time, Wohl wrote for Gateway Pundit, which carried Wohl’s reporting on the alleged scandal. When the allegations unraveled, Gateway Pundit announced that it was “suspending” its relationship with Wohl and modified some of its stories on the allegations.

Wohl and Burkman were also accused of orchestrating a similar plot against former Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg in 2019. In 2020, a woman came forward and claimed that Wohl and Burkman paid her to lie about inappropriate sexual conduct by Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Wohl was also charged earlier this year with multiple felonies related to alleged unlawful sale of securities. Wohl has pleaded not guilty to those charges.

Americans Anger civil unrest COVID-19 crises Fear fragile mood frustration George floyd Headline News heat households Intelwars LIES lockdowns mainstream media exaggeration manufactured crises Media perfect storm plandemic shelves stocked supply chains unemployment

Record Temperatures, Long Lines And Increasing Scarcity Will Greatly Test The Patience Of Americans This Summer

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog.

his is going to be a long, hot summer that none of us is likely to forget any time soon.  Coming into this year, we knew that societal tensions would be running high because 2020 is an election year.

Many are convinced that this is the most important election in modern American history, and I expect for there to be some extremely shocking surprises as we draw closer to November.  Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 continues to surge to new heights, and the restrictions that authorities have instituted to fight this pandemic have created a huge backlash.  So many people have such extreme emotions about COVID-19, and unfortunately, it appears that this crisis is not going away any time soon.  Of course, the civil unrest that erupted in the aftermath of the tragic death of George Floyd took societal tensions to an entirely new level that we have never seen before.  There was rioting, looting, and violence all over the nation, and more chaos could literally break out at any moment.

So to say that our national mood is “fragile” right now would be a major understatement.  I have never seen so much anger and frustration in this country in my entire lifetime, tens of millions of Americans have already lost their jobs, and a lot of people are not even able to pay their most basic bills at this point.  In fact, one recent survey found that nearly a third of all Americans have not even made “their full housing payments for July”

As the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic continues, almost one-third of U.S. households, 32%, have not made their full housing payments for July yet, according to a survey by Apartment List, an online rental platform.

And now, on top of everything else, here comes the heat.

On Sunday, high temperatures were above 100 degrees all over the western half of the country

Heat alerts are in effect from California to Alabama as high temperatures will be 10-15 degrees above average on Sunday.

Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tucson will all see high temperatures of at least 110 degrees, and all three are likely to tie or break their daily record high temperatures. In Texas, cities including Dallas, San Antonio, and Lubbock will all exceed 100 degrees.

Unfortunately, Sunday is just the beginning.  A “heat dome” has formed over the middle of the country, and that is likely to mean high temperatures of 90 degrees or greater for approximately 80 percent of the nation “for the next few weeks”

A PERFECT STORM of crises is forming across the United States. Above our heads, a “heat dome” of high pressure could blast 80 percent of the continental US with temperatures over 90 degrees for the next few weeks. This coming in a summer when the Covid-19 lockdown has trapped people indoors, many without air-conditioning—and mass unemployment may mean that residents with AC units can’t afford to run them.

Needless to say, this is not coming at a good time.  Crime rates are absolutely soaring and the streets of many of our major cities already resemble war zones.

And during these very hot summer months, many Americans will have to wait in exceedingly long lines for one reason or another.  I have written numerous articles about the massive lines that we have seen at food banks around the country, and lines at COVID-19 testing sites have gotten extremely long as well

Food banks in Vermont and Arizona have miles-long queues of cars. At testing sites in Florida, motorists show up with full gas tanks to keep air conditioning pumping all day. Travel to Europe is off, with America waiting behind other nations to re-enter someday. Even the electronic realm is tied up: Amid 11% unemployment, people applying for benefits report frozen computer screens and abrupt phone disconnections. Sometimes, the reward waiting at the end is simply a chance to try again tomorrow.

I couldn’t imagine waiting “all day” to get tested for COVID-19, but apparently there are a lot of people that are so desperate to get tested that they are willing to do this.

On top of everything else, a wide variety of products are becoming increasingly scarce at our local grocery stores.

This isn’t a major national crisis yet, but you may have noticed that your local grocery store is having a much more difficult time keeping certain products in stock than usual.  This is happening because COVID-19 and the accompanying economic slowdown have created serious problems for many key supply chains.

Tony Koretz is the host of “A Minute To Midnite”, and he is also a really good guy that I know personally.  Just a few days ago he received an email from “a supply chain analyst for a large grocery chain”, and what this supply chain analyst had to share was extremely chilling.  The following is a short excerpt from that email

— the meeting of store demand — which is a proxy for actual consumer demand — from company-owned central warehouses has steadily declined over the last 4 months; from a 98% pre-COVID fulfillment rate to 58% as of yesterday.  Key point:  STEADY decline; yes some blips upward from time to time, but overall steady decline to be sure

— what this impacts is the presentation on the shelves; for example:  do we have some or no toilet paper, tomato paste, rice and noodles, etc., etc.; you will also see new and unknown brands coming in to substitute for a product, but that is only going to be a temporary stop-gap as these are from 2nd and 3rd tier vendors who may not carry as much clout in getting their own raw-material supply chains filled…these too will dry up and go away over the next 3-6 months (not to mention the effect of absenteeism in their own ranks, leading to an inability to produce said 2nd/3rd tier products)…

— there is also a trend to see less variations on products; for example, we only have 3 variations on tomato paste to put on shelves as-opposed to the 15 we had pre-COVID

— to the folks in the industry, this is known as the presentation and the service level at the shelf in the store; service levels on some harder-hit commodities are near 10% at-best, averaging in the 70% level on an aggregate across all stores/commodities when you carve-out bath tissue, paper towels, baby wipes, disinfectant wipes;  comparatively during pre-COVID service levels were in the very high 90’s for all products (sans SEASONAL)…

— Additional contributing factors:  in addition to waning vendor fulfilment, we are also seeing more-and-more absenteeism in our warehouses due to COVID cases, fear, exhaustion.

You can read the rest of the email right here.  Of course, none of this information should surprise us, because it is obvious that grocery stores are having a very difficult time keeping their shelves stocked.  But getting this sort of inside information does help us to understand exactly why it is happening.

If you are anticipating that the end of this year and the beginning of next year will be chaotic, the next couple of months will be your best chance to get stocked up.

My suggestion would be to take advantage of this window of opportunity while we have it.

America has entered a time of great upheaval, and much of the country is simply not going to be able to handle the major national nightmares that are ahead of us.

PLANETARY COMBUSTION: Market Spooked – GOLD TENACIOUS!

This article was contributed by Lior Gantz with the Wealth Research Group.

There’s no reason to ARGE OVER THIS with your coworkers, family members, and neighbors if they are STILL ASLEEP because the sheep masses won’t GET IT: the media is snowballing the GOOD NEWS into a second wave!

You have to be TOTALLY NAÏVE to not connect the dots. Literally, they’re reporting that A MASSIVE AMOUNT of people are infected (which we knew all along), but the death rate is PLUMMETING.

In other words, we should be celebrating that the LETHALITY LEVELS are much lower than these experts led everyone to believe in February, March, and April, but we’re considering imposing NEW RESTRICTIONS instead.

This whole thing is such a tragedy.

Courtesy: Zerohedge.com

Without a doubt, investors FEAR the RESUMPTION of either RESTRICTIVE AREAS or other measures since they’re voting with their wallets – or speculative brokerage accounts, I should say.

The first thing that’s tragic is that CHINA tried to cover it up. So much of this chain reaction could have been STOPPED EARLIER if other government trusted the reports that came from Asia, but they didn’t.

Lack of trust, especially on a global scale in the information age, is such a UNIQUE OCCURRENCE.

The second tragedy is that we’re teaching THE WHOLE WORLD wrong habits about economics.

Can you imagine how many business owners and employees now think that FAILING IS IMPOSSIBLE? The system being above the rules of economics is what they may be SEDUCED TO BELIEVE.

The voices of reason, those of people that have been around the block and have lived to tell about it, are PILING UP, though, and they’re saying the same thing: WEAK DOLLAR.

This is what Goldman Sachs has just published to its 8-figure clients:

Courtesy: Zerohedge.com

It’s very interesting because we have written DOZENS OF LETTERS explaining this very topic. Gold is not an INFLATION HEDGE, but a SURPRISE INFLATION hedge.

In other words, investors don’t buy gold when inflation is JUST AS THEY EXPECTED, but rather when it is out of control from its trend.

What has the world BEEN TOLD for nearly a decade by the most powerful central bank? “We don’t understand inflation; it is STUBBORNLY BELOW our 2% target and we can’t figure this thing out.”

I want to stress this because it will be the DRIVING FORCE behind the insane BULL MARKET evolving in precious metals right now.

They’ve domesticated the animal to believe 2% inflation is an INSURMOUNTABLE WALL. When that is breached, even though it’s VERY LOW in absolute terms, the reaction will be like HYPERINFLATION HAS ARRIVED!

This chart explains it best:

There’s no doubt that the FED is not in control of what’s happening, especially now that the government is actually COMING OUT with fiscal programs all the time. The FED is now one of two actors instead of being the only one, like in the Obama years.

My point is that during the times of Ben Bernanke and Janet Yellen, it was mostly those two that were PULLING THE STRINGS and they had more control over interest rates, money supply, and policy, but Trump is different.

Trump is an ALPHA MALE and he’s not about to let Jerome Powell take the country where he wants it to go.

Therefore, you’ve got more than one chef in the kitchen.

Gold is SO CLOSE to $1,800 that I can TASTE IT in my month. Trade accordingly!
