Rachel Maddow and a host of other liberals spread fake news about fabricated texts between Rudy Giuliani and Ivanka Trump

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow and numerous other liberal personalities and outlets were fooled into spreading a false claim against Rudy Giuliani after accusations of inappropriate behavior surfaced.

The video from an upcoming “Borat” movie appeared to show Giuliani reaching into his pants while speaking to a fake reporter in a hotel room. Giuliani later tweeted that he was merely trying to take off his microphone and that he was being smeared because of the revelations he was making about what’s on a hard drive allegedly owned by Hunter Biden.

Maddow and others reposted a claim from Nick Jacobs, the vice president of the College Democrats of Indiana, that he had fooled Giuliani via text into believing he was Ivanka Trump.

Maddow retweeted a tweet from David Freedlander, an editor of Politico Magazine, mocking Giuliani.

“Rudy seems to have learned his lesson, is tightening protocols, checking ID’s, and is now being taken in by someone claiming to be Ivanka Trump but who is in fact the vice president of the College Democrats of Indiana.

Both those tweets were lated deleted when Jacobs admitted that it was a parody meant to be a joke.

They weren’t the only ones to fall for it.

“I can’t,” said Stephanie Ruhl, MSNBC anchor.

“I’m hysterically laughing,” tweeted Emma Vigeland of The Young Turks.

“Rudy Giuliani is the easiest mark in the world. He’s probably an unwitting asset for every foreign government in the world, friends and foe,” said Adam Mordecai, the strategy director for Progress Now.

“Reminder that Rudy owns a cyber security company,” said Christian Schneider of USA Today.

“Just gets better and better,” tweeted Paul Chapman of the Vancouver Sun.

“Jesus H. Christmas, he’s incredible. But totally a match for the Russian intelligence services, I’m sure,” tweeted NeverTrumper Tom Nichols.

“What is going on,” said CNN contributor and former intelligence agent Rasha Rangappa.

Giuliani said that he was going to drop more information about what he found in the laptop hard drive allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden. Democrats have accused him of participating in a Russian disinformation campaign, but the director of national intelligence officially denied the claims in a statement on Monday.

Rudy Giuliani says video from ‘Borat’ movie is an attempt to smear him over Hunter Biden laptop; promises more releases

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani forcefully denied accusations stemming from an undercover video recorded by the comedian behind the “Borat” movie.

Critics of Giuliani, who is a longtime friend and defender of President Donald Trump, pounced on the video that reportedly showed him reaching into his pants while speaking to a woman pretending to be a reporter in a hotel room. The video was recorded as a part of comedian Sacha Baron Cohen’s sequel to his “Borat” movie.

Giuliani denied the damaging characterization of what happened.

“The Borat video is a complete fabrication. I was tucking in my shirt after taking off the recording equipment. At no time before, during, or after the interview was I ever inappropriate. If Sacha Baron Cohen implies otherwise he is a stone-cold liar,” tweeted Giuliani.

He went on to quote the New York Post that called the accusation an “exaggeration through editing,” and said that the episode was an attempt to smear him after he revealed what he allegedly found on Hunter Biden’s laptop on Tuesday.

“This is an effort to blunt my relentless exposure of the criminality and depravity of Joe Biden and his entire family,” he said in a third tweet.

“We are preparing much bigger dumps off of the hard drive from hell, of which Joe Biden will be unable to defend or hide from. I have the receipts,” he added.

Giuliani said that he had delivered the laptop that was allegedly owned by Hunter Biden to the Delaware state police after claiming that he had seen evidence of criminality.

A spokesperson for Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings told USA Today that they had obtained the laptop from the New Castle County Police Department, and then handed it over to the FBI for investigation.

“As we’ve seen in multiple reports, (the FBI) is looking into whether these claims are credible,” said Mat Marshall. “In light of their investigation, we’re referring it over to them now.”

On Monday Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe shot down claims from Democrats that the revelations over Hunter Biden’s laptop were a part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
