Florida man arrested for threatening to kill Trump supporters and 7 Republican politicians: Police

A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill supporters of President Donald Trump and politicians who are allies of the president.

Police arrested Richard Szala, from Clearwater, a suburb of Tampa. Szala, a registered Democrat, reportedly threatened to kill seven prominent Republican politicians who are Trump allies, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), Sen. Rick Scott (Fla.), and Rep. Matt Gaetz.

Szala, 61, also allegedly threatened to kill Trump supporters, including his neighbor.

“We were going to plant signs and what have you, but I thought, you know what, in this environment, maybe not a good idea … and now, oh my God,” Szala’s neighbor John Clayton, a Trump supporter, told WFLA-TV. “No clue. Cause you have no idea who your neighbors are.”

Szala reportedly made online threats against the GOP politicians and Trump supporters on YouTube, according to Clearwater police.

Someone tipped off the Florida Fusion Center about the online threats early Wednesday morning, according to officials. The Florida Fusion Center says it “protects citizens, visitors, resources, and critical infrastructure of Florida by enhancing information sharing, intelligence, capabilities, and preparedness operations for all local, state, and federal agencies in accordance with Florida’s Domestic Security Strategy.”

Law enforcement did a search of the IP address, which led to Szala’s address in Clearwater.

“We got a credible tip from an information intelligence gather source about him posting threatening comments on YouTube,” Clearwater Lt. Michael Walek told WTVT. “His comments were directed to the Republican party, specific people in the Republican party. … He was threatening to shoot them.”

Szala allegedly claimed he was making empty threats and did not intend to carry out any politically inspired violence against Trump supporters.

“He admitted to making the statements out of anger and just shouldn’t have said it, didn’t mean it, but he still said it,” Walek added. “Anytime somebody threatens to shoot somebody and kill somebody because he’s upset with them, it’s inappropriate and not going to be tolerated.

“We take all written threats seriously. It doesn’t matter if it’s a political rant, a school, a neighbor, a friend…anytime you threaten somebody, we can establish probable cause you’re going to jail,” Walek said. “We don’t know if you’re joking. We don’t know what your actions are going to be.”

On Wednesday, Clearwater police went to Szala’s home after learning of the threats. Authorities seized his gun, phone, and computer. Szala was arrested and charged with making a false report concerning the use of a firearm in a violent manner. The arrest happened hours after the 2020 presidential election results started to roll in.

The investigation involved Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the FBI, and the Secret Service.

Szala was charged with harassment by phone in Illinois in 1989, according to public records.

Oregon governor finally activates National Guard to counter violent riots in Portland

The Oregon National Guard was called into Portland after violent riots erupted in the city on Wednesday night. A riot was declared by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office around 7 p.m. after vandals caused damage in the city.

Police said there were two groups that marched through the streets of Portland, where there have been near-nightly protests and riots since George Floyd’s death in late May. Protesters shouted obscenities about Portland’s mayor: “F*** Ted Wheeler!”

Content warning: Graphic content

Rioters smashed windows, including a business that had a sign with a Martin Luther King Jr. quote that read: “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Protesters dressed in all black burned American flags.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said that a “large group of people created a significant risk to public safety.” An unlawful assembly was declared, and ultimately a riot was declared by authorities. The Unified Command, which comprises the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police, engaged protesters.

After months of violent and dangerous riots in Portland, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown finally activated the National Guard to deal with the riots.

Brown deployed 50 National Guard troops in June, but she promised that they were only in Portland as “support personnel” to “care for the injured, processing arrests, directing traffic – much as they do when they are asked to respond to wildfires.”

“They will not be on the front lines making arrests or doing crowd control,” Brown said. “You don’t diffuse violence by having soldiers on our streets. Having soldiers on our streets around America is exactly what President Trump wants. … I want to ensure that the public can safely raise their voices in this much-needed call for reform.”

On Wednesday, the National Guard was on the ground in Portland to help police control the rioters.

The Unified Command issued a statement on the deployment of the National Guard.

“Widespread violence is occurring in Downtown Portland. In the interest of public safety, Governor Kate Brown, under advice of the Unified Command, has activated the use of the Oregon National Guard to assist local law enforcement in responding to any acts of violence, and to maintain public order and ensure community safety. Guard members are trained in crowd control and will be riding with local response teams. They are dressed in military style garb, which is their uniform Oregon National Guard members are civilian community members helping to protect us. We don’t take this decision lightly. Under the Governor’s Order, we continue to work together and share our resources and information to address any public safety concerns.

At least 10 people were arrested, including a man allegedly with a loaded rifle, as well as a man suspected to have thrown a Molotov cocktail at police officers. Police also seized gun magazines, commercial-grade fireworks, hammers, and knives.

Prior to Wednesday’s violence, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown extended Monday’s executive order calling for the Unified Command, a “joint incident command structure allowing multiple agencies to respond to election-related unrest,” according to KOIN. The order was set to expire at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and will now run through 5 p.m. on Friday.

“Across the United States, elections officials are working hard to ensure that every vote is counted, and it may be several days until we know the results of this election,” Brown said in a press release on Wednesday. “It’s important to trust the process, and the system that has ensured free and fair elections in this country through the decades, even in times of great crisis.”

Election Rage: 4 Trump Supporters Stabbed After Fight Near White House

The election anger has begun. In a fight outside of the White House after the elections, four “Trump supporters” ended up stabbed.  Or is this just a false flag to rile up the already divided populace and cause more chaos? You decide.

Three men and a woman, who identified themselves as supporters of Donald Trump, have been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening knife injuries, according to a report by RT. We were promised violence in the past several months leading up to the vote.  It looks like it’s started.

It isn’t clear if the fight that resulted in the stabbing occurred in connection with a protest rally staged in front of the presidential residence on the election night. The scuffle happened near the intersection of 14th Street and New York Avenue Northwest around 2:30 a.m. EST, police reported. Law enforcement is now looking for three suspects over the incident.

The victims said they were members of the Proud Boys, a right-wing pro-Trump group. The police said the suspects may be part of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, according to CBS affiliate WUSA9.  However, a Twitter account for Black Lives Matter angrily rejected this, saying it was a lie and that outlets reporting it were “doing irresponsible dangerous journalism”. And admittedly, that’s what mainstream media has become.

Right-leaning website the Gateway Pundit reported that one of the victims was Enrique Tarrio, the chairman of the Proud Boys. He told the outlet that his stomach was slashed during the altercation. Conservative activist Bevelyn Beatty was also stabbed during the altercation, according to the site.

“We were helping some guy that was getting stabbed by two black males and one female. Bevelyn got stabbed as well as two Proud Boys and the guy they were attacking. I got slashed, but it’s not serious. We were walking to our cars,” Tarrio explained.

No arrests have been made at this time. Beatty has already been mired in controversy when the activist previously was shown repeatedly painting over the Black Lives Matter state-sponsored graffiti in New York City.

A video purportedly showing the fight and its immediate aftermath, including the arrival of a police patrol, is circulating on social media. The party that shot the video can be heard in it claiming they had been jumped by Black Lives Matter” and discussing the injuries their members sustained.

The mainstream media has been known to lie to foment division and hatred and bring about the chaos the elitits have alredy promised us. But Black Lives Matter has not, historically, been a peaceful group of protestors either. Take these media stories with a grain of salt. And the best thing to do is to  please stay out of this type of “protest” and stay safe.

In Antifa-ravaged Portland, Mayor Ted Wheeler is warning of ‘white supremacist’ violence after the election

The Democratic mayor of Portland, Oregon — the city laid to waste by left-wing rioters this year — warned residents this week that “white supremacist” violence and “divisive rhetoric” from Washington, D.C., could lead to a dangerous situation following Tuesday’s election.

“Local law enforcement has been working for several weeks to ensure we have adequate resources available to keep our community safe on and after Nov. 3. We’ve cancelled days off, put staff on call and coordinated across all city bureaus to prepare for a wide range of scenarios,” Wheeler tweeted Monday.

“Given the heightened concerns about potential violence, particularly from white supremist [sic] organizations and the divisive rhetoric from Washington, D.C., the need for coordination and partnership takes on statewide significance. Oregon is likely to be a flashpoint,” he added.

It’s fair enough that Wheeler considers the city and the state of Oregon, in general, to be a “flashpoint” for any political violence that may occur following the election. After all, as was widely reported, the city was ravaged by riots for much of this year.

The demonstrations, which went on for more than 100 consecutive nights and only ended after raging wildfires sparked in the region, resulted in over 1,000 arrests in the city and an incredible amount of property damage.

However, his decision to sidestep mentioning left-wing contributors to the violence such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter as potential threats along with white supremacists is questionable, to say the least.

He’s getting panned

Fittingly, Wheeler’s warning was met with swift backlash from conservative commentators.

Portland-based reporter Andy Ngo wrote: “Who was responsible for the march of destruction on MLK Blvd on Saturday night? That group then went over to Vancouver, Wash. to do the same to businesses there. They chanted, ‘Black lives matter.'”

“You absolute clown. White supremacists aren’t burning down the cities. Resign,” Ian Miles Cheong said on Twitter.

Another wrote: “How absolutely disconnected from reality does one need to be to believe that ‘white nationalists’ are responsible for any of the riots in Portland? Or that the ‘decisive rhetoric’ is coming out of the mouths of anyone but Democrats? Truly incredible levels of derangement here.”

According to the Washington Times, Candace Owens told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that some of the businesses boarding up their stores in anticipation of violence have posted signs supporting Black Lives Matter. This, she said, is proof that they believe property-damaging protesters will come from the left.

“Now why would a business owner feel the need to spray paint on their own business boarded up, ‘We support Black Lives Matter?’ Because they’re hoping that they send that message,” Owens said. “They know exactly who’s going to attack them. They know it’s not Trump supporters. They know it’s the left. It’s the radical left.”

Police departments across the nation preparing for election violence: ‘I don’t think we’ve seen anything like this in modern times’

Tensions are sky-high heading into the 2020 election, and those combustible forces will be inflamed once the winner of the presidential race is officially announced.

Businesses in major American cities have already started to board up their storefronts in anticipation of potential riots from the election. Law enforcement agencies across the country are also preparing for the worst-case scenario, which could mean widespread violence stemming from the presidential election.

“I don’t think we’ve seen anything like this in modern times,” Andrew Walsh, a deputy chief with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, told The Washington Post. “When you look at previous elections, there’s always been the concern when you have large crowds . . . we know [that] can be a target for someone who has an agenda.”

Walsh is concerned that the results of the race likely won’t be available on election night, which could exacerbate the already bellicose situation.

“We just don’t know how long this is going to take, or what this is going to look like, once this is over … and no matter who wins, somebody’s not going to be happy,” said Walsh, who heads the Las Vegas Police Department’s homeland security division.

The New York City Police Department said it would dispatch officers at each of the city’s 1,201 polling locations on Election Day.

“It is no secret that this election is more contentious [than] in years past,” said NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan. “For that reason … our plan also includes the ability to respond to any type of incident that may occur.”

Washington, D.C., canceled days off for police officers starting this weekend. The nation’s capital “spent $100,000 on less-than-lethal munitions and chemical irritants for riot control to replenish a stockpile depleted by clashes over the summer,” The Washington Post reports.

“It is widely believed that there will be civil unrest after the November election regardless of who wins,” said D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham. “It is also believed that there is a strong chance of unrest when Washington, D.C., hosts the inauguration in January.”

According to Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown, the department has canceled all days off for its force in November.

Brown said police and emergency responders are training for “whatever scenario happens on Election Day.”

“Many cities across the country are doing similar planning,” Brown said. “We are all in conversations with our counterparts across the country about what we might expect, but everything is uncertain, and so we’re trying as best we can to anticipate any hazard that might happen, including a weather hazard, snow might happen in our city, along with anything related to protests, embedded agitators that might loot or cause violence or destroy property.”

The Boston Police Department canceled officers’ time off around the election “to provide sufficient public safety.”

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said his administration is planning for potential violence stemming from the election.

“What is kind of alarming to me is that the preparation that we’re putting into this election we’ve never had to put into an election before,” Walsh said. “I certainly wasn’t asked in 2016, ‘What’s your safety plan for Election Day?'”

Austin Police Department Assistant Chief Joseph Chacon said the department would be on “tactical alert” during the week of the election, and that every officer would be made available to respond to civil unrest.

As early as this weekend, the Texas National Guard plans to send up to 1,000 troops to five cities: Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

The Beverly Hills City Council approved “an additional $4.8 million for supplemental police and security services in anticipation of the potential civil unrest around the presidential race,” including “hiring two private armed security firms,” according to the Beverly Hills Courier.

For the first time in Denver’s history, the city is establishing a police command center in preparation for potential post-election unrest.

Denver’s Public Safety Director Murphy Robinson said he is aware of two planned protests on Election Day with upwards of 2,000 people each.

A report from The Federalist states that insurgent groups against President Donald Trump have already planned Election Day turmoil to “make sure Trump leaves the White House.”

“[W]e’re making plans to be in the streets before the polls even close, ready to adapt and respond to whatever comes our way,” the group Shut Down DC said on its website. The purpose of the gathering is to “be together to process our feelings of hope, anger, fear and exhaustion as a community.”

The New Jersey Department of Homeland Security and Preparedness issued a threat assessment in September that warned about “threats from domestic extremists and foreign adversaries have emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic, anti-government sentiment, nationwide civil unrest, and various forms of disinformation. These threats will begin to converge with the Presidential election in November in a manner not previously experienced by our nation.”

Businesses boarding up in cities across the country in anticipation of election chaos: ‘It’s pretty scary’

There are still four days until the 2020 presidential election, but businesses in major cities across the United States are already preparing for the worst. This week, there was a major push by businesses to board up storefronts in American cities, including Boston, Chicago, Denver, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C.

Many of the large cities have already been plagued with protests and violent riots since the early summer, but business owners are anticipating potentially worse chaos on Election Day, and what could turn into election week(s) when the official winner is declared.

In Washington, D.C., luxury retailers have already begun to board up their shops ahead of Tuesday’s election. Alex Provenzano, who owns a salon in downtown D.C., boarded up his door and windows on Wednesday.

“I’m usually a very positive person; I hope for the best,” Provenzano told USA Today. “But the people are very stressed out, and there is a lot of uncertainty in the country right now. It’s pretty scary.”

There are even barriers and fences being constructed in the neighborhood near the White House.

Los Angeles has already been hit hard by riots over the past months, which has caused many business to board up previously. Now more business owners are preparing for even more upheaval.

The city of Beverly Hills has reportedly already decided to close down the iconic and swanky Rodeo Drive shopping area on Nov. 3 and 4.

Plywood was also seen being put up on storefronts in San Francisco as if a hurricane was imminent.

In Boston, portions of the Prudential Center was boarded up on Thursday to prevent property damage.

In Chicago, businesses along the Magnificent Mile shopping area are boarded up, and there are barriers still remaining from previous protests that escalated into civil unrest.

The Santa Monica Police Department said they have no intelligence of civil unrest on Election Day, but said, “We also know that things can change rapidly and are actively monitoring the situation.”

“We have received questions about reinforcing storefronts. As a Police Department, we cannot tell business what to do when it comes to boarding up,” the SMPD statement said. “However, we understand the need to feel secure and we respect your decisions on how to handle your day to day operations. If you choose to board up your business or want to have the materials ready to do so, we support you.”

In New York City, the NYPD advised businesses located in Midtown Manhattan to “take additional security measures in preparation for the possibility of large-scale demonstrations around the coming presidential election,” according to the Wall Street Journal.

The NYPD told businesses they should “move or secure items such as street furniture, trash cans and small planters that are located at sidewalks and plazas adjacent to storefronts before the Nov. 3 election.”

ServiceChannel, which provides facility management software and contractor sourcing for 550 brands, noted that “companies including at least 10 luxury brands had ordered board ups or other security measures at 539 locations around the U.S.,” according to Quartz.

Professionally boarding up a store can cost more than $5,000, and up to $20,000 for a large store, according to ServiceChannel.

More Than Half of All Americans “Plan to Stockpile Food and Other Essentials” For the Chaotic Months Ahead

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog.

There was a time when preppers were relentlessly mocked, but nobody is laughing now.  Today, most Americans are thinking about stockpiling food, and this massive shift in our national mindset has been sparked by concern about what is going to happen in the months ahead.

Many Americans believe that another wave of the coronavirus pandemic is coming, others believe that our ongoing economic depression will get even deeper, and yet others are convinced that the upcoming election could produce widespread violence.  Of course, there have always been people that have been deeply alarmed about future events, but we have never seen anything quite like this.  In fact, a brand new survey has found that over half of all Americans are currently planning “to stockpile food and other essentials”

Slightly more than half of Americans in a recent poll from Sports and Leisure Research Group say they already have or plan to stockpile food and other essentials. The chief reason: fears of a resurgent pandemic, which could lead to disruptions such as new restrictions on businesses. On Oct. 2, the number of COVID-19 cases in the USA was its highest in almost two months.

People still remember the shortages that we witnessed earlier this year when the coronavirus pandemic first erupted in this country, and those that ended up being stuck at home without enough toilet paper would rather not repeat that experience.

So as the mainstream media continues to hype a new wave of the pandemic, we should expect to see Americans hitting the grocery stores really hard.  And according to data company Envestnet Yodlee, there is evidence that this is already happening

Already, there’s some evidence that grocery sales are rising, according to data from industry sources. The typical bill for a trip to the grocery store rose to $72 for the week ended October 6, or 11% higher from the week before, according to data company Envestnet Yodlee.

“That’s the highest we’ve seen since the first week of June and the second-highest since we started tracking this in January,” said Bill Parsons, group president of data and analytics at Evestnet.

Fortunately, many grocery store chains anticipated a spike in demand in advance and started stocking up ahead of time.  The following comes from CNN

Grocery stores across the United States are stocking up on products to avoid shortages during a second wave of coronavirus.

Household products — including paper towels and Clorox wipes — have been difficult to find at times during the pandemic, and if grocery stores aren’t stocked up and prepared for second wave this winter, runs on products and shortages could happen again.

During a time when other retailers all over the nation are failing at a pace that we have never seen before, many grocery store chains are actually experiencing booming sales.

And of course I have been warning that this would eventually happen for a very long time.  During a time of crisis, demand for food and other essentials tends to go up and demand for non-essential items tends to go down.

Needless to say, this is something that is not just happening in the United States.  All over the world, we have seen demand for food on the rise, and this comes at a time when global food production has become increasingly stressed.

As a result, food prices all over the world are starting to escalate quite aggressively

Food prices continue rising during the coronavirus pandemic, jeopardizing food security for tens of millions worldwide.

On Thursday, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations said world food prices rose for the fourth consecutive month in September, led by surging prices for cereals and vegetable oils, reported Reuters.

FAO’s food price index, which tracks the international prices of the top traded food commodities (cereals, oilseeds, dairy products, meat, and sugar), averaged 97.9 in September versus a downwardly revised 95.9 in August.

Sadly, this is just the beginning.

Global food supplies will continue to get even tighter, and global demand for food will just continue to shoot higher.

So I would stock up while you still can because prices will never be lower than they are right now.

Meanwhile, our society continues to unravel right in front of our eyes.  You would think that the Lakers winning the NBA title would be a time to celebrate for the city of Los Angeles, but instead, large crowds of young people used it as an opportunity to riot and attack police officers

A crowd of more than 1,000 revelers descended into the area around Staples Center after the game. Unruly individuals mixed within the crowd began throwing glass bottles, rocks, and other projectiles at officers. That is when an unlawful assembly was declared, and only a limited number of people complied and began to disperse. A larger portion of the group broke off and began vandalizing businesses while continuing to engage in violent behavior, some aimed at responding officers.

In Portland, protesters just toppled statues of Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln during a “day of rage”, but the mainstream media didn’t seem to think that this was any sort of a problem.

And in the middle of the country, the violence never seems to stop in the city of Chicago

Five people were killed and 48 others were injured by gunfire this weekend in Chicago. Five of those wounded were teenagers.

Last weekend saw 37 people shot throughout the city, five of them fatally.

Of course, things could soon get a whole lot worse.

According to one recent survey, 56 percent of all Americans expect “an increase in violence as a result of the election”.

Isn’t that incredibly sad?

Many are still hoping that such a scenario can be avoided if one of the candidates is able to build an extremely large lead on election night.  A large enough lead could potentially cause the candidate that is behind to concede fairly quickly, and that may ease tensions.

But I wouldn’t count on that.

At this point, we are about 500 hours away from the election, and both sides are indicating that they are prepared to fight until the bitter end.

And the side that ultimately ends up losing is likely to throw a massive temper tantrum, and that won’t be good for our country at all.

So it makes sense that so many Americans are making extra preparations for the months that are ahead because it definitely appears that they could be quite rocky.
