argentina Coronavirus Daniel horowitz Economy Intelwars lockdown Mask mandate SOUTH AMERICA

Horowitz: Argentina is world’s worst COVID-19 hot spot despite 200-day lockdown

Who would have thought that in the 21st century numerous countries would revert to dark age thinking concerning viral epidemics? In Argentina, officials were so paranoid and panicked over the virus that not only did they lock down the country for over 200 days, they ordered all bodies of the deceased in some areas be cremated.

The result? They are now in the worst position of any country … after having destroyed their society for 200 days to stop it!

On Tuesday, NBC
reported that Argentina had the highest positivity rate of confirmed COVID-19 testing of any country in the world. Their positivity rate is just shy of 60%. They also have the world’s highest seven-day rolling average of new fatalities. While the media is claiming they are being lax about enforcement, the reality is that they had one of the earliest and most draconian lockdowns. They had a mask mandate in place since April 14. They even forced cremation of some of those who died from the virus against the will of Jewish residents who asked for a proper burial.

Yet, the strategy of locking down and wearing masks to somehow avoid the spread of a virus from the living is as primitive and sophomoric as the dark age fear of dead bodies spreading the virus. As their Latin American neighbor, Peru, learned, lockdowns only work until it is actually time for the virus to spread in a given area. At that point, nothing works until it runs its course. Peru has the overall highest per capita fatality rate
despite having what some considered the strictest lockdown.

Argentina, like many of the countries around the world that barely experienced any virus deaths during the first few months of the pandemic, thought that their draconian policies enabled them to dodge the bullet. But when spring turned into summer, they began experiencing growth in cases that later intensified, as we have seen in many countries that first escaped the virus. Argentina
was praised by the liberal media for following the science and imposing a “strict COVID-19 lockdown,” which “saved lives.”

Israel is another prime example of a country that had a strict lockdown early on and a continuous mask mandate, yet the virus is now spreading quickly. The plaudits that were lavished upon their leaders was as premature as praising a baseball team for its performance after the first inning.

While we are busy counting COVID-19 deaths in many of these countries without any regard as to whether those deaths were avoidable, we know that the lockdown deaths are 100% man-made. After locking down for over a half year, Argentina has nothing to show for it but an economy on the brink and massive poverty.
Nearly half of all its citizens are now living in poverty and their rate of inflation is over 40%.

Contrast this to Sweden where its
economy and mental health is in intact with fewer deaths and it becomes clear that lockdowns were the worst public policy decision in modern history. All pain and no gain.

As Dr. Scott Atlas, President Trump’s new coronavirus adviser, recently
said, “Lockdowns are a luxury of the rich.”

2020 Election Ban on fracking Daniel horowitz Intelwars Joe Biden Kamala Harris mike pence Vice Presidential debate

Horowitz: Kamala Harris’ stunning reversal on fracking ban

What a difference a general election debate makes. In the primaries, Democrat candidates had no problem boldly and emphatically proclaiming their anarchist views. Yet, when they get on a general debate stage, they are suddenly shy and full of diffidence about their deep-seated views.

Kamala Harris, just like Joe Biden a week ago, refused to vouch for the Democratic position on packing the Supreme Court, endless virus lockdowns, the Green New Deal, raising taxes on most people, or Antifa rioters. But the biggest shocker of the night was her running away from the fracking ban as if it were the plague. Not only did Harris dodge the issue of banning fracking, she went out of her way to assert on two occasions that Biden absolutely will not ban fracking.

On Sept. 5, 2019, CNN held a “climate change” town hall with the Democrat candidates. Harris could not have been more unequivocal about her desire to ban fracking:

“I’m in favor of banning fracking,” she said flatly in response to a question from a Democrat voter in the audience.

Already early on in the debate Wednesday night, before Vice President Mike Pence even cornered her on fracking, she brought the issue up on her own. In response to Pence accusing Biden of wanting to raise taxes and rolling back regulatory relief in general, Harris
declared, “Joe Biden will not end fracking, he has been very clear about that.”

Pence then pointed out that Biden looked a kid in the eye and said, “I guarantee you we’re going to end fossil fuels.” Here is the video of Biden doing just that on Sept. 6, 2019, in a way only Biden could:

At that point, moderator Susan Page asked Harris about whether Biden supports the Green New Deal that she co-sponsored in the Senate, a question she never answered directly. But again, Harris went out of her way to back away from the fracking ban.

“So, first of all, I will repeat and the American people know that Joe Biden will not ban fracking. That is a fact. That is a fact,” said Harris, prefacing her remarks on environmental policy.

So why would Harris run from an idea that has become nearly universal among Democrats, even though she herself co-sponsored it?

Well, it’s the same reason why President Trump and Pence need to talk about the issue more often. The fracking revolution and the growth of America into an energy superpower is simply the greatest untold miracle of the Trump presidency. It has resulted in massive job growth, cheaper prices, more local tax revenue, stronger economic and even national security leverage against Russia, China, and Iran, and has made us the global energy superpower — all with a very limited imprint on our land.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, before the coronavirus shutdown in March, American crude oil production
hit an all-time record of 13 million barrels per day (bpd). That is an astounding 46% increase in production since Trump took office in January 2017. Poor states like New Mexico have benefited enormously with more state revenue and jobs, as oil production has increased 250% since 2012.

It’s not just our producing capacity that has grown. Our oil refineries are processing record amounts of oil. Earlier this year,
we hit 18.9 million barrels per day through the refineries, clearly keeping up with the supply of production.

Then there is the natural gas revolution. Natural gas production
has increased 28.5% since Trump took office and is hovering near record highs at 3 trillion cubic feet per month. Already in 2011, the U.S. surpassed Russia as the lead producer of natural gas, and now we are flooding the European market. The EIA predicts that U.S. liquified natural gas exports will increase 72% this year over last year’s impressive showing.

In petroleum production combined with “other liquids” production, total U.S. production is
close to 21 million bpd. That is 67% and 83% more than Saudi Arabia and Russia, respectively. Just seven years ago, those countries were producing more than us.

The more we drill for oil and gas, the more we recover. Far from running out of resources, proven reserves of crude oil have
increased by 12% since 2017 and have more than doubled over the past 13 years. Likewise, proven reserves of natural gas increased to 9% since 2017 and more than doubled since 2005 to 504.5 trillion cubic feet.

In addition to nearly achieving energy independence, the U.S. is now dominating the global market and helping relieve the pressure of Iran and Russia’s petro-tyranny on other countries. When Trump took office, there was essentially no concept of us exporting crude oil to the world. Our exporting capacity
has now increased more than threefold. We are also now importing less oil than ever before.

Remember when Iran
threatened to cause an oil crisis after Trump terminated the Iran deal and then killed their top general? Well, it fell flat because not only are we no longer dependent on Middle East energy, but we shield the rest of the world with our umbrella of production and exportation. The days of petro-hostage taking are over.

This has all been made possible by the technological advances and the land leasing and permitting that Harris and Biden want to terminate. However, outside of left-wing rallies and forums they cannot afford to tell the American people the truth. Now you know why.

Airborne transmission CDC Coronavirus COVID-19 Daniel horowitz face masks Intelwars social distancing

Horowitz: New information on airborne transmission demonstrates why masks are useless

The magical mask and the mystical six-foot distance will save you from a respiratory virus that spreads as prolifically as a cold. Or at least we’ve been told that by our overlords for the past six months. The problem is that the virus has been spreading like wildfire despite the overwhelming majority of people adhering to these two rituals with the zealous faith of an Islamic fundamentalist.

Now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention admits that the virus can spread further than six feet. What they fail to admit, but what is nonetheless incontrovertibly clear from their admission, is that masks do not work.

The notion that a virus would spread this profusely from large visible droplets was always dubious. Yes, it’s possible to sneeze droplets into someone’s mouth, but aside from an adult holding her infant baby who sneezes, this is really not very common, especially with people keeping their distance.

Droplets are very heavy and gravity forces them to the ground immediately. Yes, there are likely times when someone hits a half-court shot with their sneeze and gets a visible droplet directly into someone’s mouth, but there is no way that anomaly can account for all the spread.

In comes the CDC on Monday and admits what we have always known — that in addition to large droplets, there are tiny atomized particles of the virus that are emitted every time a person breaths or speaks, much less coughs or sneezes. These virions are so small that they are usually about 1/20 the size of common bacteria. As such, they can remain suspended in the air and infect someone else, primarily indoors where there is poor ventilation and no wind.

While the CDC claims this is not the primary source of transmission (they need to protect the mask mandates!), they concede that in enclosed spaces where an infected individual had been present for a longer period of time, these aerosols can remain suspended for a while and travel more than six feet.

While they downplay this form of transmission as “uncommon,” the reality of the past six months tells a different story. As I’ve chronicled, masks have not worked to stop the spread anywhere they have been mandated with full compliance. Here is a collection of charts from showing the failure of masks to stop the very spread mask supporters are now panicking over.

What this demonstrates is that the CDC’s slow and reluctant revelation of the existence of SARS-CoV-2 airborne transmission is a lot more significant than they are willing to admit. On Monday, a group of medical researchers from Harvard University, University of California, and University of Maryland warned of “an urgent need” to educate the public on the problem of microscopic suspended particles vs. droplets and the actions needed to combat that mode of transmission.

In a letter to Science Mag, the researchers warned that there is a big distinction between the much-vaunted droplets that are 100 ?m (100 micrometers) and the microscopic particles that are usually 60-140 nanometers, or on average, 0.1 micrometers. While droplets are tiny, they are still visible and fall to the ground. The virions, which are at least 1,000 times smaller, are only visible through a scanning electron microscope. The difference, according to the authors is enormous:

Viruses in droplets (larger than 100 ?m) typically fall to the ground in seconds within 2 m of the source and can be sprayed like tiny cannonballs onto nearby individuals. Because of their limited travel range, physical distancing reduces exposure to these droplets. Viruses in aerosols (smaller than 100 ?m) can remain suspended in air for many seconds to hours, like smoke, and be inhaled. They are highly concentrated near an infected person, so they can infect people most easily in close proximity. But aerosols containing infectious virus can also travel more than 2 m and accumulate in poorly ventilated indoor air, leading to superspreading events.

In other words, because the virions of the coronavirus are roughly 100 nanometers, 1/10,000 the width of a hair and 1/30 the size of surgical mask filtrations (about 3.0 microns or 3,000 nanometers), surgical masks do not help. Cotton masks are really pathetic. The hydraulic diameter of cotton is roughly 200 microns, 1,429 times the size of the larger aerosol.

As a friend of mine noted on Twitter, “If you were driving down a tunnel in a truck, the aerosol being the pickup, the tunnel would be 1.83 MILES WIDE.”

Consider how these researchers compare aerosols to smoke inhalation. We already know that the government has warned for years that masks do not work against smoke particles. Most wood smoke particles are about 1,000 nanometers (1 micron), which is 10 times larger than SARS-CoV-2 virions.

Obviously, given that the mask mandate is sacrilege, no respected scientist can openly oppose it. Thus, the authors say to continue wearing masks. But if you read between the lines, they are making a mockery out of the mandate by noting that droplet transmission is rare and suspended aerosols are the main form of transmission.

Individuals with COVID-19, many of whom have no symptoms, release thousands of virus-laden aerosols and far fewer droplets when breathing and talking. Thus, one is far more likely to inhale aerosols than be sprayed by a droplet, and so the balance of attention must be shifted to protecting against airborne transmission.

So, what’s the solution?

There is no solution to this problem other than essentially cancelling life as we know it, at least indoors, for the remainder of our lives.

In addition to existing mandates of mask-wearing, social distancing, and hygiene efforts, we urge public health officials to add clear guidance about the importance of moving activities outdoors, improving indoor air using ventilation and filtration, and improving protection for high-risk workers.

The good news is that the entire premise of panicking over a virus that has a fatality rate of a pandemic flu and presents itself as more mild than the flu for most people is absurd.

As the president and his top coronavirus adviser, Scott Atlas, said this week, it’s time to face the fear head on. We have no other choice. The masks and the six-feet rituals don’t work. It’s time we recognize that there is no reason to hide from this virus, nor do we have the ability to do so anyway.

Coronavirus Daniel horowitz Illegal alien students In-person learning Intelwars online learning public schools

Horowitz: DC allows illegal alien students preference in returning to in-person classes over most Americans

Liberal city mayors have finally discovered that it was a mistake to close schools and that this virus is not dangerous to children. Well … not all children … only illegal aliens. Most American students will have to remain at home in the nation’s capital, while illegal alien children get to attend in-person classes.

So, whose country is this anyway?

On Monday, Mayor Muriel Bowser and D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Lewis Ferebee announced that beginning Nov. 9, some elementary and preschool students in the district will return to in-person schooling. Isn’t it funny how they can already sense that the danger of the virus will dissipate during the first week after the election?

However, there is a wrinkle. According to the Washington Post, only those who are homeless, have special educational needs, or are learning English as a second language get to return to in-person schooling! In other words, for the overwhelming majority of American citizen students, they will continue with Zoom classes indefinitely. However, if they are learning English as a second language, they get to return to normal schooling.

“Learning from home is not working for every student,” Ferebee said at Monday’s news conference. “And we particularly know that it has been challenging for our youngest learners.”

No kidding! It doesn’t work well for all students. So, if there is no longer a danger for those with special needs, then why can’t it work for everyone?

Moreover, why should immigrant children get priority over those from citizen families? Yes, the classification of an LEP, or “Limited English proficient,” student can apply to some legal immigrant families, but given the demographics of D.C. there are likely many illegal alien children who will benefit from this arrangement while American children stay home.

According to the D.C. government, there are over 6,000 students enrolled in LEP programs, roughly 12.5% of the total K-12 population.

The D.C. area has been flooded with unaccompanied alien children in recent years, many of whom have been vulnerable to MS-13 recruitment. According to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, 1,435 unaccompanied alien children have been resettled in the nation’s capital since FY 2015.

According to the Post, the school system spent more money on “hazard pay, a full-time nurse assigned to every school, upgraded air filters and other safeguards in buildings.” Citizens of D.C. who pay a fortune in taxes can take heart in knowing that they are now paying for students of other countries while their children will remain at home.

Those who speak English as a first language are now second-class citizens in our nation’s own capital city.

2015 obergefell decision Daniel horowitz Gay marriage decision Intelwars Supreme Court

Horowitz: Only Justices Thomas and Alito indicate willingness to revisit gay marriage decision

Conservatives still think that so long as they patiently play the judicial supremacy game, they can garner enough votes on the court to overturn recent consequential opinions altering the Constitution and society, such as the decisions creating “right” to an abortion, a gay marriage, or transgender accommodations.

Tuesday’s decision on a gay marriage case demonstrates that there are likely no more than two authentic originalists on the court, jurists who are willing to reverse existing bad decisions, especially when they are wildly popular with the cultural elite.

When the Supreme Court discovered in the 2015 Obergefell case that the 14th Amendment, which was written at a time when homosexuality was criminalized, requires states to offer marriage licenses to those in same-sex relationships, the dissenting voices warned about the upcoming clash with religious liberty. Clearly, five justices on the court today would have never signed off on that opinion. Indeed, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the main dissent. But as we have seen so often, once the decision is made, Justice Clarence Thomas, and sometimes Justice Samuel Alito, stand alone in the desire to reverse course.

Today’s case stems from the July 2015 district court decision in Kentucky that forced Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Davis had been county clerk for 30 years and was following state law, which was reaffirmed by 75% of state voters in 2004.

Just several years prior, in the Windsor case, then-Justice Anthony Kennedy, cited prior precedent that “states, at the time of the adoption of the Constitution, possessed full power over the subject of marriage and divorce . . . [and] the Constitution delegated no authority to the Government of the United States on the subject of marriage and divorce.”

However, thanks to Obergefell, the district judge ordered Kim Davis to spend time in jail!

Which leads to Tuesday’s court order in Kim Davis v. David Ermold. Several same-sex couples are now suing her years later for “damages.” Davis appealed to the Supreme Court to dismiss the lawsuit under the principle of qualified immunity for a government official. The Supreme Court unanimously agreed to deny certiorari in this case because they did not agree with her argument of qualified immunity. However, Justice Thomas wrote an important concurrence regarding the underlying issue.

“Davis may have been one of the first victims of this court’s cavalier treatment of religion in its Obergefell decision, but she will not be the last,” Thomas wrote. “Due to Obergefell, those with sincerely held religious beliefs concerning marriage will find it increasingly difficult to participate in society without running afoul of Obergefell and its effect on other anti-discrimination laws.”

Thomas complained how judicial mandates of gay marriage prevented states from making accommodations for religious liberty. He concluded by noting that although this case doesn’t give them a proper avenue to reverse Obergefell, it needs to be revisited:

“This petition implicates important questions about the scope of our decision in Obergefell, but it does not cleanly present them. For that reason, I concur in the denial of certiorari. Nevertheless, this petition provides a stark reminder of the consequences of Obergefell. By choosing to privilege a novel constitutional right over the religious liberty interests explicitly protected in the First Amendment, and by doing so undemocratically, the Court has created a problem that only it can fix. Until then, Obergefell will continue to have “ruinous consequences for religious liberty.” 576 U. S., at 734 (THOMAS, J., dissenting).”

Justice Alito was the only colleague to join Thomas’s concurrence. What about Roberts, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh? Why does Thomas so often stand alone in voicing outrage over the most insane and consequential contortions of the Constitution?

Roberts has already shown that he has made peace with Obergefell. Like many breaches in the Constitution that he originally opposed, Roberts went on to codify and expand Obergefell in a later case. In the 2017 Pavan v. Smith case, the Supreme Court said that lesbian couples in which one woman is impregnated through artificial insemination are not only entitled to have both their names on the child’s birth certificate, the certificate must be as if the “husband” of the duo is the actual biological “father” of the child.

At the time, Roberts, despite having written the main dissent in Obergefell, joined the other five liberals in ruling that Obergefell demands that lesbian couples be treated the same as couples who could actually procreate and that they must be issued birth certificates as if they were the biological parents. Thus, they are decreeing that states must lie about biology and act as if two women or two men can procreate.

Unfortunately, we have not seen any proclivity from Kavanaugh or Gorsuch to overturn passed erroneous rulings on social issues. In fact, Gorsuch gave us the Obergefell of transgenderism last term in the Bostock case.

This, along with other evidence from this past court term, demonstrates that, at best, we currently have two votes to overturn cases like Roe, Obergefell, and Bostock. Even if we hit a home run with Amy Coney Barrett, that would only bring the tally to three. Thus, if liberals are prepared to eschew their obsession with judicial supremacy under the false notion that conservatives will eventually steer that ship, we should shake on it. It’s time to let the states, not the federal courts, decide societal questions.

COVID-19 Daniel horowitz Intelwars Spanish flu 1918 State of the union address Woodrow Wilson

Horowitz: What President Wilson said when he contracted the Spanish flu in 1918

Nothing. Absolutely

In fact, not only did President Woodrow Wilson fail to speak about his own illness, there are no known records of major speeches ever delivered by the 28th president about the Spanish flu, which killed the equivalent of 2.2 million people in today’s population with the median age of death being a tender 28.

The Spanish flu was a greater calamity than COVID-19 in every way and President Wilson got a lot sicker from it than Trump has from this virus. In April 1919, after the worst of the Spanish flu has passed, Wilson contracted the virus in Paris while meeting at the Big Four peace talks about the aftermath of World War I. Rear Adm. Cary T. Grayson
described the president as having been “suddenly taken violently sick with the influenza at a time when the whole of civilization seemed to be in the balance.”

Wilson never discussed his illness publicly and the country was unaware of the extent of his illness at the time. This silence reflected a broader mentality at the time, an understanding that the ability of human beings to change the arc of a respiratory virus through public policy is extremely limited.

With this in mind, I was curious to research what Wilson had said about the Spanish flu during the 1918 State of the Union address. That year, the address
was delivered on Dec. 2 – just weeks after the peak months of the virus when hundreds of thousands of very young Americans perished. What words of healing and inspiration did he offer? What sort of public policy promises, proclamations, mandates, and restrictions did he announce?

Zero. Zilch. Nada.

There was absolutely no mention or fleeting reference to the Spanish flu in that or any other State of the Union address – or any other major speech for that matter.

It’s truly hard to overstate the enormity of this observation, especially looking through today’s COVID-obsessed political lens. The State of the Union address was a big deal for Wilson. Ever the show-boater, Wilson
was the first president since John Adams to restore the annual address to the prominence of a live in-person speech before Congress. Thomas Jefferson, who felt that the address reeked of European monarchism, began a tradition of mailing in a written report to Congress.

The fact that Wilson failed to mention a word about the virus, even amid the fallout from World War I, speaks volumes. This virus today is not nearly as devastating in terms of the true death toll and years of life lost as the Spanish flu. But still, imagine Trump delivering the address in a few months and failing to mention a word about it?

The reality is that society understood in those days that a respiratory virus, unlike a war, is a God-made plague and that there is little that can be done to mitigate its spread. There is no known method of arresting the spread of a virus and making it disappear. The best we can do is focus on treatment, which is thankfully getting better. Unfortunately, in 1918, they lacked antibiotics and so many other staples of medicine we rely on today.

Rather than educating the public on the best use of vitamins, zinc, hydroxychloroquine and other available remedies, the public health “experts” sold us a bill of goods – that somehow, we could avoid getting the virus by hiding and running forever. We now see that it’s foolish to think you could run or hide from or arrest the spread of such a virus.

In past generations, they understood that trying to stop the spread of flu-like viruses is a fool’s errand. As Dr. Andrew Bostom, an academic medical researcher and associate professor of family medicine at Brown University, noted on Twitter Sunday, barely anyone remembers the Hong Kong flu of 1968 or that President Johnson was hospitalized with it.

As Dr. Bostom notes, “The adjusted death toll for the ’68-’69 Hong Kong flu would be ~265K.” A similar
dynamic played out in 1957 during the Asian flu, which killed even more people, especially when considering that there are so many more seniors in America today. Try asking your parents if they remember living through those epidemics. Everyone remembers Woodstock in 1968, but very few people remember the Hong Kong flu or Asian flu.

That is because public officials realized that disrupting people’s lives would only harm society, not stop the spread of a respiratory virus. As D.A. Henderson, the former dean of Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, who is
widely credited with helping to eradicate smallpox, wrote in a 2009 analysis of the Asian flu, “This was in recognition that they saw no practical means for limiting the spread of infection.”

warned in a paper a few years earlier, “Experience has shown that communities faced with epidemics or other adverse events respond best and with the least anxiety when the normal social functioning of the community is least disrupted.”

Not only have today’s leaders repudiated the concept of normalcy, they have turned a national panic and psychosis into a “new normal.” And we are continuing to pay for the consequences of ’15
years to flatten the curve.’

City checkpoints Criminals released Daniel horowitz Intelwars New York Ny police department Nyc mayor bill de blasio Out-of-state travelers

Horowitz: New York treating law-abiding Americans as criminals, while promoting criminals and illegal aliens

Now we know why New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio didn’t follow through with his promise to abolish the police. He wants the police around all right … to be used against We the People, even as they are hamstrung from enforcing vital laws against violent criminals.

On Wednesday, de Blasio announced he would be dispatching police to create checkpoints at key entry points into New York City to enforce a mandatory quarantine on all travelers from most states in the country. As I’ve noted before, this is something that would have been out of bounds for a local official to do even under the Articles of Confederation, much less since the more robust federal union of American citizens was created under the U.S. Constitution. Yet, the same man who has violated federal immigration law is now violating federal control over interstate travel and commerce with impunity.

Hence, illegal aliens, including those with heinous criminal records, who don’t belong in the country altogether, are welcome with open arms, while peaceful Americans are illegally placed under house arrest. At a time of a record surge in crime in the city, the police are now being used to randomly pull over suspected out-of-state residents:

Imagine if this would be done to illegal aliens?

But that is par for the course in de Blasio’s New York. You see, as the police are dispatched to enforce unconstitutional edicts against peaceful Americans, the most violent gang members and shooters are being released to further turn the city streets into shooting galleries. All the while, New Yorkers without criminal records are barred from their constitutional right to carry a gun.

Darrius Sutton, 23, a Bloods gang member, was set free without bail after being charged with attempted murder for seriously injuring someone in a shooting on May 15. Yet, he was released without bail and is now believed to be responsible for three more shootings in the city that resulted in seven victims being shot in just one month.

According to prosecutors, Sutton appeared in a hip-hop music video for the song “Crime Rate” by Brooklyn rapper BK Eaz, shortly after being released!

This is also why there has been a 286% increase in robberies in the once poche upper east side of Manhattan. There is simply no deterrent against crime anymore the same way there is against citizens not wearing a mask. We now see murders committed on camera in broad daylight. They simply don’t fear any punishment. One Rochester man was just released without any bond for an alleged murder he committed a few days earlier.

We have a crisis of crime in this country with police stepping back from their jobs (except to enforce mask mandates and illegal travel bans) and jailbreak policies. Rather than spending the past few years fighting those policies, Republicans have joined the jailbreak bandwagon. Isn’t it time to finally provide voters with a bold contrast from de Blasio’s view of morality and law?

President Trump has two opportunities to fight back against the lawlessness of cities that harbor criminal aliens and release domestic repeat offenders while hamstringing police. Trump should refuse to sign any coronavirus bill that contains funding for those cities. He should also use the upcoming FY 2021 budget bill as leverage to defund sanctuary cities.

The tragic mistake was not calling out the military when the insurrection began. By listening to his liberal advisers and allowing the lawlessness to fester, it will be hard to put the genie of anarchy, which was once beyond the realm of thought in this country, back in the bottle. Shockingly, Jared Kushner, along with two top White House staffers, Brooke Rollins and Ja’Ron Smith, reportedly urged Trump to stand down because in their mind black voters want anarchy. This cannot be farther from the truth.

According to a new Gallup poll, 81% of black citizens want police to retain its presence or increase its presence in their neighborhoods. Just 19% want a diminished police presence. Black neighborhoods have been decimated by the riots and hundreds if not thousands of excess homicides have occurred in their neighborhood thanks to the breakdown of law and order. How can these advisers be so obtuse as to conflate the generic black vote with the gang and criminal vote?

The message Trump must champion is the opposite of people like de Blasio: Freedom for peaceful Americans and swift justice against those who harm others. Trump doesn’t need a reboot or reform of his original campaign message; he needs to actually fulfill it.

Coronavirus Daniel horowitz Intelwars mask wearing Masks National lockdowns Philippines quarantine

Horowitz: Philippines had the harshest lockdown and most mask wearing. It didn’t work.

Nowhere is the circuitous insanity and national masochism of lockdown policies more evident than in the Philippines. This nation of over 100 million holds the distinction of having undergone the longest and most severe lockdown. They also have the highest rate of mask wearing in the world, according to a recent survey. In other words, they’ve done everything the propagators of corona panic porn every dreamt of. Yet…

Cases are surging because you can’t run or hide from a respiratory virus.

Their answer? A new lockdown – all the while missing the irony that the first series of totalitarian mandates didn’t work. Now they have a weakened and destitute population to face the virus, while countries like Sweden achieved de facto herd immunity from a position of strength.

Just how insane was the lockdown in the Philippines? Beginning as early as March 15, under the direction of President Rodrigo Duterte, anyone under 21 or over 60 was not allowed out of his home, only one family member could go out for food and medicine, and there was an across-the-board curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. President Duterte threatened to have violators shot.

Tens of thousands of people in America likely died as a result of the lockdown – could you imagine how many hundreds of thousands died from lack of food and medical care in a poor country from such a severe policy of house arrest? This country has been suffering from a hunger crisis for years. The cruel irony is that only 2,000 people have died of COVID-19 in the country of 100 million. Like most Asian countries, they probably have a high degree of cross-immunity from coronavirus colds.

Aside from the insane lockdown, the Philippines holds the distinction of having the highest degree of mask compliance. After all, people don’t want to get shot.

So, after destroying their country, one would think they at least “got rid” of the virus, right?

Wrong! The virus does what it does and was always bound to come to southern latitude countries later, as we are seeing in places like Israel and Hawaii. The national lockdown was in place until June 1 and many local places still had lockdowns until July. Now, the corrupt and evil government has a brilliant idea: a new lockdown.

Hey, how about they just shoot everyone dead and then they don’t have to worry about the virus? That seems to sum up the strategy they have pursued. It’s like curing a migraine by chopping off someone’s head but still finding some way to not get rid of the pain. Manilla and four surrounding provinces are under full house arrest for two weeks.

A quarantine has been imposed in a compound with confirmed cases of COVID-19 to prevent the further spread of the virus in Quezon City, Philippines. (Lisa Marie David | NurPhoto via Getty Images)

In a cruel irony, the country is now in such a weakened state, they will have an attenuated immune system and a medical system flooded with other ailments to now contend with the virus. How prescient was the warning from D.A. Henderson, the former dean of Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, who is widely credited with helping to eradicate smallpox, when he noted how continuing daily lives for most people as normal is the best way to endure through an epidemic.

“Experience has shown that communities faced with epidemics or other adverse events respond best and with the least anxiety when the normal social functioning of the community is least disrupted,” wrote Henderson in a paper co-authored by other Hopkins researchers in 2006.

On Tuesday, AP wrote an op-ed dressed up as a news story asserting wrongly that “many Americans have resisted wearing masks and social distancing,” which resulted in more viral spread.

“Public health experts say the problem has been compounded by confusing and inconsistent guidance from politicians and a patchwork quilt of approaches to containing the scourge by county, state and federal governments,” added AP.

Well, maybe they ought to take a look at the Philippines. There was no confusion or inconsistency there and certainly no lack of obedience. Just pure tyranny. When will we finally learn that when you trade liberty for security, you achieve neither?

Coronavirus COVID-19 Daniel horowitz Intelwars New Normal pandemic flu Vaccine

Horowitz: Moving the goal posts: Global elites hint that corona restrictions will continue forever

“Show me that age and country where the rights and liberties of the people were placed on the sole chance of their rulers being good men, without a consequent loss of liberty! I say that the loss of that dearest privilege has ever followed, with absolute certainty, every such mad attempt.” ~ Patrick Henry

Imagine if the media, politicians, and corporate health care industry would have told people they’d be restricted and forced to wear masks indefinitely because of a virus that is no worse than a pandemic flu for most people? Well, this entire lockdown mentality would have never gotten off the ground. Which is why it started with a sensible idea of 15 days to slow the spread.

But as we soar past 140 days to eradicate a respiratory virus, it’s time for the free people of this country to realize that the freedom will not be restored on its own – ever – unless we grab it back. They are not even hiding their motivation anymore.

The only way the governing elites were able to sucker people into surrendering their liberties was by promising an expeditious vaccine. But now that they have already acculturated people to a “new normal,” they are revealing the truth – that they plan to control our lives forever, even if there is a vaccine.

When announcing the promising release of impending vaccines, World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told the media on Monday there is “no silver bullet at the moment — and there might never be.” One would expect his next sentence to say, “and therefore these measures really don’t work and are unsustainable so we need to go on with our lives and achieve herd immunity through healthier people.” Then he added the following: “The message to people and governments is clear: Do it all. And when it’s under control, keep going.”

In other words, control forever. This was never about waiting until a vaccine, which in itself was an unprecedent illogical strategy. The lockdowns and mask mandates are not viewed even as a means to an end or a necessary evil, but the end itself.

When announcing the immoral, illogical, and dangerous policy of mandating mask wearing on all school children in Ohio on Tuesday, Gov. Mike DeWine said, “That is what the norm should be.”

In an effort to accustom people to this “new normal,” as the Miami government puts it, the Washington Post ran an article over the weekend titled, “A coronavirus vaccine won’t change the world right away.”

“It seems, to me, unlikely that a vaccine is an off-switch or a reset button where we will go back to pre-pandemic times,” said Yonatan Grad, an assistant professor of infectious diseases and immunology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

The Post references the classic mitigating factors against vaccine efficacy:

Deploying the vaccine to people in the United States and around the world will test and strain distribution networks, the supply chain, public trust and global cooperation. It will take months or, more likely, years to reach enough people to make the world safe.

For those who do get a vaccine as soon as shots become available, protection won’t be immediate — it takes weeks for the immune system to call up full platoons of disease-fighting antibodies. And many vaccine technologies will require a second shot weeks after the first to raise immune defenses.

Immunity could be short-lived or partial, requiring repeated boosters that strain the vaccine supply or require people to keep social distancing and wearing masks even after they’ve received their shots. And if a vaccine works less well for some groups of people, if swaths of the population are reluctant to get a vaccine or if there isn’t enough to go around, some people will still get sick even after scientists declare victory on a vaccine — which could help foster a false impression it doesn’t work.

In addition, CNN is warning that the vaccine might not work on obese people, as has been the case with the flu vaccine. Well, obesity is one of the biggest risk factors for getting a dangerous case of COVID-19, so what good is a vaccine that can’t protect the most vulnerable?

They don’t realize it, but they are refuting the one talking point in favor of these tyrannical measures. The entire premise of deviating from the tried and tested method of achieving herd immunity with those who have very low death rates was that it was worth waiting this out for a vaccine. Now they are admitting the obvious – that vaccines for respiratory flu-like viruses are not nearly full proof, especially when concocted this quickly.

The entire corona panic porn industry is admitting they will not only force you to take that vaccine – actually, an endless series of vaccines – but that will be just the beginning, not the end of the tyranny. The tyranny is the end to itself.

In other words, this will not end until and unless we make this end. The virus will end when we achieve de facto immunity, which increasingly appears to be only 15%-25% in most places. However, the tyranny won’t end even after eradication, once they get everyone acclimated to the “new normal.”

If you think things can’t get worse in America, just look how quickly people are abiding by the most draconian mask mandates on young children, even though our own government has stated for years that they don’t work and are harmful to children. Australian police are now breaking into people’s homes to monitor quarantines and have deployed the military to repress its people every bit as much as China did. That can happen here as well.

As Frederick Douglass warned, “Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them.”

Coronavirus spreading Daniel horowitz face masks Fort Benning HAWAII Intelwars Japan Military recruits

Horowitz: From Fort Benning to Japan and Hawaii, face masks are not working

One will not find a greater degree of compliance to a mask mandate than with one placed on military trainees by drill sergeants. That’s why, if masks are really the viral placebo their devoted cult worshipers make them out to be, one would expect mask mandates to work wonders in these environments. Except, they didn’t work – just like they didn’t work in Japan, Hawaii, Israel, California, Miami, or any other place where they’ve shown near universal compliance for months, yet the virus spread rapidly.

In the military, they don’t just virtue signal and wear masks as a symbol. If they are led to believe mask-wearing will work to stop the spread, they will wear them seriously with the boot of the drill sergeant behind them. Yet, despite universal mask wearing, the super social distance rituals, and all precautions imaginable, it failed to stop an outbreak at Fort Benning in Georgia in May.

Here’s how the outbreak unfolded, according to Elizabeth Howe of Connecting Vets. About 640 recruits from the 30th AG Battalion and 2nd Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment arrived at Fort Benning in May for training and were immediately tested for COVID-19. Four recruits tested positive and were removed from the group while the remaining soldiers were placed in isolation for 14 days without any training exercises. After the 14-day quarantine, they were all retested and every single one was negative.

Only then did the training commence – with the full panoply of obsessive social distancing measures, including mask wearing. You can imagine that there will never be greater compliance to these rules than during military training. Yet, just eight days later, after one recruit exhibited symptoms, 142 of the trainees tested positive. That is 22% of the entire group isolated and quarantined together. As they were young, none of them were hospitalized and most were asymptomatic.

The case of Fort Benning should have served as a harbinger of what was to come in June with the surge of cases throughout the country, and now, the entire world. You cannot run or hide from God’s respiratory viruses that spread as ubiquitously as the flu. However, at the same time, we see God’s mercy – that the majority of cases are asymptomatic and there are very few serious cases outside of those who are immunocompromised.

Another important observation from this Fort Benning outbreak is in order. Notice how the masks did not help and the virus spread far and wide, but stopped at the 22% threshold? This is another great example of what Nobel laureate Michael Levitt, Oxford epidemiologist Sunetra Gupta, and Stanford professor John Ioannidis predicted early on based on the natural case study of the Diamond Princess cruise ship outbreak – that the virus hits a brick wall in most places around the 15%-20% marker. Seventeen percent of passengers on the Diamond Princess tested positive. The working theory is that most people have some degree of cross-immunity from other coronavirus colds and that the virus does not transmit homogenously from every infected individual.

While there will be places where the virus hits up to 40% of the people, albeit with most not exhibiting symptoms, most states and countries seem to get a respite from the disease once they reach 15%-20% seroprevalence in the population, or even less. We are beginning to see this in the southern states that have already peaked and are seeing plummeting rates of new hospitalizations.

Thus, we see God’s judgment and mercy mixed together. On the one hand, nothing seems to prevent a spread in the population, but on the other hand, a de facto herd immunity threshold is hit around 20%. The quicker we achieve this through the younger population, the more we will see results like we’ve witnessed in the military.

There is no greater petri dish and natural case study of a confined universe than on an aircraft carrier. During the spring, there was an outbreak on the USS Theodore Roosevelt whereby 24% of the sailors tested positive. Yet, there was only one fatality.

Hence, it’s not like the mask mandate at Fort Benning worked even a little bit. They seemed to have suffered roughly the same infection rate as those places caught by surprise, such as the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

How much more evidence do we need before this mask cult takes its Jonestown mentality and seeks mental health treatment?

What we saw at Fort Benning is now playing out throughout the world.

Japan is a country where people have been wearing masks for months with a degree of discipline we would expect in our military. Yet, cases are soaring, despite the fact that they are not testing nearly as much as we are:

They are now panicking in Hong Kong with cases surging despite a universal mask mandate in place for months.

Countries like Japan and Hong Kong are as disciplined and as clean as they come. But you can’t stop a pandemic flu. Thankfully, there really is no reason to panic because the rate of serious cases is even less in Asia thanks to their inherent partial immunity.

We are seeing the same pattern here in America. Hawaii has had the most severe lockdown of anywhere and it’s enforced very zealously. They also have had near universal compliance to their long-standing mask mandate in place since April. They are also an island country. Yet, it has experienced a 700% increase in cases over the past 30 days!

The same holds true for a state like California, which had the earliest stay-at-home order in March and has never exited a modified phase one reopening. We all know how that has turned out. The same holds true for Israel and Australia. In fact, in the ultimate irony, the only countries that seem to remain flat are the Nordic countries, which have aggressively resisted the idea of public masking.

Again, a lot of this stems from immutable laws of nature. The northern countries got the virus earlier, then it migrated south to places like America’s southern states, Hawaii, Israel, and Australia. Also, any country that has not achieved at least 15% seroprevalence will always remain vulnerable until they do so. Which is why Sweden is riding high with herd immunity, relatively few deaths, and a society and economy intact.

What we are seeing over and over again is that in areas where the virus already spread, the lockdowns don’t work at all. In areas where there was a low rate of seroprevalence at the time of the lockdown, they successfully delay the spread temporarily. But because those policies are unsustainable until eradication, which could take years, they are actually forestalling herd immunity, keeping vulnerable people at risk longer, crushing their society and economies, and ensuring that so many seniors die of isolation and atrophy.

The virus eventually catches up to them, which is what we have witnessed in places like California, Hawaii, Israel, and Australia, which thought they dodged the bullet by destroying their economies. Now, they are left with nothing but a sea of cross-contaminated cloth masks.

For those of you who wondered why no other generation was ‘smart’ enough to think of these policies to “mitigate” a respiratory virus, the feebleness of our actions have now been unmasked.
